I never bought the explanation for cheating that "everyone does it." Maybe everyone does do it but that doesn't make it right or keep it from still being cheating. Michigan has been caught red handed just like Belicheat. Time to bring down the hammer. Harblow has to go. This stuff wasn't going on without his knowledge. Why would anyone be stealing signals unless the team was using that information?

"If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying"......SMU Head Coach Sonny Dykes

The Patriots went undefeated the rest of the regular season AFTER they got "caught cheating" taping signals.

The Patriots hung 28 points on the Colts in the second half of the AFCCG after they got "caught cheating" with deflated footballs.

The Patriots won the Super Bowl in 2016 after Brady got suspended for four games after he got "caught being generally aware that something was going on with the footballs."

Call the Patriots cheaters all you want, they've got SIX Super Bowl trophies, I could give two ****s how the **** they won them, winning is winning, flags fly forever.

As a former Patriot said "They hate us because they ain't us."

Steroids/performance enhancing drugs, stick um, taping signals, stealing signs, working the salary cap, banging on trash cans, "the holy roller", gloves with some sort of substance on them to allow one handed catches etc, etc.

Whatever it takes.

All on this post is true as I also agree with Jason and Doug. It is an ugly fact, cheating unfortunately is part of this game. As Jesse Ventura famously said - "Win if you can, lose if you must, but always, always cheat". I am sure most people justify this by saying they are pushing the rules as far as they can without breaking them. All kinds of excuses. All of this said - Harbaugh has an incredible run of getting caught!!! And my point there is that is due to the NCAA constantly and arbitrarily looking in some areas and not others. Everyone is right, the system is the broken part.

Oh and the Free Shoes U. What a load of bs that one was. When that was all said and done, it was a rogue player, local store and if I remember $186 and change worth of free shoes.

I assume you’re restricting “whatever it takes” to things that don’t really matter, like the outcome of pro sports contests.

I doubt you’d be ok with your neurosurgeon cheating their way thru med school and residencies. Or your lawyer lying thru law school and the bar exam. Or your investment advisor with your money. Or the guy driving his Dodge Charger thru a stoplight that just turned green for you. Or politicians….well, never mind.

Harblow was on the verge of getting fired a couple years ago. He was getting pounded by Ohio State every year. Suddenly he is unbeatable. A miracle! LOL. Harblow has been cheating his backside off. He got caught. It's hammer time. He should be fired. All their wins for the past three years should be forfeited.

Great post.

Michigan will likely be harshly punished.

Like Tom and others have noted the NCAA is beyond inept and corrupt. Harbaugh will take advantage of the current crap system and move on unscathed.

I wasn't aware of this rule until yesterday: If the player injury is the only reason for stopping the clock (other than his or a teammate's helmet coming off, Rule 3-3-9) with less than one minute in the half, the opponent has the option of a 10-second runoff.
Saw this applied in the Kentucky-Tenn game. With 44 seconds to go in the second half a UK player lay down with an "injury." UK is notorious for their defensive players faking injuries to slow down an opponent's offense. Refs took 10 seconds off the clock making the time remaining 34 seconds. Tenn then ran out the play and game clock to end the game. Good rule!

what a wild day in College Football. OU loses, Texas wins. Ok, Horns are back in business. FSU rolls, puts the Wake flake to rest (hard to believe they had lost 3 in a row to wake!). Georgia rolls, literally rolls. Colorado just doesn't have the depth yet to run with the big boys. USC, wow, not sure what to even make of that game. They are lucky to walk out with that win. Oregon looks unstoppable now, Washington continues to skate by. All I know is this looks like it could be a fun next month of finishes in a lot of conferences. That said, Georgia will still be sitting on top regardless.

Yeah, gee, what a wonderful ****ing day of college football, GJGE OU, blowing their chance at a playoff spot losing to a rinky dink Kansas team that's not even in the top 25.

Great.

As far as the Michigan cheating scandal; it looks really, really bad............no doubt the Patriots are going to lose a draft pick over this.

Why?

"Shady Brady" went there...........................

The fake injuries and late substitutions are a plague on college football. If a player can't get off the field, the team should be forced to use a TO, take a five-yard penalty, or the player should be done for the rest of the game.

Predicts:

Clemson 30 ND 27 - I like the upset at home even with Clemson playing awful.

USC 54 Washington 51 -
A shootout. At home SC has a chance.

Georgia 37 Missouri 10 -
I haven't seen Missouri play in a decade. They are ranked #12? One of those games where you see the difference between a good team and a great team. Georgia wins even if they play awful.

Texas 27 Kansas St. 17 - Same deal. Texas wins on talent. Hopefully I put the jinx on Sark. His head looks rounder every week and he is dressing more and more like the Unabomber.

USC has possibly the worst college football defense in the history of football. Dating back a century or more. It is unreal. You would think that it might be possible that an offensive player might run into a SC defender by chance even if they just stood still but it never happens. The opposing offense runs through or around every SC defender like they were Casper the ghost. It is amazing to watch.

Watched the game, it was entertaining, I hear your frustration. It literally was one stop by Washington that was the difference in the game. As for Texas, they are lucky, that game was over and they forgot there was a quarter left, they did everything they could to lose, that is equally frustrating. Having a qb with exactly 4 quarters of experience prior today doesn't help either. He is just green. Then FSU screws around for a half, they did have the excuse of both highlight reel wide receivers being injured and not playing, but still, they were not impressive. Honestly, I am not sure what team was impressive today. I guess you could argue Alabama as they fortunately beat LSU and Kelly. I call that a win for the day!

Wild day, I am watching Colorado right now, jeez, they are frustrating. Should be a wild finish.

And sorry to George, OU layed a second egg. Ok St was game and just outlasted them. They fellas are happy in Austin Texas.

Another disastrous weekend for LA fans. USC, UCLA, and the Lakers all got rolled on Saturday. I anticipate the Rams will be curb stomped either with or without an injured Stafford today.

My vote for biggest shocker yesterday goes to Army rolling over Air Force. AF went into the game #25 in the polls, undefeated at 8-0, and playing well. Army had 2 wins and had looked pretty hapless. Army totally dominated, winning 23-3. I'm at a complete loss to explain this stunning upset. Congrats to the Cadets. -- Al

Yeah, their season went down the ****ter in the blink of an eye.

Didn't help that on the drive where they settled for a FG Stoops got grabbed and then tackled in the end zone right in front of a ref, no ****ing call.

Just horrendous officiating on display there.

Goodie for Texas, rather than an OU rematch in the championship game, they'll play some tomato can instead, probably OSU with those hideous Halloween uniforms.

Will be interesting as the way Texas is underachieving at putting teams away, they are one whisper from another loss. They are just not finishing opponents. UT and OU is an amazing rivalry, both student classes are taught from the beginning to hate the other side. At least that will continue in the SEC. The others ones, it will be odd without them.

It's interesting to me that the College Football Playoff rankings again has UGA at #2 this week behind Ohio State. In the AP and Coaches Polls we are still #1 and Ohio State #3. The "first place votes for the AP are UGA - 49 and Ohio State - 3 and the Coaches poll UGA - 55 and Ohio State - 5. It's not even close. That's a lot of people voting from sports writers to coaches and they seem to agree with each other. I understand the schedule thing and all but we just beat #12 Missouri and are about to play #9 Ole Miss so if we can win this weekend, I would think strength of schedule wouldn't be an issue. Anyway just my thoughts.

The predicts:

Oregon 77 USC 30 - The worst defense in college football squares off the week after firing its DC with the best offense. Nostradamus can take the day off. This is going to be fugly. That alpha hotel who coaches the Ducks will show no mercy.

Penn St. 24 Michigan 21 - P St at home with the storm clouds hanging over Jim "I know what play you are running" Harblow. Franklin shakes off the Michigan/Ohio St. curse and finally wins one.

Tennessee 30 Missouri 20
= Never underestimate the Vols ability to choke but they win this one.

Washington 27 Utah 20- Every team that beats USC usually takes a beatdown the next week, but at home the Huskies go Cujo and win a close one.

I hope Michigan loses so I can stop hearing about their sign stealing/cheating scandal...................every school does it, they were dumb enough to get caught.

Harblow has been suspended. Hopefully the first step toward firing him in disgrace. Tough break for the Michigan players but the change in fortune for Michigan over the last couple years is related to the sign stealing. Interested to see how this impacts the game tomorrow. It might fire up the Wolverines playing the victim card.
