Don't disagree, people are nuts. I still do not see how that player was not ejected. It was a pure definition of targeting in some ways, kid literally took 4 steps after the play was over, Hunter never saw him coming. I think the Colorado State coach is also to blame. He is either a complete idiot or a diabolical genius based on his comments about this hit. I usually never look into something like this in such detail, but I have to tell you I am convinced this was not an accident after reviewing the footage over again. It is blatant, also the actions of this player the entire game looks like he is on a witchunt, it is several attempts at dirty plays. I would like to think the kid is not the guilty party here and it is coaching, but who knows, people are nuts. One last further comment - if I was the coach and it was all the player, I would suspend my own player, that is how blatant this was.

Tom:

Great post and I agree with all of it. I have the utmost respect for your college football insights.

Tip of the cap to Coach Sanders for condemning the death threats against the CSU player. He showed me a lot with his comments.

Wild day - FSU finally got rid of the Clemson curse, exciting finish. Colorado rant into a buzz saw in Oregon. LSU in dogfight in Arkansas, but looks like they will pull it out. Notre Dame Ohio State snoozer is finally getting interesting. AND.......Hook em Horns - 4-0 shortly.

Tom

I thought Dabo was going to get the award for worst coach of the day, but then ND had only ten defenders on the field for the last two plays of the Ohio State game. Unreal. Imagine playing such a hard fought and enormous game but when it came down to the final play not having all your players on the field. I think ND even called a TO before those plays. Great game, though.

Colorado and Deion got taken to the woodshed as expected. They play USC at home next week. You never want to play a team that has just gotten blown out. USC also looked like the old Clay "Gomer" Helton team last night with the penalties and terrible defense. They are likely going to lose three or more games with the upcoming schedule including road games in Colorado, Notre Dame, and Oregon. And games against Washington, Utah, and UCLA. I can see them losing five of those games.

USC is something like a 20+ point favorite over Colorado this weekend. I don't bet but if I did, I would be putting my money on the Buffs. At home with a chip on their shoulder. We've all seen that movie before. I've also watched every USC game. Sadly, they are wildly overrated. The defense is not much better than last year. Without Caleb Williams who is a generational talent, they would be a .500 team. Both SC and Colorado play soft D, blow assignments, and give up big plays. This game will be a shootout. SC may still win but I doubt it will be by three of more TDs.

The predicts:

Colorado 41 USC 38 - I hate to pick against my Trojans and Williams but this game has all the trappings for an upset. The ridiculous 10AM kickoff which will be 9AM PST. The Buffs have heard all week about the blowout loss last week. USC was a hot mess against an undermanned ASU team. They haven't played a decent team this year. On the road with the crowd in a frenzy. The USC D is awful. USC will give up a ton of points in a shootout and come up short.

Oregon St. 24 Utah 20 -The sand finally runs out of glass on the road. The Utes have no offense. The Beavs win ugly.

Ole Miss 30 LSU 28 - Lame Kiffin and Ole Miss looked awful against Bama. They get a bounce back upset at home.

ND 41 Duke 17- The Irish will put a beatdown on Duke after that choke job they pulled last week. They can even play with 10 players like they did on the game deciding play against Ohio St.

I like the over in this one.

Caleb Williams throws 6 TDs and USC barely hangs on to win. No lead is safe with their horrible D. Deion was the MVP. That was the worst clock management that I have ever seen on the last Colorado drive. Down 14 with no TOs, he runs the ball several times and his O runs the play clock on every single play.

My favorite SC fan comment after the game: The USC defensive nickname should be the "Southern Border" because they can't stop anyone.

Good thing I listened to you and stayed away from this game; I almost took the giving 21 cheese, but you're my go to guy for USC opinions....................worse yet, I almost teased that game with Kansas/Texas, now I find out the Kansas QB, the preseason pick for conference offensive player of the year has back issues and did not start/probably won't play.

Gee, poor Texas, they never get any breaks....................

was at the Texas game, what an atmosphere, wow. Really cool and they won. Texas moved the ball at will, KS had one big or exciting play. Other than that, it looked like a technical scrimmage. Next week is the big on against Oklahoma. That is going to be a tough match and I can see Texas being upset.

Nope, not happening.

There are three certainties in life; death, taxes and OU losing the red river shoot out and blowing their season.

And I say that as a diehard OU fan, been one since the mid 1970's when they ran the wishbone under coach Switzer.

Some tough games to pick this week.

Texas 41 Oklahoma 30 - It pains me to pick Sark to win but he has the Horns playing well. Hopefully I've put the jinx on him.

Georgia 27 Kentucky 17 - Kentucky is playing well. The Dawg offense looks ordinary. Should be a competitive game but at home Georgia wins.

Bama 34 Texas A&M 14 - This could be an upset on the road but even a lousy Bama team wins against Jimbo.

Maryland 24 Ohio State 17 - The Terps are playing well. The Bucks have post ND win hangover. MD shocks the world!

What a great game, what a goal line stand by the Sooners, that game winning TD throw was money.

Can't believe they won.

Boomer Sooner baby.

Sweet revenge after that complete *** kicking last year,

Congrats to OK. It was a great game, just hard to swallow on this side when you have the ball 4 times on the 1 and can't score, you kind of don't deserve to win and that is taking nothing away from Oklahoma. Crazy thing is , they should meet again in the Big 12 championship if they both continue to play at this level. Also, apparently, Texas can't beat Oklahoma when both are ranked, I saw some crazy stat that they have won once when both ranked in top 15. Nutty. Anyhow, still a great game to watch, two really good teams.

I wouldn't bet on OU beating TX twice, that fourth down play was literally inches from being a TD, right call there to go for it BTW.

Texas is for real, I can still see a path where they get to the final four IMO.

Been an OU fan since the 1970's.

I've been a huge USC since childhood.

My opinion...

No defense by USC, please fire the defensive coach! Lincoln Riley teams have always been plagued with bad defense.

Arizona also executed their defensive and offensive plan perfectly, considering they were the inferior team.

USC better get their act together quickly because the rest of the schedule is hell!

Aside from CAL, next week Notre Dame (in South Bend) and later they play Utah, Washington, Oregon, and UCLA.

Watch out for UCLA, they have one of the defenses in the country.

They are who they are. Riley has always coached to outscore teams rather than play D. It works more often than not. Particularly when you have a Heisman QB as he has had several times. Caleb Williams won that game last night with almost no help. His two-point conversion in OT was a thing of beauty despite the awful play call. Some of his TD runs were unreal. I expect a beatdown from a POed Notre Dame team next week, though. You can't beat the most talented teams in college football without a defense. Without Caleb Williams, this is .500 team at best.

Go West this weekend! All the great games involve the PAC.

Notre Dame 34 USC 24: It pains me to pick against the mighty Trojans but the chickens come home to roost this weekend with their lousy D. Williams will keep it competitive, but ND grinds them down in the second half with more physical play. At home the Irish will win. I put the jink on "seven win" Sark last week by picking Texas. Hopefully the same happens here.

Oregon 44 Washington 30
: The Ducks look unstoppable. They will run up points. UW at home can hang with them but eventually falter.

Oregon St. 38 UCLA 24
: The Beavs are good. UCLA takes a spanking on the road.

Tennessee 34 Texas A&M 10:
Jimbo gets blown out.

I enjoyed hearing Coach Sanders press conference after Colorado’s loss to Stanford last night.

He said that he wants his players to play the game like he did.

They are playing like him, they can’t and do not tackle (especially his defensive backs).

Watched some of this game. Saw a 29-0 lead blown and then watched Stanford drive from their own one-yard line, with less than 3 minutes left, to position for a game tying FG at the gun. Didn't watch the OT but was pleased to see Stanford won the game. Great comeback and well-earned win. -- Al
