N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (2 Viewers)

I remember at the beginning of the year everyone wondered what would happen to the Steelers' Three B's.

Ben Roethlisberger injured and out for the season after 2 games;
Antonio Brown has not played in a single game and is out of the league;
LeVeon Bell has 449 yards and 2 TD's in 9 games.

Bell’s rushing stats are more a reflection of the offensive line and the Jets’ strategy than Bell’s abilities.

What a disaster for the Steelers. They not only lost an important game, but several offensive players were injured and suspended making their anemic offense potentially even worse. And Rudolph may eventually get suspended for his role in the fight. The Browns are apparently only a game out of the wild card position despite having a losing record. What a league. Can't wait until they go to 18-games. The fight was the most exciting thing in the game. Maybe the season.[/QUOTE

Not really. The season was long over when Ben went out week 2. They have since worked on the Defense with trades, releases, shifts, etc and that part I am pretty **** happy about as a fan. It is the ONLY reason the record is where it is. They singlehandedly beat your Rams with Defense, PERIOD. I know that burns your ***, but that is what it is.

If the Steelers had a way to only field their defense for the entire game, I think they could go undefeated the rest of the season. I am pretty sure Minka F. can throw better than Rudolf and I think the other DB's are better receivers than what we have left after 2 MORE dirty hits by Cleveland on JuJu and Dionte.

Regarding the Browns game.......Miles Garret = SEE YA, hopefully gone forever b/c if that is on the street, he's in jail looking for a bail bondsmen. End of story. Thug life born, Thug life bred and if he was not in the NFL, can guarantee you thug life dead. I don't want to hear any crap about his parents, etc etc etc. His actions , there is NO excuse, he doesn't deserve the opportunity to ever play again in my opinion. He forfeited that right then and there and I hope the NFL sets an example. The suspension was a nice start. Hell, even Baker Mayfield publically called his own teamate out as did everyone else in the world.

Regarding the Steelers actions, Pouncey is not a nice guy granted and he basically curb stomped the thug Garrent for going after Rudolph. Got 3 games for it, seems like a fitting punishment. I personally wished he would have gotten more beats on that piece of ****e. Will there be other fines, sure, but I don't think they are going to amount to much.

Long story short, the NFL needs to take out the trash and get rid of these types of individuals. They started with Antonio Brown, good riddance, then Burfict (fitting), now Garret. I only hope the trend continues.

You forgot Rudolph in your indignation over thugs. The guy who actually started the fight. Maybe his hair is too nice. I bet he won't try to rip anyone's helmet off again though. He got punked. Then his agent started crying about legal action. Embarrassing. The glory days are long behind the Steelers. In the old days, after a player did something like that you would take care of it on the field. Now they want to threaten legal action and cry from the safety of the press room.

Doug,

seriously keep dreaming. Glory Days, hell, they had them in the 70s, then we had the 80s, oh we did reach Superbowl and playoffs multiple times in the 90s, then since Ben we made 3 Super Bowls, won 2, and perennial playoffs....................SO we may have a few down years, but I believe that in my lifetime, the Steelers will continue to be contenders because that is what happens when you have a well run franchise with longevity of ownership, longevity of fan base, longevity of personnel, etc etc etc. It is the reason the Patriots will find a way to be winners after Brady, as with Dallas after Aikman (may not have won SBs lately, but they look like they are never out of it to me)

Fights happen all the time and if I was Rudolph (who I am not a fan of) got tired of getting his *** kicked all game and then Garret (the only truly guilty party in this entire incident) flopped and laid on him, so Rudolph got pissed and wanted him off. If that is starting a fight which required Garret to rip off Rudolphs helmet, swing it at him and then hit him with it in your eyes, then you live in a warped sense of reality.

Legal Action - I believe that using a weapon to commit and assault and battery goes beyond the football field. Ya, it's pretty darn illegal and goes way beyond a game. Again, good riddance to Garret, he has and will receive everything coming to him. In all seriousness, the guy is probably mentally unstable and they should put him on suicide watch.

And Doug, the fact still remains, these "pathetic has been" Steelers Defense Kicked the Ram's Tails. If it wasnt for a snap going over a qb's head and a safety, remind me how many points the Rams Offense scored again on the Steelers Defense......................ZERO.

Are you still that upset about 1980? 31-19, Rams were reminded it is a 4 quarter game. 4th Qtr - Steelers 14, Rams 0

I'm not sure what your obsession is with the Rams who had nothing to do with this recent embarrassment. This is not the same Steelers organization from the 70s or even 80s. The fan base is like a bunch of grown ups who still watch Star Wars. It's over. They can wheel Joe Greene on the field like Frankenstein's monster but this Steelers team is soft and they got their backsides kicked by the lowly Browns. Rudolph is a punk who instigated the whole situation by trying to rip Garrett's helmet off and then charged him after his O-lineman had him wrapped up and then played the victim when he got he his backside kicked. But Garret is "mentally unstable" and should be on suicide watch? Good grief. That's a hysterical PC overreaction. The guy has made and will make more money than you will in one hundred lifetimes. I think he is doing fine. He is probably in Cancun with a harem of models. If you are concerned, though, I'm happy to join him.

The Patriots beat the Iggles yesterday in a rock fight, 17-10.

THe defense is carrying this team, the offense, specifically the line, is terrible.

I can't see them getting to the SB this year, it's the Ravens year.............either that or they'll get upset in the first round.

Their offense is not very good, if Antonio Brown was not so batshit crazy, they'd be all set, but he's not right in the head, they took a shot with him and lost.

I’m excited to see how much of a difference Isaiah Wynn makes when back

I still do not know what to make of the Niners, even at 9-1.

From a schedule standpoint they remind me of Alabama. They have beaten everyone that they should beat, but when they ran into someone good (Seattle) they lost.

The big picture problem is that you won't be playing the Redkins, Bengals etc. in the playoffs.

Do me and the rest of the Patriots fans out there a solid and beat the Ravens.

Thanks.

Doug,

The Steelers are exactly the same organization as they always have been - consistent. They sell the same number of tickets, the same family owns it, etc etc etc. They have not flip flopped between cities, ownership, etc.

You have missed the point completely on the Garret incident. The guy overreacted and in a horrible way. Fights happen all the time on the field. I can't remember one where there was justification to rip off an opponents helmet and then use it as a weapon. Get real, its never happened before and hopefully will never again.

I personally put Garret in the same category as Burfict. A PIECE OF SHiITE and anyone who thinks either of them is good for the game of football should have their head examined. If this guy wasn't playing football, odds are good that he would be in jail. I would be singing the same song regardless of who this happened against. I don't want to see any of that behavior on the field and when it does happen, the NFL needs to have Zero tolerance policy and the more they start doing that, the less this we will see.

And remind me where the comparison of his paycheck to mine has anything to do with this discussion or what your point is there? I believe in old money class, I don't feel the need to publically discuss my annual income or asset class.

We will find out in the next few weeks as they play the Packers, Ravens and Saints, a tall order. Only the Packer game is a home game. They have trouble with mobile QBs. Rogers and Brees is more their style. Pick your poison.

Brad:

Great points.

Their last three games aren't easy either with home games against the rejuvenated Falcons and the Rams, then they face a season finale at Seattle.

Now Myles Garret is saying that Mason Rudolph directed a racial slur at him prior to their brawl last week.

Yeah right, sure he did...…………..hey when all else fails, play the race card, it's 2019 afterall.

Not sure what is worse, this load of BS AFTER his appeal was denied or Shannon Sharpe saying he should not have been suspended.

Sharpe looks like a horse, he might as well behave like a horses ***.

Post of the year vote here! Yup, you knew this was coming. The guy has no class, no character and is exactly where he deserves to be. SUSPENDED, no pay and I can guarantee NO endorsements.

Oh and you gotta love Beckham - "first I heard about a racial slur, but I believe my teammate". Yup, with an endorsement like that, you know its just gotta be true. LOL. This guy should be gone forever, not only does he have Zero Control, but at the end of the day, he is a liar saying anything to keep that paycheck.

Oh Yeah Doug - How much is his paycheck now? And I am sure he was a financial stalwart prior to this, a bastion of savings and investment. In the words of Bruce Willis - YippeeKayay………...

This seemed inevitable. The fact that it came out a week after the incident makes it seem all but made up in a desperate attempt to get the suspension reduced.

The other side - Pouncey's suspension reduced to 2 games, you knew they were not going to let him play against the Browns again. Probably better off as I am sure the next game between the two will be a complete ****eshow. I wonder if the Steelers will retaliate against the Cleveland receivers for the head hunting they recevied in the first game which cost us 2 receivers? Inquiring minds want to know.......
