N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (2 Viewers)

TB's defense last night dominated the game...but you gotta give Brady a lot of credit...he lead the offense to average 30.5 points per game through their 4 post season playoff games...last nights score could of been worse if TB's tight end didn't get stripped of his TD catch in the endzone...which resulted in a pretty good no score effort on that goal line stance for KC...

don't know if Mahomes turf toe ailment was a big factor...but he was limping somewhat late in the game...probably due more to his 3 sacks and physical pounding he got from being chased all over the field while he scrambled for his life...JPP's firecracker fingers seemed to be working fine...

I wanna say it was a fairy tale ending for Brady...to win a title without the shadow of BB...but it may not be the end of his story...I expect TB to make the playoffs again in 2021 and time will tell how far they will go...

congrats to the TB fans...

congrats to the TB fans...

Yeah all 9 of them...............the ratings here in Boston were 57.5.........holy smokes; only ONE Patriots super bowl had a higher rating.......in Tampa it was 52.3..............so the home team drew less than Brady's former fan base.

Yeah congrats to the Bucs; 7-5 and going nowhere, losers of 3 in a row, they go on their bye, come back and rip off 7 wins in a row.

Maybe Brady will play until he's 50, win 6 more Super Bowls with Tampa and go into the HOF as a Buc.

That mensa member Gronk's post game presser was a doozy "I love playing here, the owners, the front line personnel, the teammates, it's great here, everyone cracks jokes all the time"...........yeah good for you Gronk, you meathead.............glad you retired because your body was beat up and you just couldn't take it anymore, only to unretire when Brady calls you.......................

Imagine, former Patriot Brady throws 3 TD passes, 2 to former Patriot Gronk, 1 to former Patriot Brown.................

The Chiefs completely and utterly crapped themselves, they looked like a team that had never been to a Super Bowl before, no adjustments to what Tampa did on defense, no answer for a zone defense? Or when they played cover two with two safeties high, Hill and Kelce should have ran short routes and sat in front of the safeties..................

What was Reid wearing a feed bag or a mask too BTW?

1-3 in the Super Bowl; and let's pump the brakes on the Chiefs being the next dynasty...........

How many dynasties in the making is Brady going to destroy; Rams greatest show on turf in 2001, Eagles in 2004, Seahawks in 2014, Falcons in 2016, Rams again in 2018, now the Chiefs?

That's two Super Bowls Brady has denied the Chiefs..............gee, what a shame...............

I actually liked the Weekend on the halftime show, but yes, all that woke crap pregame; spare me.........................

As stupid as the Super Bowl pregame and halftime were, the single weirdest moment had to be that bizarre Vince Lombardi hologram or whatever the hell that was supposed to be towering over the field like Godzilla. Was that an actor or something else? It was downright creepy. I'm surprised they didn't make Lombardi give some woke speech about unity. Or maybe they did and I wasn't paying attention to what he was saying because it was so bizarre. Imagine the real Lombardi's reaction to the halftime show? He would have stroked out.

That's something new they are doing; check out the latest 30 for 30 detailing the feud between Al Davis and Pete Roselle, they used actors with make up trying to look like them...........when they talk in the shadows, it's not bad, but when they show close ups at the end..............holy smokes, hideous...................

George,

I am SHOCKED that your are beating up Deflate Gate Brady so badly. He was YOUR man and now you kick him to the curb like some kind of washed up bit part actor. Shame on your George...SHAME GI!!! I though for sure you would be hailing him here on the forum today.

Its okay though, because today we are "BOO Brady" for the Super Bowl with mini-sausages, meatballs, dips, wings, guacamole, queso with piccadillo meat, tons of chips, jalapeño pimento dip, a pepperoni cracker plate, bree cheese and something else I can't remember.

Mike, YES THE COMMERCIALS. I can't wait.

Seriously, though if Brady wants to play till 45 then so be it. I dig the dudes story from way back when he got picked in the 6th round. I always root for the under dog and dude payed his dues, plus some. He is an anonomaly on so many levels and after you (George) defending him and selling me on the fact that he IS the greatest QB of all time...I agree. Even with Deflate gate.

Besides all that..."BOO BRADY" is good fun I we'll see if Mahomes can see do it again. At this point in NFL history, your nobody unless you beat Brady. Brady has become the bench mark. You meet this guy on field and you have reach the pinnacle of NFL battle and your career. Again, we'll see if Mahomes can slay the Greatest football Samurai to live.

I have no money on this game thank God.

George, my daughter is applying to Harvard. If she gets accepted, I pulling all of my favors from my Boston Brethen...you, ZB Lang and the civil war era post office lady. And if she gets accepted, which is a total lark by the way...get the beer iced down and Ill bring the fajitas!

BEst,

John from Texas

I really, really hope she gets in to Harvard; you coming up here to visit her would be a trip, make it happen God, make it so..........................

Gmoney, can't agree on this one, I think the Weekend should stick to the Work Week.....................:) Seriously, I read his explanation on the bandages, I believe I have reasonable intelligence and I was lost 2 sentences in. Weird cat............

As to the whatever those images are................................ugh. I had no idea what the Vince Lombardi thing was about other than it was quite frankly creepy. And if it would have been Al Davis, I would have momentarily thought I was watching a horror movie or Goodfellas, not sure on which.

Just as I predicted, Belichick the GM is getting killed here today on sports talk radio.

It's "all his fault" Brady left here and Gronkowski retired at 29, both hated playing for him, going somewhere else was a breath of fresh air for the two of them..............hosts are saying "I can see Brady winning multiple super bowls in Tampa, then leaving there and going to another team on the rise in need of a QB and winning a few more rings, a la LeBron James".................."Brady is proving it was him, not Belichick, Brady will do better post Patriots than Belichick will".................

And they wonder why sports talk radio is called "The fellowship of the miserable".............

I probably have the most eclectic taste in music compared to anyone I know, I like basically anything from 60's music to fossil rock of the 70's, R & B, funk, pop, hard rock, soft rock, disco, trance, freestyle, opera, rap, 80's hair bands, the second British invasion in the 80's, 90's pop, grunge music, etc, etc.............I like everything from A Ha to the Gypsy Kings to Judy Torres to the Foo Fighters to Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes to the Smashing Pumpkins to Brooks and Dunn to NWA to Journey to U2 to The Gap Band to Tom Petty to Aerosmith to Bananarama .

Satellite radio was made for me.............

Don’t hold back George. Tell us how you feel.

There was a caller earlier today who claims he heard from a source close to the situation that the Patriots, who are way under the cap this year, are going to bring in some big name free agents and also run Cam Newton back out there.................Brady, who's on only a two year deal, will leave Tampa after the 2021 season.....................and come back to a fully restocked and loaded Patriots team to go on another Super Bowl run a la LeBron James returning to Cleveland.

Can you imagine.............................I am highly skeptical of this, I think that hayseed who owns Tampa (and nothing says class like an owner wearing a team ball cap on the podium as he's handed his Lombardi; I'm surprised they didn't throw hay down on the podium too and scatter around some bales.................wear a suit and tie and act like you've been there before) is going to try to extend Brady over the off season so he can play until either he's 50 or his arm falls off........................

good luck on that...
but I doubt it...
if brady had a point to make...
he already made it...

and tell BB to throw away that classy sleeveless hoody when he accepts that trophy...^&grin

I knew even before this Super Bowl that Brady was the greatest QB of all time. Not even close. Joe Montana is only a distant second. But I vastly underestimated the guy. He has that intangible quality that is extremely rare in professional sports. Every player has talent. But most are satisfied just performing well enough from year to year to keep their jobs. I'm sure they would all like to win but the reality is that only one team each year will take home the trophy. A handful of players have some special quality that sets them apart. They are dedicated solely to winning. They put the time and effort to be the best of the best and raise up their team mates to expect to win championships. I would put Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Joe Montana, Larry Bird, Bill Russell, Wayne Gretzky, and Tom Brady in that category in my lifetime. There may have been greater and more dominant athletes like Wilt Chamberlain who averaged 50 points per game one season but winning championships year after year requires something more than pure physical skill. Magic Johnson once tried his hand at coaching but gave it up when he realized that most of the guys he was coaching didn't have that same desire to win. Those guys are a breed apart even from the best of the best.

Brady inspires all those around him.....yea...he is the best...but his work ethic and mental attitude to winning is contagious to his team mates.....he is so respected by guys who have played with him...and guys that want to play with him...they will go the extra mile for him...in the huddle...he's like E. F Hutton...when Brady talks...they listen...I feel his team mates will follow him anywhere...he is a leader with a huge competitive drive that hates to lose...so he doesn't...the man is a different breed...

Yeah, Brady really showed Belichick who's boss.

Rumor has it that the Eagles are trying to trade Carson Wentz for Nick Foles. Wait, what??? :rolleyes2: -- Al

A few quick points, some of which might not be popular:

There were a few good commercials, I liked the ones with M&Ms , Bud Light Legends, Doritos 3D and Quicken loans certain is better;

The halftime show has always catered to non-football fans, Beyoncé , Shakira, Maroon 5 etc. aren’t exactly the typical favorites of the typical NFL audience;

The NFL needs a 5 seed to win once in a while otherwise it falls victim to a sports’ worst enemy, predictability;

The National Anthem performance was nicely done;

The fly over with a B1B, B2 and B52 was excellent.

George I just finished that 30 for 30. What a great doc! But, yeah that was creepy with the deep fake stuff. I saw another Al Davis doc a while ago where they said Al Davis drove a black cadillac around town and didn't even have a license plate. He didn't need one.

I remember him, Tom Flores and the rest of the gang vividly.

They were a team with character...............................if the internet would have been a thing, they would have all gone to jail and Al Davis would have been charged under the RICO act..........

I liked it overall...............loved the Davis line when the interviewer asked him if when he was younger if he got picked first or last for sports and his reply was "I'd like to think I was the guy doing the picking"..................

I'm no lawyer, but I don't understand why the NFL back then would not allow teams to move; if a team was in a city with little fan base and they had a dump for a stadium, why couldn't they move to another city and have a better following and a nicer stadium.

Now granted, the Raiders had a big following in Oakland; his winning that case vs the NFL opened the door for all the other moves that took place afterward...........

I was going to college at USC when the Raiders played at the Coliseum. Their fans were wild and unruly. For lack of anything better to do, I went to the AFC championship game at the Coliseum when the Raiders played the Seahawks. At that time you could buy playoff tickets for face value up to the day of the game. The Raiders won and their fans poured down on the field only to be met by the LAPD. The LAPD of the 1980s was a tough group under Daryl Gates that didn't put with any nonsense. They were on horseback beating those people down with clubs like something out of an ancient battlefield. If they did that today, it would be in the news for months. Back then it was just what happened at a football game. The Raiders had a large and unruly fanbase in LA.

The Red Sox played the Angels in the 1986 ALCS, my Dad was a Boston Police Officer at the time, he was in the mounted unit, he got myself and two of my friends into the park for game 7, no tickets, we stool along the back wall of the bleachers..................after the RS won the game, we filtered down to Pesky's pole and I saw my Dad out on the field on his horse, I waved to him and he pointed at myself and my two friends and waved us onto the field, we ran out onto the field, he and two other mounted officers were behind second base in the outfield.

As we ran out, apparently a number of other knuckleheads ran out onto the field thinking my Dad's invite extended to them...........wrong.

My Dad and three other mounted officers charged the fans like they were French Cuirassiers at Waterloo, they pulled out their batons and pummeled the fans and chased them off the field.

Yeah, imagine if that happened today; some woke "Karen" would have filmed that on her IPhone and it would have been a national story the next day.

Things sure have changed.................and for the most part, not for the better..................

Did you see the ballbag streaker at the game on Sunday? He had some message from a porn website on him, he got 300 large for it, he also placed a prop bet "Would there be a Streaker on the field"............and naturally he won the bet.............

What a world.
