Great come back by the Terps!!!
It was spectacular and the type of game the Terps usually find themselves on the wrong end of. Terps trailed by 7 with 1 minute to go and managed to win it by 1. Nice win, especially against Georgetown. -- Al

Not ready to start waving the "Fear the Turtle" flag just yet, but Maryland beats a solid OSU tonite in a shoot out, 8-1 with some good wins tossed in there with a few gimme's the young Terps might surprise some people...including me.

Sammy, this year's Terps are really walking a tightrope. This was the 6th time they have had to come from behind in the 2nd half to win the game. I don't have enough BP medicine on hand to watch the whole game, so I am going to just start watching the last 5 minutes. I'm pretty sure I can last that long with bursting a blood vessel or something. One thing for sure, they are being tempered by the fires of adversity. :rolleyes2::wink2:^&grin -- Al

Some solid wins in the last week for a young Terp squad, beating Indiana tonight!! 15-2 not to shabby.

They haven't been bad, with the exception of the Nebraska choke job. They have been ignored by the polls though, probably because of the many close games they have played. Trimble is the man, plus I like that new kid, Huerter, and Dodd has played well, even though hurt. They have been better than I had expected them to be. -- Al

Maryland is currently in second place in the Big 10. That is impressive considering that conference is pretty tough.

Shh...Northwestern may be playing well enough to get into the Big Dance for the first time. They've been in the NCAA 78 years. Never once made it. They are 3-2 in the Big 10 after beating Rutgers last night, and that's with only one home game so far.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled NCAA conversation. I don't want to jinx things.{sm5}

The Terps are a 2-loss team that can't crack the polls. If it weren't for that horrid fold job against Nebraska, the Terps would be undefeated in the Big 10, leading the Big 10, and would have been in the top 25. They are very young and aren't getting any notice yet. -- Al

This is a rebuilding year for GW. They fired the coach because of the way he treated the players and although the interim coach is doing what he can, I'm sure that they will bring in someone new for next year.

The Terps are starting to give me an ulcer. They beat Illinois 62-56 tonight, which sounds like a decent win. Terps trailed by 12 in the 1st half and by 5 at the break. Finally got control of the game and went up by 10 with 6 minutes left. They then proceeded to forget how to shoot again, just like against Nebraska. Terps scored 1 (one, el solo) FG the rest of the way in their last 15 possessions. They managed to hit 7-11 FTs in that period, but if Illinois had been able to hit their shots, this game could have gone the other way. UMd scored 0 points in the last 5 minutes of the Nebraska loss, and only the FT's saved them in this game. I know they're young, but I'm not.:rolleyes2: -- Al

The Terps 16-2 record has finally gotten some recognition as they are now ranked #25 in both polls. Congrats to the Terps, regardless of how long it lasts. -- Al

Al:

They are on the up and up, I don't think there are too many high ranked teams that would want to face them early in the tournament.

Terps immediately tried to throw their new ranking down the drain tonight, doing a grand job of folding in the 2nd half. Fortunately, team leader Trimbo got it in gear, scoring 9 of his 20 points in the last 3 or so minutes and enabling UMd to hold on for the 84-76 win. I'm not sure I'm on board with the UMd strategy of throwing away 2nd half leads. It will come back to bite them. -- Al

the young Terps just keep a knocking, beat Ohio St. to go to 20-2 with a bunch of victories on the road, I hope they keep the "under the radar' thing going, seems to suit them better then the high ranking headlines stuff.

I agree, but the 'under the radar' is beginning to disappear with their latest #17 ranking in the polls. It's hard to believe that their freshman keep playing so well, game after game on the road. Jackson and Huerter are just playing lights out right now. -- Al

Terps penchant for blowing 2nd half leads cost them the game today. Blew a 12 point lead in the 2nd and lost by one point to Purdue. Too bad. They have now lost 2 games they should have won. Live and learn. -- Al

Must be in the air, the Falcons seemed to have followed the Terps' example. .

Maryland vs Northwestern tonight. Big game for both teams. I know there is one NWU fan on here. Go Terps! Chris

A well played game for the Terps. Northwestern is a bit lost without Lindsey (out with mono), but we get him back on Saturday against Rutgers. If we hadn't won on Sunday against Wisconsin I would be in full on panic mode now! Barring an utter collapse, we should get in the Big Dance for the first time...ever!

Oh, and it's NU, not NWU. We're a bit sensitive that way...

Terps, especially Trimble, played decent but once again tried to throw away a big lead. Up by 20 at one point in the 2nd half, UMd let NU back in game to the point where NU had a chance to cut the lead to 6, but couldn't quite do it. Bad habit of UMd and it's gonna cost them. -- Al
