NBA Playoffs (2 Viewers)

I watched that game...
Houston plays a small line up...
really showed in rebounds...
they also live and die on the 3 pointer...
averaging 53% of their shots per game...
Caruso had some clutch shots last night...
he is soooooooooo white (snow white) and with that purple head band...
he just looks so out of place on the court...^&grin...kind of comical but had a huge game...
Houston made it interesting in the 4th quarter...

also...rough night for Houston fans...
Astros lost...Texans lost...Rockets lost...the hat trick...

Scott Foster has drawn the referee assignment in game 7 tonight, Celtics/Maple Leafs, thus ensuring a Heat/Maple Leafs eastern conference final, ie, eliminating the last team that has a shot at beating LeFraud and Unibrow, those two should take the court just by themselves, they could win the title with 3 cardboard cut outs out there.

Won't be long now before the Lakers have more NBA championships than the Celtics, like you get some sort of added prize for that.

That's just all sorts of awesome.

Gee, I would have thought with Sampson and Olajuwon out there, Houston would have done better with rebounding.

Is Rudy Tomjonovich still on the team or is he still recovering from Kermit Washington sucker punching him and breaking his face?

Yes, it's a different game today. I remember those brutal Celtic and Piston teams from the 80s. Head hunters like Kevin McHale. Danny Ainge once bit a guy's finger. They would ban him from the league today and cry for weeks. But I have to say that no big guy in those days had the skills of players like LeBron or AD or many others. As great as they were in their day, players of that size like Chamberlain or Barkley were just post up players. They used power and size to score and rebound in the paint. Today a seven foot guy can play point guard and shoot three pointers. The skill level is unreal. Whether that is good or ill for the sport is subjective.

"Headhunters like McHale........Danny Ainge once bit a guy's finger".............

Gee you knock one guy on his ***, change the whole momentum of the series and all of a sudden you're a head hunter?

Yeah, those Celtics teams of the 80's were known as headhunters.................:rolleyes2:

Mother of God.

And the Pistons were as pure as the driven snow, right?...^&confuse

Keep up the mediocre work.......................

This was posted on Twitter last night;

"The four Boston sports teams have now been to a combined 29 Conference championship games/series (playoff final 4) over the last 20 years."

Yup TWENTY NINE conference championship games/series...................
:wink2:{sm3}^&grin{sm4}^&cool

TWENTY NINE.

Another good conspiracy theory blown. I've lost track. The NHL, NBA, and NFL games are all fixed. And the only time a Beantown team can lose is because of the refs. I thought you weren't watching these games?

NFL games aren't fixed, unless the Patriots are playing because according to you, they cheated their way to 18 division titles, 13 AFCCG's, 9 Super Bowls and 6 Super Bowl wins.

Now that Shady Brady is in the NFC, I suppose he'll cheat his way to a Super Bowl win.

The NBA was rigged in the 1990s, Stern mandated to the refs that he wanted series to go 7 games and referees more often than not decide the outcome of games with ticky tack bullshit calls, just ask the Sacramento Kings the year they got screwed royally in the playoffs, same with NHL referees with calls they make, or more to the point, how they swallowed their whistles in the finals last year and let the Blues get away with murder.

Ask Paul how he feels about Foster, it's miracle he did not help decide the outcome of that game last night.

Good luck with the march of the tomato cans on your way to a fraud championship.

George...

what's the matter...why do you feel the need to rain on this?
I'm personally enjoying the Laker's run...
it's been a long time for Laker's fans...
sorry you can't find any enjoyment in any sports and feel they are all rigged...
and what's it really matter in the grand scheme of things if the Lakers have more championships than the Celtics?
whoever wins the championship this year is as deserving as any team in history...
everyone is playing the same format and by the same rules...

You'd think after knowing a person for 5 or so years, you'd know when they are being sarcastic.

I guess not.

And I'd think being from Texas, you'd be a Rockets/Spurs/Mavericks fan, they've all won championships, so it's not like you've had to hitch your wagon to a winner because your local teams suck.

Again, I guess not.

And in the grand scheme of things, I could give two ****s how many championships the Lakers, Celtics or any other team wins.

My life is not impacted one bit either way.

So relax.

The ratings for the NBA playoffs are horrible, people are sick and tired of being bashed over the head with political statements, boycotts, protests and anything else pro athletes are up to.

Get on the field/rink/court, play the game and STFU already, I don't give a rats *** what any of them think.

They're are a bunch of entitled millionaires playing a game in the middle of a worldwide pandemic.

If the Celtics lose and the Lakers win, don't worry, I'll somehow find the strength to carry on.

yea...

the only reason I mentioned that was because you posted comment above on a previous comment...
you seemed at little disgruntled at the thought...

I was born in Dallas...I live in Galveston...I have no love for any Houston sport's teams other than the Astros...
I became a Laker's fan as a kid...way before the Mavs were even a team...by then I was 25 years old...

Texas is big...San Antonio is not a 15 minute drive for me...hardly my hometown...

I’m not gonna get into this too deep…it’s just not that big a deal to me when you discount teams accomplishments other than the Boston sport’s teams…

I'm pretty relaxed right now...hope you can chill a bit too...if you hate all these sports so much...maybe you could find something else to watch...

Yeah I'm not disgruntled, them winning more championships than anyone else does not diminish what the Celtics did and again, you get no prize for being the all time winningest whoever.

Thanks for the history lesson on your fandom.

And yeah, it's best if you don't get into this too deep.

I'm fine, it's Saturday night, had another killer week saleswise, I'm enjoying some adult beverages right now, tomorrow the NFL starts for real around these parts, I love Cam Newton, a flamboyant, larger than life personality, we'll see one way or another what he's got left in the tank.

I don't hate sports, you keep missing my meaning/points/overall point of view.

Over and over and over.

Adios for now, I'm out.

good post George...
glad business is kicking...
whatever you do...
enjoy yourself!

Thanks Mike........................have fun tomorrow, I know how much you love football......

Local guy here has Bucs/Steelers in the Super Bowl, Brady as league MVP, offensive player of the year, Gronkowski as comeback player of the year.

Nice try by that local guy.

According to the NFL Network Patrick Mahomes is going to win MVP, offensive and defensive player of the year, comeback player of the year and rookie of the year (offensive and defensive).

Also worth noting, according to every NFL media expert, Andy Reid is going to create the COVID-19 vaccine.

Finally, just to keep this on topic, I am absolutely shocked that the Lakers have made it to the Western Conference Finals.

I was glad to see the Buffalo Braves (aka Clippers) choke away that series. Leonard had no intention of going to the Lakers and being a third wheel but he strung them along knowing he was going to the Clips. Doc Rivers apparently spent too much time concerning himself with politics and not enough coaching basketball. He is now the only NBA coach to lose a playoff series three times (count 'em) when his team was up 3-1. I saw about ten seconds of the Celts/Heat game and Boston was up big. They apparently found a way to lose. Didn't recognize a single player on either team.

What an epic gag job, not only did they choke, they gave up in the 4th quarter, Doc should stay in the bubble.

Well with Poland and Denmark down, only Norway and France stand in LeBron, Unibrow and 10 cardboard cut outs way of another title.

Butler and 11 tomato cans beat the Celtics last night, they blew not only a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter but they were up 5 with about a minute to go and blew it, had a chance to win at regulation, their last shot/set play was horrendous.

I wouldn't know any of them if I fell over them; oh wait, former Celtics Crowder and Olynyk are on the team..............funny, two guys that look like them were bagging groceries at the supermarket on my last trip there, two corpses.

Just spare me the foolishness of getting blitzkrieged in the finals and lose to the Heat already..............

I had a front row seat to the Leonard drama in San Antonio. All the Spurs did was develop him into a superstar. Then they had the nerve to tell him to take his time returning from injuries. To add to all that they offered him a max contract worth more than $100 mil more than any other team could. Then he left for free agency, blaming everyone he could for his departure.

I am so sad to see him get bounced by an inferior team, albeit an inferior team that will never beat the Lakers.

Even Magic Johnson who is a pretty even tempered guy felt burned by the way Leonard went about his free agency. He strung the Lakers along to keep them from signing other players when he had no intention of ever signing with them. Here is Magic's tweet (no love lost here):

The Clippers choked again.

They choked against Houston in 2015 and they choked tonight against the Denver Nuggets.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Or with a bit of salt, pepper and grated cheese.

So tonight the Celtics ran the Heat out of the building in the first half, up 13.................stretched that lead to 14 with about 10 minutes left the third quarter..........................

End of the third quarter Miami 84-77; a TWENTY ONE @#$%ING point swing, just beyond embarrassing.

As wildly successful as Boston sports teams have been the past 20 years, they conversely have this horrendous habit of losing to teams they have zero business losing to; 2007, 2011, 2017 Super Bowls, 2008 ALCS, 2019 Stanley Cup Finals, now this...............

The Heat are NOT a good team, period.

All I can say is I sincerely hope the Lakers demolish the Heat...........anything less than a sweep and I'll be disappointed..........................
