My Sooners are going to finish 11-1 and out of the playoffs.
Can't see anyway they get in; if OSU beats Michigan and beats Northwestern next week, they'll get it, if they lose today and Michigan beats Northwestern, they're in.
It's Bama, Clemson, ND and the 11 game march of the tomato cans and either Michigan or OSU.
Bummer.
So should they not even play the SEC Championship game?
So should they not even play the SEC Championship game?
If Georgia beats Bama, you crowing on here afterward will be worth the loss, because Bama is still getting in, but your crowing will be legendary.
We're talking epic.
Sort of like the crowing you did when the Falcons beat the...………..
RISE UP!!
"Speaking of crow, how’d your home state squad Unov of Mass fare against the lowly dawgs last week?"
UMass has been a division 1 squad for a whopping five years; they won the Division 1AA title back in 1998, 18 years prior to that is when Georgia last won a title. Matt Murphy, the owner of Hobby Bunker, was a placekicker on that team, which was pretty cool, good for Matt, I'm happy for him.
I'm not a fan of UMass, I don't root for college teams because they compete in the state I reside in, I know a lot of southerners latch onto the local college even though they did not attend, like Bama fans, Auburn fans, Georgia fans, LSU fans, etc, etc.
I root for OU, Michigan and Alabama, been a fan of all three teams since childhood, I've stuck with all of them through thick and thin, I also root for Kentucky in basketball.
If any of them win titles, like OU has in football, Michigan has in hockey and basketball, Alabama has in football and Kentucky has in basketball, good for the school, good for the players, good for the students, good for the alumni, doesn't change my life one bit.
I didn’t attend UGA but I have rooted for them since high school, late 70/s. While one can say I latched on, my undergrad school was Div III and my graduate school has no football team. So geographically its either UGA or Ga Tech. I tend to root for both, and depending on who’s having the better season, when the play one another. As I’ve had good friends graduate and play football at either school, miy support is certainly reasonable. The other option is I could just not support any Div 1 school, which seems lame.
I’m around numerous Roll Tide fans in Atlanta. In fact right now I’m watching with my brother and his wife, her son is a Sophomore there. But I’m rooting for Auburn. I had a girlfriend who was an Auburn grad and a serious War **** Eagle, with whom I attended numerals games in Opeleika.
Anyone else crazy enough to watch the LSU v Texas A&M OT travesty last night? Tuned in after the ND/USC game when it was in the 2nd OT. I refused to give up, being sure one of the teams would make a defensive stop. I should have known better. Was finally decided on a missed 2-point conversion in the 7th OT with A&M winning 74-72. A rather ridiculous display and begs the return of a one period Sudden Death OT. -- Al
My Trojans are hanging tough so far. I had complete confidence in them! LOL. I still expect ND to put a beating on them but they are at least giving them a game. More than I expected given how poorly they have played all season and with a ton of injuries on D. They haven't gotten a break all year on video review or turnovers. Maybe they are due.
ND game had me biting my nails all night. I knew despite the injuries the Trojans would put up a good fight. Thank goodness ND pulled it off. Rivalry games are so unpredictable. Onward to the playoffs. I just hope its not Alabama first.
Watching Bama, I'm beginning to wonder if anyone but Clemson or UGa are even capable of giving them a game, much less beating them. And I even wonder about Clemson and UGa, but those games still must be played... -- AlThe Irish had a great season. They are going to have to lift their game significantly, however, to play with Clemson or Bama or its going to be real ugly. USC was depleted on D and had a horrible offense. They had walk on players in the secondary.
They were run over by finesse teams like UCLA. I couldn't believe the Irish didn't just bulldoze them off the field. SC is like a pee wee league team compared to Bama.

This is probably the most dominate Bama team under Saban. Maybe the best college football team of all time. NFL caliber. The backup QB has over 20 wins as a starter. I suppose anything is possible in college football, but I don't see anyone beating them. Clemson and Georgia might have a chance, but Davy Crockett had a chance at the Alamo. On the rare occasion when Bama has lost under Saban it has been to teams that can play physical and disrupt their offense. They might score a hundred against weaker Oklahoma or ND teams. Even if they lose to Georgia, they likely still make the playoff as one of the top four teams.
