NBA Playoffs (1 Viewer)

So when the players start up again, in addition to the slogans they wear on the backs of their jerseys, will there also be slogans on their shorts, socks and sneakers too?

Maybe they can all wear headbands with slogans on them too to really make a statement.

At least we'll all know how woke they are, even if the majority of them can't identify more than two countries on a globe or solve a math problem a sixth grader can.

But hey, they know social injustice when they see it; well, when they can see over the stacks of money on their living room floor.......................

But I suppose somehow this is all Belicheats and Bradys fault; news flash, Brady is in Tampa now, so you can stop railing on him now.......................

You are mixing up things. No one ever suggested your heroes had anything to do with the NBA's protest. The reference to Shady and Belicheat was in response to your false conspiracy theory of "collusion" between the NBA and Lakers to obtain AD or getting calls. A baseless claim given that the Lakers ended up trading six players for AD including three first round picks and haven't been to the playoffs in eight years. Meanwhile your two guys were actually caught redhanded and punished by the NFL multiple times for cheating to win championships.

"Caught red handed"...…………..you call spygate and Deflategate "caught red handed?"

ONCE MORE; spygate was NOT ABOUT FILMING THE JETS SIDELINE, it was about WHERE THEY WERE FILMING FROM, IE, THE SIDELINES.

The memo the ginger haired stooge sent out said "No more filming from the sidelines"...…………….if they were filming from the press box, that would have been ok.

So it wasn't WHAT they did, but WHERE they did it from.

AFTER Spygate, the Patriots then went 15-0...………………..

Deflategate; the league spent SIX million dollars and the report concluded "There is no evidence of deflating footballs, no smoking gun but we conclude Brady was general aware of something going on."

Generally aware? Gee, I hope if I'm ever on trial for my ****ing life, the jury does not find me guilty with no evidence that I did anything, but I was generally aware...…………

In the first half of the AFCCG, the Patriots offense was sputtering, this with supposedly deflated footballs; in the second half with properly inflated footballs, they shredded the Colts defense.

With properly inflated footballs, they then went on to defeat a historically great Seahawks team/defense, including two touchdown drives in the fourth quarter with the game on the line.

So no cheating there either.

But hey, don't let the facts in either case get in the way of "The Patriots are cheaters" hill you want to die on.

Mother of God...………………………..

Oh and not to belabor this, but here goes; heroes?

Sorry, I haven't viewed any athlete as a hero since I was 12.

Really?

Heroes are police officers, fire fighters and EMT's, who risk their lives to save others, or doctors and nurses helping strangers with COVID.

Christ, I view the 76 year old grocery store bagger as a hero before I would Tom Brady or Bill Belichick.

And for about the 9th time; Brady no longer wears a Patriots jersey, so you can go full stop with "shady Brady" and all the other nonsense, he's the enemy now, same with that oaf Gronk, good riddance.

But I give him credit for this gem; "I thought it was one of the Colts' old tapes when they were pumping noise into the RCA dome."

Pumping IN crowd noise vs allegedly pumping air OUT of a football; now THAT'S cheating...….how many first round draft picks did those *******s get docked for that, helped them beat the Patriots in the 2006 AFCCG, they went on to win the SB, so THAT is what you call winning a championship by cheating, not the idiotic examples you mentioned.

You're not on my team, you're dead to me, I root for the name on the front, not the back, just like you welcomed LeFraud with open arms now that he's a Laker, who's ****ting who here.

And if your coach got fired tomorrow and Belichick quit on the Patriots and wanted to move to the left coast and he took the Rams coaching job, you'd have a sportsgasm, again who's ****ting who.

And you answered my question about the Lakers; they've sucked for 8 years, a four star franchise, so the league did what they had to do to make them relevent again.

Thanks for making my point.

Like a moth to a flame.

Over and over.

I don’t understand the comparison between the Patriots and Lakers?

The Patriot’s “scandals” did not involve the NFL helping them win any championships, quite the contrary actually.

The Lakers, and more directly LeBron, have clearly benefited from the NBA and their need to have him constantly in the finals.

31 NFL owners can't stand the Patriots and all of their success, so they have their stooge commissioner trump up charges and dock them draft picks.

Look no further than the latest incident; some cameraman who was in Cincinnati for a documentary and a LOCAL guy at that was filming the Bengals sideline during taping...………….the NFL got wind of it and docked the Patriots organization a 3rd round draft pick.

So some nitwit who's not even affiliated with the team does something and the Patriots have to pay for it.

That would be like if ESPN was in New England doing a piece on the Patriots and in the background was the Steelers sideline and the league fined the Patriots for that.

The other owners have mandated that the ginger haired stooge come down on the Patriots every chance he gets to level the playing field.

And the league wants that crybaby in the finals year in and year out for ratings; do you honestly think people will tune in to watch the Bucks and the Rockets/Nuggets/some other tomato can; no, they want LeBron and the Lakers in the finals...………………..1 + 1 = 2.

You left out "teachers" who not only shape our future but now have to risk their lives to teach in this pandemic.
Very few sports figures are heroes to me.......maybe Jackie Robinson who had to endure violence and slander to open up the majors for African Americans and did it with dignity and courage

[FONT=Roboto, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, Segoe UI, Oxygen, Ubuntu, Cantarell, Fira Sans, Droid Sans, Helvetica Neue, sans-serif]Well with the Bucks down 0-3 and barring a miracle/massive choke job by the Heat, this could be a huge flame out; with Giannis due for a new contract/super max deal, rumors are swirling he will refuse the max deal and force a trade.

I'll go WAY OUT on a limb and say he ends up on the Lakers.................................if that happens, mark it down in pen now; I'll be in the market for a new TV as my current one will be out the picture window and onto the front lawn.....................................and a new picture window.

Now Giannis is hurt and may not play.

Would have preferred a Lakers Bucks final, that way Giannis could pull a Durant and sign with the Lakers after “losing” to them.

Sorry, even though I am a Warriors fan, Durant going to Golden State after getting embarrassed and ousted by them was a terrible look. However it was a great insight into so many things that are wrong with the already horribly predictable NBA.

Yeah I bet the league is just salivating over a Lakers/Heat final, or Lakers/Raptors; WOW, what excitement..................

I'm impressed with Boston and certainly Miami showed they are hungry. Could be Celtics and Clippers......

Houston and LA is a great series. The Rockets hit 22 3 pointers and still lost game two. There is a ridiculous level of talent in the NBA. The Bucks look like they are on the way out down 1-3.

I haven't watched the NBA since the early 90's but curious, are there still any defensive-minded teams....guys that will contest every shot no matter where its taken from?

Not really. It's almost impossible to defend five guys with NBA talent on the court. There are players who can drill three pointers from well beyond the line. Even the big guys can handle the balls and shoot threes. Incredible talent. LeBron is basically playing point guard for the Lakers at his NFL size. There are a few shot blockers but the refs call a foul with any contact. So they have to pick their opportunities.

The Bucks are gone setting up the NBA's plan for the Celts to go to the finals. LOL. I felt bad for the Bucks. They have the best record in the league then the virus strikes and it's basically a whole new season. And then they lose the MVP to an injury.

An article here yesterday suggested some sports promoter in Brisbane was thinking might get Lakers and Le Bron James to come over here to play a game. I hope it does not happen as only USA should suffer from his presence.

I watched bits and pieces of the game last night, the last few minutes and then the two OT's.............

A few observations;

The Lakers should look into signing afew of the Raptors, specifically that ballbag Lowry, he does more diving than the US Olympic diving team, he's got the "snap my head back and fall to the floor like I'm shot" move down pat.

On one drive to the basket, a Celtic got mugged, no call, another basically got tackled on another play, no call, that whiny two year old Nurse was WAY down the baseline on one offensive transition for the Celtics, Tatum looked confused and actually passed him the ball, talk about bush league, the announcers harped on it for 10 minutes.

Then on a blatant foul, Nurse challenged it, naturally it got overturned.

Tatum drove to the basket, his arm grazed a Raptor, the guy fell to the court like he was shot, technical foul on the Celtics.

Then a Raptor drove to the basket, extended his elbow al la LeFraud, knocking the defender backwards, the defender ended up getting the foul, basket and one shot three point play that never should have happened.

Sorry; this league is hot garbage, totally unwatchable, for the referees to become the story is criminal, they basically handed Toronto the game.

It's disgusting; reminds me of the scene from Remember the Titans when the refs were in the bag vs Boone and his assistant and were throwing flags all over the field.

What a disgrace, good job Silver......................

That's what I feared- just offensive exhibitions. I enjoyed the basketball of the Eastern conference in the 80's and early 90's. Some of those clubs were so dynamic defensively. Even guys coming off the bench could be considered stoppers. Every basket had to be earned. To me it doesn't quite add up that you can have such immensely incredible offensive talent but somehow lack defensive talent. It's the same athletes after all. A great athlete who studies the opponent, has good feet, instincts, knows where his help is, and has a willingness to compete can defend their position well. If you have the offensive skills to be great, you can also be just as great defensively if you have the will. It sounds like there's a different mindset now.

Yes, it's a different game today. I remember those brutal Celtic and Piston teams from the 80s. Head hunters like Kevin McHale. Danny Ainge once bit a guy's finger. They would ban him from the league today and cry for weeks. But I have to say that no big guy in those days had the skills of players like LeBron or AD or many others. As great as they were in their day, players of that size like Chamberlain or Barkley were just post up players. They used power and size to score and rebound in the paint. Today a seven foot guy can play point guard and shoot three pointers. The skill level is unreal. Whether that is good or ill for the sport is subjective.

The Lakers put a major beatdown on Houston last night. I'm really surprised that the Rockets seem to be giving up.
