Carter FTs should seal the deal. Poor free throw shooting by OSU cost them the game. Chris

It's over. We inbound, they foul, we make1of 2, game over.
Skin o' the teeth, again. Terps looked really good in the 1st half, working inside and shooting only from long range when needed, but went away from it completely in the 2nd half. Why? Stone, Carter, and Layman had 28 points between them in the 1st half and only 8 in the 2nd. Free throws and decent rebounding saved them. Pound it inside and they look good, bombs away, not so much. -- Al

Al, trying hard not to sound bad with a win and a 19-3 record. BUT, Terps will have to play better in the tournament. Having this much trouble with a very mediocre to poor team such as OSU does not give me a lot of confidence. Especially with the March record of UM. :redface2: Chris

As we used to say in Cole, "Amen!".^&grin -- Al

As far as basketball programs go UMD has to be the best all around as they are the only school whose men's and women's teams are in the top 10.

No one talks about that sort of thing but it is impressive.

Terp women are, if anything, more successful than the men. -- Al

Terps, men, are #4 in two polls. :smile2: Oklahoma and Kansas barley win. #2 UNC goes down to Louisville last night. Season in a high state of flux. ^&grin GO TERPS!! Chris

Words cannot describe what I just saw in the last minute of the MD-Nebraska game. MD up by one at the half. Another struggle. Chris

Skin o' the teeth...again. Game after game, it's a struggle. A blizzard of turnovers and some inconsistent play again, this time from Carter, who had 0 points from the field, and beaten on the offensive boards, again. Well, a win is a win is a win, but it's not helping my BP.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Close wins is what UMd does, apparently, whether it's good for my nerves or not. They are 19-2 in games decided by 6 or fewer points over the last 2 seasons. Where's my aspirin... -- Al

I figured it out..the Terps are the anti-Ravens as in instead of losing almost every close game the Terps win them!!!! just like Seinfeld said sooner or later it all balances out! :)...Sammy

I'm with you guys regarding any W is good. :wink2: My concern is the Terps haven't played a good game since the first OSU win, and I'm not talking about a blow out. UM needs to control the game and not have to claw their way to a win against inferior opponents. I missed most of the first half of last night's game, so I didn't have to cringe at the 13 turnovers. This bad habit of having to come from behind in the last few minutes is going to catch up with them against good tournament teams. We played a team barely above .500 last night.

Still, we are the 2nd team to reach 20 wins this season. :salute:: We can play our way into a #1 seed IF we were to play to potential. We're the team to beat in the Big 10. BTW, I was not impressed with Iowa in the UM game. Only game I've seen them this season, maybe they had an off night (sorry Pete :wink2:).

GO TERPS!! Chris

The Big 10 is to college basketball what the SEC is to college football. Last night there was the aforementioned UMD v. Nebraska game which went down to the wire and there was also the Illinois v. Rutgers game that went into triple OT. I have no loyalty to any team in the conference, I just like to watch competitive college basketball and right now the Big 10 is serving up those types of games on a regular basis.
