NBA Playoffs (1 Viewer)

There is only one guy on the Lakers who is not vaccinated. And it's not LeBron.

In the article about the incident, the reporter said he's anti vaccine.

Good for him if he's not.

If you are, you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

Unrelated sport, but the owner of the Cubs is publicly very disappointed that the majority of his players have not gotten the vaccine.

When you are young, you think you are bulletproof; this virus could give two ****s what anyone thinks, it impacts people differently, randomly and in a lot of cases, with tragic results.

Dennis Schroder gave a confusing interview in which he indicated that he was the only Laker not to get the vaccine. It's unclear, though, whether LeBron got it. It sounds more and more like perhaps he didn't. I'm mixed on this. I'm all in favor of everyone getting the vaccine but there is something not quite right with publicly shaming someone - even LeBron -who has real or imagined concerns with the vaccine. It's generally up to everyone to make the decision they feel is in their best interest. I agree LeBron should really keep his opinions to himself. I don't have any respect for him off the court. But I'm a Lakers fan. Not a LeBron fan. And I only really care about him in the context of being a player on that team. Not his idiotic opinions on world events.

I'm no big fan of Lebron either...
I don't follow him on any social media...own a # 23 jersey or have his poster on my wall...
love him as a basketball player for the Lakers...
but not much deeper than that...

he's a little too out spoken about today's problems and social issues for me...
a little too openly "woke" for me...
I came for the sports...not an athlete's opinions...
which is fine...everybody is entitled to an opinion...
I just get tired of reading about his views outside basketball...
but if he can bring success to the Lakers...
I can tolerate his medical, political, personal and social views...

same thing like Deon Sanders...
I used to hate him when he was with Atlanta and San Francisco...
when Dallas picked him up...
I liked him...I "tolerated" him...^&grin

discussing getting or not getting your vaccine shot with friends or strangers...
is becoming somewhat similar to discussing religion or politics to me...
even though I'm dying to know if the person I'm talking to has been inoculated...
seems best to avoid asking...as my personal choice statistically differs from a lot of other people...

it's a personal choice that a lot of people feel really strong about...
I'll usually work it into a conversation that I have been inoculated and see if/how they respond...
if they don't confirm they got their shots too...
I assume they didn't...
but a lot of people are secretive about it...

I agree with every single word you said Mike.

100%.

Good example for me is Brady; I tolerated him when he was on the Patriots; now that he is gone, I have zero use for him, his concussion water, him wanting to play until he's 50, me, me, me........................I could care less about him.

As far as people not getting the vaccine; if they choose not to, then they are part of the problem instead of being part of the solution.

The real concern for me is if I'm at a party or in a parking lot shooting the **** with someone and neither of us is wearing masks and I've gotten the shot and he has not, there is a risk he could be infected and in turn give it to me..............................to me, THAT is the real issue here.

If once you get the shot you are 100% GUARANTEED not to get COVID, then I could give a **** less if that person has the vaccine or not.

There is a solution to the virus that is out there; if someone chooses not to get it and literally risk their life; best of luck to him.

I’m sure all of NY will be rooting for the Nets tomorrow night. Sorry George.

Was at a cook out/birthday party yesterday/last night..............they had the game on their TV in their screened in porch...............

M'eh.

That game reminds me of why I've given up on the NBA; offense is basically dribble, dribble, dribble, shoot a fallaway shot..............rinse, lather, repeat.

Last night was the game to steal if they were going to steal one; even up vs Brooklyn their chances are not very good, minus Brown, forget it.

I'm too busy watching the first place Red Sox and the Bruins in the playoffs to really give two ****s.

Almost none of the Lakers showed up in game one. LeBron played well but AD and all the role players got torched by a bunch of guys I've never heard of before. Hopefully that puts some fire into them for game two. AD is having difficulty playing along side Drummond. They probably need to start Kuzma and bench Drummond. I watched the Knicks game. Quite a crowd. Where is Woody Allen? It's been a long, long time since the Knicks had any success. Maybe the worst run organization in all of professional sports in a dead heat with the Jets and Deadskins. Tough to lose that one.

AD has zero, as in no, interest in playing the 5, so they need to stop with that.

I hope they didn't have to amputate LeBron's arm last night, what a flop that was, then rolling on the court grabbing his shoulder.

Mother of God.

Like the time in the finals Pierce had to be wheeled off the court in a wheelchair.................then he came charging out of the locker room like Spartacus................

I really enjoyed the media’s discussion about how great the Lakers Warriors play-in game was a ratings winner.

Everyone loved those numbers except the NBA since it proved that one game, winner take all events will always draw massive numbers.

Just ask the NFL why the Super Bowl dominates ratings numbers when it comes to sports.

I hope all the criticism lights a fire under the Lakers. AD has been the recipient of the bulk of it. Can't see the Lakers going down 2-0 and winning this series. Ironically, they are probably a deeper and better team than last year. But the injuries kept them from ever jelling as a team. You can't just flip the switch in the playoffs and win it all. They should be able to beat the Suns, though.

assuming every teams wins their home games...

in the 7 game playoff format...
if the Lakers win one of the first 2 games on the road...
they now have the advantage...
as games 3-4-and 6 are in LA...

Umm.........that makes no sense; if every team wins their home games, Phoenix wins the series 4-3.

You need LeBron to recover from that horrific injury he suffered in game 1, win tonight, then win all their home games.

If the Lakers lose tonight, the series is far from over; get AD off the 5 and he'll be good to go.

I see no scenario where the Lakers don't waltz to the finals, then demolish whoever the play from the East.

lol...George...

I guess I could of said that a little better...

meaning if the Lakers steal a home game from Phoenix tonight...

the majority of the remaining games will be played in LA...

That felt like a must win game for the Lakers and LeBron and AD carried them across the finish line. Hopefully they take care of business at home. Without Chris Paul playing healthy, the Lakers should be rolling the Suns. Playoff experience in clutch moments should be a huge advantage for LA but Phoenix has some talented guys who are giving them fits. I think this series goes six or seven games.

So in his post game press conference, Kyrie Irving came out and called Boston a racist city.

This from a a guy who came out and said he was resigning with Boston, then bailed, basically quit on the team the tail end of that season.

So yesterday OF ALL DAYS he comes out with this?

What a reprehensible human being.

The Nets can have him.

And you people wonder why I no longer closely follow basketball.

And wow, what a gutsy win by the Lakers last night vs a crippled Chris Paul and 11 guys I wouldn't know if I fell over.

Paul gets injured, the Suns go down in flames.

Not a smart move by Irving. But last night players were apparently spit on by fans and hit with objects from the stands. I can see his point. There is no doubt that the fans in the northeastern cities are the angriest and most obnoxious. The fans in Philly even hate their own teams. It doesn't make them racist, though. They are just drunken, unhappy people who should be arrested if they get out of hand. Unfortunately, most sports venues allow a lot of that conduct to go on. They make a ton of money selling alcohol. They sell it to fans who are clearly intoxicated and then there are problems.

Teams have actually cleaned a lot of that up, there are cameras everywhere now and if you act out of line, they toss you out and cancel your season tickets if you have them.

But your basic point stands; look no further than the NFL, a lot of the fans go mainly to tailgate and get annihilated.......................then stagger into the stadium and keep drinking.

Hopefully the guy who spit on Young at the Knicks game gets arrested. That's a crime and completely unacceptable. Not exactly sure how they keep a specific fans out of future events since anyone can buy a ticket from a variety of sources or go with someone else. Will they forever be on the lookout for this nitwit if he shows up at MSG? Almost every incident that I've seen at a sports event involved someone who was intoxicated. Many college football programs even stopped selling alcohol because the fights were getting out of hand. But there is a ton of money on the table when you can sell beer for $10+.

there was a wicked fight last night at the Astros game...
had short 2 game series...the Dodgers won the first game the night before...

I noticed game 2 had an unrealistic ton of blue in the stands...
then the chanting started... "cheaters...cheaters...cheaters"...
must of been planned there was so much blue (and gray)...
I heard them chanting cheaters throughout the game but never saw the fight...
they didn't show it on tv...
video below...

I saw the video on ESPN website this morning...
a Dodger fan in blue...whailed it out with two guys that I guess were Astro's fan...
he ruined one of them...guy was ferocious...gave him a major beat down...

can't understand how they let them bring trash cans in the stadium...^&grin

Lakers holding serve at home. AD and LeBron brought the hammer down in the second half. The Suns have no answer when that happens. None of the Laker role players are doing much, though. Kuzma is ice cold. Something like 1-11 last night. Pope was injured and hasn't been hitting his usual 3s. LeBron and AD only need a little help from those guys to be unbeatable.
