N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (2 Viewers)

Mike:

You have been following football for as long as I have (if not longer). I can't remember a season that started with so many QB injuries.

4 quarterbacks that have played in Super Bowls, Brees, Foles, Newton and Roethlisberger are all injured. Not to mention Darnold is out with mono. That is close to 1/6th of the starting QB's injured and not playing before week 3 even starts.

-Jason

Jason...

yea...and 4 of those are BIG NAMES...two of them HUGE NAMES....names with playoff implications...

there are articles on both Yahoo Sports and ESPN.com that Kaepernick's agent is calling them all and telling them Kap is in the best shape of his life and ready to play...

The NFL already confirmed that the laws of science don't matter regarding Deflategate and the Ideal gas law, so why should the laws of justice?

Nothing yet today and with today being the biggest day of practice to prep for the weekend opponent, who knows where he stands at this point.

George...

I want to get Zeke's name in that first sentence...

and you're right...Goodell.....short for God.....rules all...

he can screw you guilty or not...

you sold out yet and got Larry packing up?...
have a drink for me...^&grin

with all the scrutiny on instant replay...
new rules on reviewing PI...
and fans questioning calls...
there is a trend that penalties are becoming more frequent...

there are an average of between 67 - 84 plays per game for the offense...
that’s roughly 134 - 168 total plays per game...

According to NFLpenalties.com...
622 penalties have been called through two weeks of the this season...
that's approximately 9.72 flags per game.

In 2018, there were 4,069 total flags in the regular season...
an average 7.62 per game...
in 2009...per the site, there was an average 6.64 penalties per game...

while I want the game called right...
this is alarming...

now days...
I never consider a play over...
til I wait 15 seconds to see if there was a flag thrown...

no spontaneous celebrations anymore...
you just hold your breath and hope it's not negated...

of course that works both ways...^&grin
I have been bailed out many times when the flag helped me too...

Yup, guilty or not, civil or criminal, does not matter...……….this alleged victim could drop the suit and the NFL could still come down on him and do their own in house investigation.

We crushed it today, just nuts and it's only Wednesday, talk about getting off to a flying start, holy smokes, we're sitting pretty right now for sure, thanks for asking...……………….

hope you come home with an empty truck...
or a full one with a collection you bought there...

If I blow through what I brought out here, I'll need to refill the shelves with vintage items, keep priming that pump...…...:wink2:

AB lost his Nike shoe deal today...
first helmets...now shoes...
getting expensive for him...

"Antonio Brown is not a Nike athlete" ...said a company spokesman...

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27651530/antonio-brown-loses-deal-nike

No helmet, no shoes; how do they expect him to play with no helmet and no shoes?

Man this guy can't catch a break, but **** can he catch a football...……………….what next I wonder.

I'm on the edge of my seat just thinking about it.

I have been bailed out many times when the flag helped me too...

even Brady is complaining about too many penalties...

Even when DVR-ing a NFL game, the game is very tedious to watch.
I can't stand it when players are penalized for simply playing football. The product has no rhythm and is unwatchable in real time. The NFL lacks the competitive grit it once had.
It feels more like an athletic exhibition anymore with all the emphasis on individuals. It's just too surgical and clean, but I guess that's how most fans enjoy it these days. I could go on and on.
I try to watch a game here and there, but I feel as if it's just drained of heart and soul anymore. Do you remember when it took some guts to go over the middle? Having that courage was a big part of the game for me. Also, as full of mayhem as the game once was, Walter Payton never once ran out of bounds.

it was just a matter of time...
I thought if anybody could handle him...
it would of been BB...

that was before all the allegations of rape...
curious if this will help her civil suit...

I hope they don't get stuck with the guaranteed...
they claim they had no knowledge of the civil suit...

the NFL should make him forfeit any fees received back to the Pats...
they were duped by him and his attorney...

he has now completely destroyed his career...
no team in their right mind will touch him with a ten foot pole...

What a circus. I was hoping the Pats would hang onto him for the entertainment value. Dan Snyder will probably now sign him to a $100 million contract over 20 years with the Deadskins and Brown will fall down the stairs and break his leg the next day.

I think Goodell is now forced to put him on the "exempt list"...
just through public opinion...
hopefully his career is over...as deserved...

it's funny that the Vegas line only dropped 1 point after he was removed from the roster...
NE doesn't need him to win...

Goodell probably doesn’t have to. I don’t think any team will touch him right now. His trial may not be a criminal one but the court of public opinion has found him guilty.

Bite your tongue! This would be funny if it weren't so sadly possible. This is just the sort of 'opportunity' Little Danny Boy thrives on.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Brad...
is NE off the hook for the guaranteed?
I'm watching ESPN...
but have not heard any comments on it...
it was "guaranteed"...
but there must be moral clauses in even that I would guess...

NE got screwed by him and his agent...
they with held the possible rape allegation charges.......

So true. The current NFL product in no way resembles the game I fell in love with in the 60's and continued to love through the 90's. The fall off in quality is just unbelievable and so very sad. -- Al
