The Wisconsin game was pretty wild for awhile yesterday. Wisconsin kept raining threes on the Orange but they fell in love with it and couldn't get any points inside. Still, with 15 seconds they had the ball down by one and couldn't get off a decent shot. The Orange were lucky to escape.

Syracuse keeps getting lucky. Wisc shot an amazing number of 3s. Chris

UK wins the rematch with IU by 12. Baylor matches up very well with UK. Chris

Couple of good games. Glad to see Louisville get in and to see OSU get in, as well. OSU has had a rough year. Besides, the Orange's luck couldn't last forever. Like to see KU & UNC round it out. -- Al

Hi Al, Louisville getting in must have messed up quite a few brackets. Lot of folks here were unhappy with Pitino just a few weeks ago. Cards really turned it around starting with the Big East Tournament.

UK faces Baylor today, who will be their biggest challenge so far. They should match up fairly even. Of course the whole state is holding it's collective breath to see if they get the UK-UofL matchup in the Final Four. Chris

You had to figure that at some point the Orange's luck would run out. Same thing probably happens to UNC today.

Well, I was wrong about the Baylor UK matchup. UK wins by 12 but it was not really that close. Cats coasted at the end and the win was never in doubt. Louisville vs UK in the Final Four. Will the Cards contiune to surprise everyone? Chris

Chris, Lady Terps pulled out a good one against TTU. Terps trailed by 18 in the first half and still by 12 inside 10 minutes to play. Went on a 21-4 streak the last 7-8 minutes to win by 7. Now they get ND, which massacred the Bonnies by 44. Terps won't survive a slow start against ND. -- Al

Hi Al, just saw the highlights on Sportscenter and was going to post when I read your entry. Don't know why the Terps are struggling a bit but an awesome comeback. Chris

No Final Four for the women's Terps this yr Al. You called it in your post. ND buzz sawed MD 80-49. {sm5} Thomas made 1st team AA. March melt downs continue for Lady Terps. Chris

I watched most of the game and it was no contest from the start. Terps just fell behind, couldn't slow ND down, and the Irish just never looked back. As with so many other things, there is always next year. -- Al

Hi Al, not reallly a baskeball entry but the football thread is not showing. Danny Obrien signed with Wisc. Be interesting to see how he works out there. Wish him good luck with the new school. Don't think he was utilized very well last season. Chris

Hi Chris. Losing O'brien will hurt. Not sure the football program is headed in the right direction. On the subject of b-ball, there is a big article in the Washington Post Sports section today about the 10th anniversary of UMd's National Championship. Good article, including a 'where are they now' section. Pull it up on the Post's internet site. You will enjoy it. -- Al

It is a nice article, nostalgia may be all we have for a while. When I get frustrated with the Terps, I stop and think, oh yeah, we won the title in '02.

Anthony Davis from UK is voted AP player of the yr. Chris

Yeah ok, anyway, back to the NCAA mens championship; Kentucky is a machine, pure and simple, they toyed with Louisville and everytime they got close, they stepped on the gas and that was that.

This team would give the Heat a run for their money.................

Congratulations to Kentucky and Kansas. A couple of the countries best programs square off. I think the Wildcats got this locked, based on what I've seen. -- Al

I'm a huge Kentucky fan, not a fan at all of Kansas, so they are now a lock to upset Kentucky, destroy my bracket and annoy me times two........

Hey Chris, congratulations to Wildcat country on their school's 8th B-ball NCAA Championship. Not bad. I should have bet the farm.^&cool -- Al

Great win last night, what a team that is, too bad it will be gutted now with most of those kids heading off to the NBA, but replacements via recruiting will step up and we'll see what happens.

The only negative to all of this is I saw where everytime Kentucky wins the championship, my "favorite" baseball team, the NYY, win the world series as well.

Into every life a little rain must fall, or in this case, a monsoon.........................

Thanks Al, it was a great yr for the Cats. Quite a few anxious moments when Kansas pulled within 5! {sm2} Cal said he pulled the reins in during second half. Nearly fatal decision if true. We need to enjoy the moment as first six players in the lineup are probably going pro. Chris
