NCAA Football 2023 (1 Viewer)

Harblow has been suspended. Hopefully the first step toward firing him in disgrace. Tough break for the Michigan players but the change in fortune for Michigan over the last couple years is related to the sign stealing. Interested to see how this impacts the game tomorrow. It might fire up the Wolverines playing the victim card.

He can coach during the week, be involved in the game plan, but cannot be on the sideline during the games or in the stadium.

These are kids, not pro athletes, the whole circle the wagons/us against the world battle cry is going to be embraced here bigtime.

The Big 10 will whip up more BS, Michigan is fully lawyered up; would love to see them tell the Big 10 to go **** off and either go independent or join another conference, hit the NCAA where it matters most; in the wallet.

This is EXACTLY like Spygate; every team steals signals, you just can't steal them from HERE.........................a huge nothingburger.

Getting caught cheating and claiming it is ok because "everyone does it" is weak sauce. There is no place for it in any sport. Harblow was on the verge of getting fired a couple years ago. Now Michigan is suddenly unbeatable. I wonder why? He cheated, got caught, and lied about it. Just like Belicheat. Time to bring down the hammer. If there is evidence that other teams did it as well, then fire their coaches, but Harblow is toast.

Some yahoo posted a video of the Michigan/tOSU game last year; tOSU calls a play, the Michigan bench is looking over at their sideline, a bunch of people (including the alleged ring leader of this heinous crime) start gesturing upwards to indicate "A PASS IS COMING!!"................tOSU throws a pass.............for a TD.

WOW; talk about your smoking gun.............:rolleyes2:.

And yes, everyone steals signs, just like in baseball.

If you fired every coach who cheats, there would be no coaches left.

But do as you see fit.

The NCAA stripped your school of a title if I am not mistaken, I think over someone buying a kid a happy meal at McDonalds; does that tarnish that championship in your eyes, do you feel dirty knowing your school won a title and yet "cheated?"

I'll hang up and listen.

"Belicheat"...........LOL.............."Flags fly forever"..........all SIX of them.

And there's nothing no one can do or say to change that.

Period.

End of story.

"But........HE CHEATED!!!!"...............cry me a river, he got caught filming from the sideline (which was legal up until that game) vs from the press box (which was allowed.)

So for the billionth ****ing time; it was from WHERE it was done, not the ACTUAL act.

And BTW, also for the billionth ****ing time, they went undefeated that season AFTER getting caught filming from the wrong spot thanks to Fredo on the Jets sideline.

I wonder if his wife has as nice of a rack as Fredo's wife did.

If Michigan wins it all this year and the title gets stripped, they fans won't give a rats ***.

Nor should they.

And if "Harblow" gets fired, he'll land someone where and be a success.

Like Pete the Poodle did in Seattle.

The claim that "everyone" does it is a false premise. Maybe some do but not everyone is stealing signs. And even if they all did it, it is still cheating under the rules. The record confirms that this sign stealing scheme corresponds with Michigan's recent dominance. Harblow was on his way out the door when suddenly he became unbeatable. It's cheating under the rules plain and simple. It gives them an enormous advantage. That is why folks like Harblow and Belicheat do it. To gain an advantage. They wouldn't do it unless it helped them win games. Of course, the players still have to make plays but it is a whole lot easier knowing what play is being called. Harblow should be fired. All of Michigan's wins dating back to when this started should be forfeited. Harblow is a repeat offender who has not only cheated his way to the top but continues to lie about it.

I remember when the "Spygate" story broke and Jimmy Johnson was asked about it on the air; he laughed and said "Everyone films the other teams signals, it's part of the game."...................but what does that hack know, he only won three Super Bowls with the Cowboys (He wasn't the coach on the third team, but that was still his team/his championship, Switzer was just standing on the sideline) and three National Titles with "The U".........

But I suppose he cheated his way to those titles too then.

Your posts constantly make me laugh and you're a great guy, so let's just agree to disagree on this point and move on before someone complains to management.................;).

Keep those college predictions coming, they slay me......as well as your insight into horror movies (I'm tempted to go see the newest one themed around Thanksgiving) and your posts about what annoys me bust me up too..................:wink2:

Michigan has a great defense. Unbelievable stats. Penn. St. was the first team to score 15 points on them. The first team in nine games to get a snap inside the ten. Michigan has not given up a point in the 3rd quarter. They are going to pound Ohio St. They have somehow spun the cheating scandal to make themselves martyrs. What a society we live in today! The cheaters are actually the victims. There is no longer a concept of shame. Harblow is akin to Nelson Mandela. The president of Michigan is advocating on behalf of Harblow like he is a victim of a Stalinist purge. Imagine what the students make of that? A great lesson.

George, we have been at this too long to be offended. It's all good. Unlike some others, I don't take any of this personally. There is no greater waste of time than sports. Jimmy Johnson did cheat his way to those championships, though! LOL. He coached the most corrupt college football program in the history of sports. Citing him is like calling Jack the Ripper as a character witness in a murder trial.

I see Texas won again while OSU, the team that beat OU last weekend, got waxed today, whatever tomato can Texas plays in the conference championship will be a speed bump on their way to the playoffs.

Too bad Alabama lost to them, unless they beat Georgia in the conference championship game, it looks like Georgia, the tOSU/Michigan winner, Washington and Texas will be in the playoffs now.

Maybe FSU gets in somehow over Texas.

They can't expand to 8 teams fast enough.

I think if FSU keeps winning out, they are in. Texas can't seem to close games easily, they were pasting TCU and let them back in. Same with FSU, ahead by 2 TDs in 4th, won by 1, and had to hold off tying drive. Teams are just not finishing the job. IMO, Texas has one of the most talented D Line, Receiver Corps in the country, question is whether they can finish games. Same with FSU - receivers, qb, running back, but a suspect secondary. Georgia looked awesome against a very good Ole Miss team. Michigan is highly talented cheating or not, lot of weapons and a staunch defense. Washington and Oregon have no defenses, they need to put up a lot of points always to win (which they are quite capable of doing). Going to be an interesting finish. As to Alabama, they are always a well coached team with talent, that said, they have looked very human on a lot of occasions, I think they are right where they should be this year - outside looking in. (Same will probably happen to Texas regardless of winning out if FSU closes) I am not sure any Big 12 matchup on any given day is a tomato can. Those teams have a way of making games ugly and keeping it very close. Regarding OU, not sure Venables is the guy, he is one step removed from Dumbo Sweeney at Clemson, not sure he is going to take them back to Switzer Glory.

TD

I'd settle for Stoops glory.

I can't remember a season when there were so few upsets. The big dogs are running the table and leaning on their opponents with talent and coaching in any close game. They also get the phantom penalty calls to keep the conference playoff hopes alive. Michigan and Georgia are in a different league. Oregon didn't impress me much winning a close one with USC this weekend. Alabama is surging. Ohio St. has not impressed but keeps winning. FSU and Texas are very good but that won't cut it against Michigan and Georgia.

Top 4 (in terms of how they are playing and not just records):

1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Ohio St.
4. Alabama

Georgia and Bama will play and Ohio St. and Michigan will play. That means it opens things up to Oregon, Texas, and FSU in that order.

I think it ends up being Georgia, Michigan, FSU and Washington if FSU and Washington win out; if not, Texas will get in and a 1 loss team as well, not sure who at this point.

It sets up a Georgia/Michigan title game, but we'll see how it actually plays out.

Texas A&M is paying $77 million to buyout Jimbo Fisher. What a world where abject failure is rewarded with more money than he could spend in a thousand lifetimes. Why not intentionally lose games to get that deal by being fired instead of trying to win?

The salty tears of the Michigan coaches after the Penn. St. game for Harblow was embarrassing. He was at the hotel down the street. Suspended for cheating. I can't believe the parent of any kid going to Michigan can put up with the administration defending him and even portraying him as a martyr. You would think he was Nelson Mandela. If some kid cheated on an exam and got caught red handed, they would be shown the door. But there is too much money at stake for any such principles to apply to a football coach.

As bad as USC's season has been, UCLA is even worse. Chip Kelly is going to be fired after the USC-UCLA game this weekend. He took over a mediocre program and ran it into the ground. Laughing all the way to the bank. No doubt some other school will hire him for more millions despite his track record of failure. Coaching is a great gig since everyone fails upward.

The predicts:

Tennessee 30 Georgia 28
- I've rode the Georgia train all year. They look unbeatable. TN was humiliated last week. The math Gods are angry, though. You can't win them all without a hiccup. The string comes to an end in Rocky Top.

USC 40 UCLA 27 - UCLA plays this game like it is the Super Bowl. Likely the last game for Williams at USC before going pro and Chip Kelly at UCLA before hitting the unemployment line.

Oregon St. 41 Washington 30 - At home the Beavs chomp down for a massive upset. Not impressed by the Husky D. On the road, a letdown game.

Utah 27 AZ 20 - Arizona has been the most surprising team in the PAC. Much improved. But the Utes win a close one.

Harblow's days are numbered now. The walls are closing in fast. Michigan is playing all the victim cards but the evidence is overwhelming. They dropped their appeal of his suspension this week rather than have the evidence aired. The sad thing is that Harblow will be hired by some NFL team for millions without missing a beat. He will fail there and then be hired again for millions to coach back in college. And on and on.

Doug
while mind boggling, he wins. End of day, that will always win out. When you are a winner, the risk is deemed worth it.

Agreed; look at Belicheat; he was involved in the heinous "Spygate" and "Deflategate" scandals, has won more super bowls than any other coach, once the Patriots can him at the end of the year, there will be a bidding war for his services.

Despite those two horrific cheating scandals.

Oh GOD!!........think of the children!!!

Whoops! Dawgs romp! Appears the Dawgs will break Alabama’s record (done twice) of 28 straight wins. UGA tied it today with the trouncing of Tennessee - despite giving up a 75 yd TD run on the first play of the game. Ga next plays instate rival Ga Tech for their final regular season game at home. A win will make 29 straight. That’s a new record. After that its the SEC Championship game vs Bama. Then perhaps the college football playoffs.
