The ultimate irony; in the same building last year, Bama switched QB's when behind and won the game, they did the same thing this year.

If the QB on the fake punt looked to his left, the punter or whoever that player was had the edge, there was no outside containment there, had he pitched the ball to him, he'd still be running.
I don't get the mentality of a trick play in that spot, just punt the ball and pin them deep, let your defense stop them and play for OT.
They fooled no one as Bama still had their base defense in on the play.
