Watched some of this game. Saw a 29-0 lead blown and then watched Stanford drive from their own one-yard line, with less than 3 minutes left, to position for a game tying FG at the gun. Didn't watch the OT but was pleased to see Stanford won the game. Great comeback and well-earned win. -- Al
I stayed up and watched it. Stanford never quit and Colorado all of a sudden was snakebit. Just an odd one. Deion looked like he is definitely developing an ulcer. His players could not get the stop, and committed some very untimely penalties. I would not want to be in Colorado’s film room, it is going to be ugly.

Go West this weekend! All the great games involve the PAC.

Notre Dame 34 USC 24: It pains me to pick against the mighty Trojans but the chickens come home to roost this weekend with their lousy D. Williams will keep it competitive, but ND grinds them down in the second half with more physical play. At home the Irish will win. I put the jink on "seven win" Sark last week by picking Texas. Hopefully the same happens here.

Oregon 44 Washington 30
: The Ducks look unstoppable. They will run up points. UW at home can hang with them but eventually falter.

Oregon St. 38 UCLA 24
: The Beavs are good. UCLA takes a spanking on the road.

Tennessee 34 Texas A&M 10:
Jimbo gets blown out.

Tip of the cap on the USC prediction.

I take no joy in that one and it was worse than I thought. Williams played an awful game. USC hasn't won in South Bend since 2011. Wasn't even competitive against an average Irish team.

Agreed, USC has finally been exposed. Apparently even 5 star QB. RB and WR need effective offensive lines. Notre Dame defense was superb in causing chaos.

Hope Lincoln Riley can adjust well because the schedule gets worse. To date, all of their victories have been against teams that were mediocre or with bad records.

Unlike in recent years the PAC12 is among the strongest conferences in the country.

Next Utah is on the schedule. Will USC loss a 3rd straight time?

Believe it or not I'm a big USC fan, but I call them as I see them.

USC will beat Utah. The Utes are not the same of the road and have an awful offense. Washington and Oregon are another matter.

The predicts:

USC 31 Utah 17 -
The mighty and fully NCAA-compliant Trojans rise from the ashes of their recent defeat and smite the Utes. The Utes are not the same team on the road and have an awful offense. USC rolls them. No mercy after losing to them twice.

Ohio St. 24 Penn. St 20 - Game of the week. Penn St will beat either OSU or Michigan this year. I'm leaning toward the Michigan game since that is at home.

Bama 34 TN 23 - Never pick against Nick Satan at home.

Florida St. 44 Duke 10 - This is not basketball.

Here is what will happen with the Pac-12:

USC will win out, including beating Washington.

Once again, no 1 loss Pac-12 team will make the playoff.

When it comes to college football, I wish academic admissions/standards mattered more than strength of schedule.

The fix was in on the Texas-Houston game. Unreal. I don't think it was gambling money but the refs of these conferences don't want the top teams knocked out. It's big money for the conferences to go to the playoff. Don't they review the spot of the ball in the booth? The NCAA should investigate and fire those refs.

Great post, when it comes to college football nothing matters except money.

I think I have mentioned this before but there was once a plan to have each Big 5 conference have their champion go to the playoff while one at large bid would go to a non-Big 5 conference school.

One NCAA “official” noted that this plan was obviously fair but not lucrative enough.

Yes, I'm not a conspiracy theorist but that was unreal. The refs marked the ball a good two yards short of the runners forward progress. Instead of first and goal from inside the 8, it is fourth and one from outside the nine. Then there is no review. Maybe they some rule that they don't review the spot in the last two minutes otherwise it is inexplicable. Houston wins that game in OT with Texas lacking their QB. Earlier in the game there was blatant face mask on Texas. The ref is looking right at it and throws the flag. There is a long discussion, and then they pick the flag up. Why exactly do would they do that? What had changed? Ohio St. also got a game changing holding call on a fumble returned for a TD. Oh well.

My Trojans lost a heartbreaker. They were flat out beat instead of cheated, though. They never had a realistic chance at the playoffs, but the Heisman is gone and likely the PAC 12 championship. This team is maddening. I do wonder if Caleb Williams calls it a year. It would be a bad look but there is nothing more to play for this season. He is likely the first pick in the NFL draft. No need to get injured. USC needs to toughen up. Moving to the Big Ten will not be a great move if they even match the physical play of Utah. Wait until they get Ohio State and Michigan caliber teams.

I was surprised at the USC game. They just were not destined to win. I did see Williams sitting on the bench for a long time, kind of wonder if he is contemplating being done. Riley just doesn't have a defense that can get that crucial stop.

Regarding the other game, I consider Texas lucky to win and they got a break. That said, if you watched the whole game, which I did, there was holding of every possible kind on the Texas D line all day. The big comeback that Houston made was aided by this. I am sorry, but the Houston O line is NOT that good against one of the premier lines in the Country. Had to wonder why the QB had all day to throw and he still missed a lot of open receivers. So, while I do wonder about the spot of the ball, Texas still got the stops when it mattered, although I question their effort at times. But I have always said that while the crucial calls get headlines, when you watch that whole game, there is a lot on the other side that hurt and I agree, those particular referees should not be allowed to do another game. The holding was unreal and unacceptable, if you call that once or twice, it stops. Too many times referees let the game get out of control. I also don't agree with looking the other way on pass interference, of which there were a number.

Speaking of other calls, I still don't agree with the call that took the Penn St scoop and score as it had nothing to do with that play. That Linebacker had the QB long before there could have been an attempt to throw. That and the personal foul changed that game. Of course, Penn St's offense was offensive, so they had opps.

It was an odd day for coaches in College FB yesterday. Way too many idiotic 4th down fakes or go for it. WOW, somebody should review those stat handbooks they all have, they were off yesterday.

Final note - you will never see me cry or sympathize with Coach Dana H. at Houston. After his departure and why from WVU, then claiming it was to come back to Texas...........................ahh BS. That story is total crap, much like LeBron leaving Cleveland the first time!!! Talk about money........

Jim "Harblow" is in trouble again at Michigan. Already suspended for three games this year and now there are claims that Michigan was sending someone around to tape the signals of upcoming opponents. A Belichick like tactic. It's almost like the Michigan defense knows what play is going to be run! LOL. If USC were doing this they would get the death penalty like when a female tennis player made a long-distance call on a school phone and they were put on probation for years. Harblow will plead ignorance, Michigan will fire the patsy, pay him off, and that will be the end of the matter.

The minute there is even the hint of an investigation that could lead to serious implications Harbaugh will leave for the NFL just like Pete Carroll did.

The NCAA investigation will take years and once Michigan is handed any real penalties, Harbaugh, being the scumbag that he is, will say he would have stayed if he had known anything bad was going to happen to the program.

Sad thing is I view the NCAA as a whole as irrelevant and nothing more than organized gangsters. Not siding with Michigan in anyway, but they are arbitrary and capricious. I still think the greatest thing that ever happened to the NCAA is when Jerry Tarkanian sued them and won. They tried to bother him again, he sued again, won twice. In that case, the org got what they deserved. They have a history of favoring one program vs another. Look at what they did to Ole Miss - how many years did it take them to become competitive again? And look at SMU. Still decimated in my opinion. If we are being honest, Barry Switzer's OU teams (and I love that era) along with Jimmy Johnson's Miami teams were much much worse. And then, let's look at the mascot decisions...........................ugh. FSU had to get the entire Seminole nation campaign to keep theirs. Ridiculous. The NCAA is nothing but a bunch of sanctimonious a holes who could not have a job anywhere else in the productive world (Much like Roger Goodell). SO, if it were up to me, it would be simple - establish a committe on amateur sports, adopt bylaws, stick to that. No arbitrary, no capricious, no judgements, black and white, those are the rules. But, of course, the NCAA is big business much like Goodell's NFL consortium.

Back to Michigan - something tells me as this unravels, there are a whole lot of other "big" programs doing this - namely Ohio St and Notre Dame. Call it a hunch, but I don't think Big Jim invented this scheme.

The predicts.

Georgia 31 Florida 13 - There have been fewer upsets this year than any recent time that I can remember. This is a dangerous game for the Dawgs on the road but the more talented teams have imposed their will in competitive games and get the call or two that makes the difference.

Oregon 27 Utah 20 - Huge PAC game. The Utes are tough at home. There is an amazing record, though, of teams losing the week after beating USC.

Oklahoma 38 Kansas 27- Another road trap game but the Sooners hang on to win.

Wake Forest 30 Florida St. 27 - Sorry Tom. I have to pick one upset even though this could be a blowout. FSU on the road having some issue. This could be competitive. Or FSU could blow them out.

I am concerned as wake is unpredictable. I am also going to the Texas game. Concerned there too, have no idea what to expect without ewers even as inconsistent as he can be. Of course I am rooting for the Jayhawks!

This is not an away game for the dawgs, any more than it is for the gators. These two always play in Jacksonville. Aka “the worlds largest outdoor cocktail party”.

The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators will renew acquaintances on Saturday in a rivalry which dates back to 1904. Jacksonville, Fla., serves as the neutral location for this matchup annually. Georgia (7-0) enters in on a 24-game win streak, which includes two CFP National Championships over that span. Meanwhile, Florida (5-2) is seeking a third straight SEC victory for the first time since 2020.

However, just because the police are corrupt doesn’t me criminals should go free.

Harbaugh cheated again.

Totally agree Tom. It was a travesty that the NCAA wanted to penalize FSU and Bobby Bowden all over some shoes . THe NCAA targeted J Calapari for yrs, I know many consider him unethical, but they couldn't make anything stick. And yet somehow UNC came away Scott free over their academic scam that ran for yrs. The list goes on.

I never bought the explanation for cheating that "everyone does it." Maybe everyone does do it but that doesn't make it right or keep it from still being cheating. Michigan has been caught red handed just like Belicheat. Time to bring down the hammer. Harblow has to go. This stuff wasn't going on without his knowledge. Why would anyone be stealing signals unless the team was using that information?
