Weak second half play will cost the Terps in both tournaments as Al mentioned. Congrats to NU on getting to the bid dance this yr and good luck against Rutgers. Chris

NU beat Rutgers, congrats. Terps go down to Wisconsin. :rolleyes2: Not surprised. Trimble couldn't do it all by himself. Chris

That's for sure. Trimble tried, and had an excellent game, but even Turgeon realized he wasn't getting any help and thus pulled Trimble for the final 4/5 minutes of the game, just to try and save him a little. Not a stellar effort by the Terps. -- Al

This is a new Northwestern. We played the whole game with no energy and couldn't buy a basket, but somehow found a way to pull it out at the end. That's what good teams do...keep fighting even on down nights. I'm not used to it from the Wildcats. We now have 9 wins, our most B1G 10 wins since...1933!

NU wins over Mich with a buzzer beater lay up. Now 21-9, is this the yr to go to the Big dance? Think so.
Meanwhile, the Terps end a 3 game slide. :rolleyes2: Chris

UM Terps vs NU tonight, game on! UM very shaky coming down the stretch but I'll go out on a limb and pick them by 2. I think they're two and out in both tournaments. What do you guys think? Chris

Don't want to be pessimistic about the Terps, but it's a learned response over 5 decades. Two and out sounds right. -- Al

Congrats to Northwestern. Never seen anyone run off 31 straight points against an opponent like they did in the 1st half last night. Impressive. -- Al

I'm hoping the 'Cats win last night allowed for a bit of rest so we have fresh legs tonight. Scotty Lindsey is finally back to form, which takes the pressure off B-Mac and Law. I think we just might be a good team!

Should be close tonight. I have my purple (and Northwestern gnome) ready to go!!

The Terps might still do some damage in the Tournament. Look at Syracuse last year. They were a #10 seed with many experts saying that seeding was much too high for them and they would get knocked out in the first round. They ended up going to the Final Four.

Jason, anything is possible and the Terps are capable of going on a tear, but they are just too inconsistent to make it probable. But I would love to see them catch fire and play well. -- Al

Just not tonight :)

Holy Cow! The 'Cats are on to the Semis for the first time ever.

When we were down by 10 in the 2nd half (and looking awful) I figured we'd run out of gas. That's when they turned on the defense.

Bring on the Badgers.

Oh well. Another game, another double-digit second half lead blown, another loss. What a shock. Same old problem all year. Congrats to you, Pete, your team played very well. -- Al

Congrats Pete, good luck to NU in the rest of the Big Ten and the NCAA tournaments. They will be my second team to cheer for.

This was only the second Terp game in 14 months I tried to watch and had to turn off after about 10 min. Count this former UM fan as finally DONE after 47 grueling yrs. Now, off to watch the Wildcats later today, the UK version. :smile2: Chris
