The history of absolute incompetency surrounding athletics at UMd is astounding. Thinking back, I now remember the Bob Ward controversy in respect to his tenure as head coach of the football team in 67 and 68 and how he was forced out in 69. No support from AD Kehoe, as is typical of UMd AD's. It's a wonder anything good manages to come out of there but it has. -- AlAs many of you know, I disavowed my Alma Mater because of the Ralph Friedgen debacle and the way he was treated and then the subsequent James Franklin screw up. As Al said, UMD bad decisions go back to Bobby Ross and Left Driesell. SO, why would this be any different? It should have been. The entire coaching staff should have been fired and the house should have been rebuilt. The fact that Jordan McNair died on their watch is inexcusable as well as it is a systematic and individual failure, they all should have been gone. IMO.
