Cooks has baffled me since it happened!
Wait, now John Harbaugh is staying in Baltimore?
So it looks like the Ravens will get into the playoffs with a red hot, ball hawking, hard hitting defense and a QB from whom all they ask is he not turn the ball over...………...I mean, other than two other times, when has that formula worked for them to get to and win a Super Bowl.
They are annoying, I'll give them that...………………….I've got this sinking feeling it's going to be Chefs, Patriots, Texans, Ravens, Chargers, whoever, then in the second round Chefs, Patriots, Texans and Ravens, then the Patriots will win and the Ravens will go into KC and knock off the Chefs and end up coming here and beating the Patriots, thus returning to the Super Bowl.
Mark it down now.
In pen.
Ravens are dangerous but by no means the best team, but the scenario you have set up is looking probable. Blame the Steelers, I do, they had this locked up like a sack and then laid an egg 3 straight weeks. I am hoping for a second week of improbable and beating the Saints but not counting on it. Around here, you would think the Ravens are already SB champs, what a fanbase. Anyhow, if the Steelers ever can be consistent for 1 week, that time is now b/c that would be effectively killing the Ravens for the division.
TD
And right after the win last night, Weddle runs his mouth with the "No one wants to see us in the playoffs"...…….no we don't because you're a bunch of cheap shot artists and we're afraid you'll cripple some of our players.
All this team does is yap, yap, yap, Weddle, Suggs, whoever; just play the game and shut up.
and there you have it, we can't close out a football game. nothing new. ****. In a way I hope we do not make the playoffs as we can't do anything with our talent. Fake punt short by a yard, short field for Brees, end of game.
TD
...That should have been OPI...
George,
When I used to watch the NFL all the non-called OPI's used to drive me absolutely nuts. DB's can't breathe on a WR, while those guys push off w/ the ball in the air and/or at the top of their routes like crazy. It's one of the reasons I stopped watching. I grew up watching greats like Paul Warfield, Fred Biletnikoff, and many others who really had to fight to get open w/out all the benefits of today's rules. And they really had to be brave going over the middle too. Now I just observe the NFL from a safe distance (read box scores, observe some internet chatter and summaries). The game just became too frustrating to watch anymore. I enjoy watching HS football on Friday nights much more. It still actually resembles football and has an actual flow to it. Not sure how much longer it will last, but for now it's that and college ball for me.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours!
Joe
Cleveland already beat the Ravens this year, in Game 5, in OT, 12-9. I'm sure the Ravens will be looking for a little payback, at the very least. It will be a good game. -- AlTough way to lose on a fumble as they were driving for maybe the winning TD or worse case scenario, a tying field goal.
And I hate to circle back to the referees, but on the Saints go ahead TD, the receiver stumbled, regained his traction, pushed off on the defender, TD.
That should have been OPI.
They still have a shot, Cleveland is no pushover and it would be quite a story if they knocked off the Ravens; maybe they should bring Ray Lewis in to give a pregame pep talk, I'm sure he'd love to take a stab at it and would make a lot of good points, he'd preach to the defense about how they can't allow themselves to be gashed and slashed on big plays.

Thanks for chiming in...………..wow, some classic old school references there, good for you.
At this stage of the game, I'm more of a college football fan, it's a better watch, the atmosphere with the students is awesome, the pro game does nothing for me to be honest.
Merry Christmas to you and yours as well Joe...………...

That was a remarkable game. Army had a tremendous year and were fun to watch. -- AlOn Saturday I was watching the Armed Services Bowl (Army vs. Houston) when the Redskins vs. Titans game started. I kept watching the Army game even though it was a blow out. Army's second and third stringers played with more heart than most NFL players.
