N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (4 Viewers)

In case anyone cares, Saints Qb Drew Brees is set to pass Peyton Manning for the all-time lead in passing yardage. He only needs 418 yards to become the all-time leader. Brees is also within shouting distance of the passing TD record. He currently has 496, while Favre has 508, and Manning leads with 539. Brees will pass Favre this season but might not catch Manning this year. -- Al

Those QB passing records certainly do not seem to last very long. ^&grin

Ok, to put it out there, the Steelers are not ready for primetime. Ravens capitalized and played well.

Questions we have in Steel Town:

A. How the bleep do we not blitz Joe Flacco once during the game - he has happy feet and if you get him out of rhythm, good things happen. I don't care about our poor secondary (they are), but make the guy beat you, not get picked apart and give up 4 FG's in the second half on 22mins of offense. JEEZ.

B. What is wrong with Ben - timing off, errant throws 50% of the time, wizard throws other 50%. He is just off when its crucial right now.

C. Connor can run, we have a huge O Line - I know he is not Bell, but we should have had more than 11 yds. Play calling is out of whack.

D. Our defense has a lot of talent but just plain sucks on chunk plays and 3rd down. They look amateur.

At this point, I am not sure who they can beat on the schedule.

Just plain bad in Pittsburgh.

I watched that game...in fact...I bet on Pittsburgh - 2 1/2...while they had a few miscues in the first quarter...they had tied it up 14-14 by halftime and had momentum...the blitzing...or lack of it...you're right...no pressure on Flacco...he threw at will for over 350 yards...I mean when it gets to "crunch time"...the defensive co-ordinator has got to take some chances and blitz...that four man rush wasn't getting to him at all...and yea...while they actually had 19 yards...not 11...it's not much better...they came out with a one dimensional offensive game plan...Ben was either perfect or terrible on some easy overthrows...for them to get shut out in the second half...it was hard to watch...gotta admit though...Flacco and Baltimore are looking pretty good...

I know it's just business on both sides...
but Earl Thomas really got screwed BIG TIME...
what a nightmare for him...
never got a new contract...
now broke his leg...
out for the season...
no long term contract extension...
I understand Seattle not wanting to trade or make a long term offer...
and I understand him holding out...
it's just business...on both sides...
but now...
he's gonna be sitting at home watching the games with Dez Bryant...
without a promising lucrative future...

Pats finally showed everyone the 3-0 dolphins werent all that great 😀

How does Miami go in there and just completely not show up? The same thing with Tampa Bay in Chicago. It really makes me question the effort of some of these players. It's like some weeks they just don't feel like playing.

Thinking the AFC North will be a dog fight to the last week of the season, Browns, Bengals all much improved as are the Ravens and the Steelers will be there at the end just watch and see, should be a interesting race with no one running away with the title this year.

On ESPN they’re asking if this is the beginning of the end of the Pats. This week’s game against the Dolphins will be very important.

As I said not buying the end of the dynasty b.s. the Pat's beat the **** out of the Fins, and putting a whippn on the Colts....when Brady retires or thier coach leaves that team isn't going anywhere but the playoffs as usual.

Bad Flacco showed up today and the result is a Raven's loss to CLEVELAND! -- Al

The Browns have to work harder for a win than just about any team that I have ever seen. At least the Ravens didn't lose on a 63-yard FG like the NYG. That was brutal.

They showed Eli on the sidelines after that kick went through, he looked bewildered, dazed and confused; wait, check that, that's how he always looks.

The halfwit.

Eli does make some funny faces...
if they ever got him an offensive line that could pass block...
it would rejuvenate his career...
he's only 37...

He looked like hot garbage all game long, then he drops a perfect pass into a 6 inch window for a TD.

He's an enigma wrapped in riddle surrounded by ***, honest to Christ.

Seen his act twice in two Super Bowls, that was two times too many.

Not feeling well this weekend I watched more football than I can remember. NFL Red Zone is a trip. Watch it long enough with the games switching every few seconds and you start to go into an "Altered States" type trance. Anyone remember that movie?

I remember that Moldy Oldy. I remember William Hurt was in it and the guy who played Renko from Hill Street Blues was in it but that's about all. Red Zone takes some getting used to, but once you do it is fun. -- Al

Thank God for the red zone; outside of Patriots games, I can't watch a standard NFL game with their 4,000 commercials, the red zone has great whip around coverage of all the games, it's worth every dime that it costs to subscribe.

Give the Browns thier due, Ravens played like they didn't want to be there and the Browns showed some tinasty for the win, my only bright spot are the rest of the AFC North games against divisional opponents are all in Baltimore.
