NCAA Football 2024 (2 Viewers)

I'm usually pessimistic about Penn St. because the past is prologue, and they have a long history of being world beaters until they play Ohio St. and Michigan. But I think they are going to blowout Ohio St. next weekend. A night game at Happy Valley with Trump in attendance. It's going to be insane.
I really hope you are right on this one. Would be a great win finally for Franklin. Odd thing is, this year's team IMO is not the best he has ever had but they find a way to win. Must have gone to the Al Davis School - Just Win Baby!

I really really hope you are right but I think you are wrong.

Penn State is going to lose and even if they don't somehow Ohio State will still make the playoff.

Good news for Texas this week.................they have a bye, which means Ewers can't make any mistakes. Seriously, not sold on him, I know he has spurts and can put up points, but jeez, rewatched the game and he holds the ball forever, those sacks are all him. AND, call it what you will, but those "tipped" passes intercepted are because he threw sidearm and too low at the line, again, his fault.

Ohio St. lucked out playing at noon instead of night at Happy Valley but I think Penn St gets it done this year.

The only real “college” football this weekend was played between Army and Air Force.

There wasn’t any NIL money or transfers, that garbage is irrelevant when the service academies play each other.

Just students playing sports who when they graduate will dedicate their lives to the service of our country.

The “greats” from Alabama UGA, USC, Ohio State, FSU, LSU etc., have nothing on those students that attend these schools.

Wild Weekend, pollsters are having fun. The next crowned National Champs of Texas A&M....................oops they lost. Kstate, the comeback kids...................opps they lost. Iowa St, that States great hope............oops they lost. Ohio St. oh well..................they won can't have all the breaks. And finally, the award moment of the weekend - NO DUMBO DANCE. Dumbo Sweeney and Clemson Tigers were sent back to irrelevance.

In other breaking news, the FSU Seminoles lost again. The way college football is today - Goodbye Mike Norvell.

James Franklin just can't beat Ohio St. to save his life. At home, undefeated, with Ohio St banged up, it was his to win and they blew it.

I'm afraid Indiana will be like Penn St. They are world beaters until they get Ohio St and Michigan.
More chaos would be Indiana losing to Michigan then coming back following week and beating OSU. Crazy as it sounds, I think Indiana has a better shot at OSU in that scenario. Of course the OSU game is at OSU. Go Hoosiers!

It really is shocking how far the greats have fallen, so many teams from the halls of football history have become irrelevant.

USC, FSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Clemson and others have all faded, some slowly and others more suddenly than excepted.

In the first release of the CFP rankings Ohio State was ranked 2nd and Boise State was 12th.

Both are 7-1.

Ohio State lost by 1 point to No. 1 Oregon, and Boise State lost to the Ducks by 3 points.

Ohio State has an NIL football valuation of $20mil for 2024, Boise State has $832K.

Record and head to head should matter, but so should how much money you have to pay your team.

I don't disagree. I don't like parts of these rankings, why is Alabama still in it? at 6-2, with close wins, that is a tough sell for me. I think the next several weeks will hopefully provide some separation. The top teams need to perform.

The problem is that the committee continues to use formulas only when it benefits the TV ratings.

As you note Alabama should not be in the playoff considering their resume.

SMU is 13th, they have 1 loss to 9th ranked BYU (who by way of the new system is really 4th).

Like Boise State, SMU’s biggest fault is that they will not attract the TV ratings of Alabama.

Don't look now but guess who's 10-0. Yup.
Crazy, I hope they keep going! On another note, Texas wins, so we are still in the hunt. I just booked tix for the Kentucky game in Austin on 11/23. Hopefully they don't blow a game away in Arkansas this coming weekend, it is the SEC and Quinn Ewers is still the starting QB so you never know.

Watched UT, Ewers seems to only make plays when he has to, still holds the ball too long, misses receivers, etc, same old same old. They find a way to win, game was never really in jeopardy, but just can't help but think if they continue to play this way, they lose.
