Talk to you at length later Mate.Regards Len

What a pleasnt surprise and so nice hearing from you. I mentioned it to Martyn awhile back that I received an email apparently from the individual who stole your identiy that you while visting Spain had lost your wallet and all of your identification an would I be good enough send him **nds which he would return to me once he got home. I knew it was a scam from the get go knowing that their were others you would have turn to before coming to me and that it had been years since I heard from you. That being said looking forward to spending the time being brought up to date and hope to hear that result of your next visit to sort out the problem is successful. You take care Mate and as always nothing but the best headed your way.....Joe

Good to hear from you again, look forward to talking to you at length in the **ture.
I just want to "borrow" your note to send a reply to all the fellow members who have welcomed me to the Forum,I was amazed and slightly over come, having retired some three years ago I missed the job so much most of all the contact with collectors and customers friends fellow workers etc.I am sure the Forum will fill a gap in my life. Many thanks for all yor warm words its great to know your work was appreciated so much.
Warm Regards to all of you.Len Taylor

Dear Len:
Thank you very much for your reply back back at the Tree Frog Treaures Forum. Yes, indeed your splendid work with making toy soldiers is still remembered by many collectors. As you probably know by now many of your Trophy items are selling for above original costs on eBay these past few years since you went out of business. I started collecting in December 1991 & Trophy sets soon became my main focus of collecting. After receiving your free signed Trophy Miniatures catalog during our visit to your operations in Wales on July 9, 1995 I was inspired to buy even more Trophy for some years.
Best of luck with your health issues and I am sure you will enjoy your association with "The Forum".
Cheers! Gary Muench February 14, 2010

Purchased these mounted figures without boxes. Are these old Trophy sets?

You beat me to it Mike, I was going to post the very same thing LOL :p:p:p

Not sure if this is the right place for this so my apologies if not but there are several individual Indian figures on ebay said to be Trophy. Here is one of the auctions. Are these in fact Trophy?

I think that is a really early figure.
I saw one in Norman Joplin's book of Toy soldiers.
This is where Len Taylor's participation is fantastic.

Mike, Martyn and Britfarmer,
Thanks for all the help in identifying them as Trophy. Now my question is are these for the Zulu or Boer War or both and which codes go with which figure? These figures also came with a number of other zulu figures and 24th Foot figures which did not have Trophy markings as well. I have also attached a photo of the zulus without markings.

Hi Lawrence

Afraid I can't help with set#'s as I purchased mine many moons ago as single figures without original boxes.

Your first mounted figure looks like he could be AZW or Boer but the others are AZW.

I only have one early Trophy Zulu but he is not shown in your picture, nice figures by the way;)

Cheers

Martyn:)

Is the 2nd Zulu from the right Britains? Looks similar. The 1st one on the right looks like Imperial.

I'm going to go out on a limb (with a saw) and say that these Zulu figures posted by Lawrence are in fact early Trophy... I can see it in their eyes and the paint style. Mr Taylor?

Mike

I am kind of disagree. Early Trophys came with oval bases. Very early Trophys were a bit thinner. Most later models with rectangular bases always had "TM" mark on them. I guess , only Len can tell us for sure :)

Martyn,
They do look similar, but as I don't have many Zulu sets and have nothing to compare them to, I am hoping that Len will verify that they are Trophy.

Hello guys,
Maybe we should just open a new thread " Ask Len a question" to make easy for him answering our questions?

Al,

I think he is still getting a feel of the forum by reading up the old threads on Trophy to bring himself up to speed.

Perhaps this can wait till after his contralateral knee surgery (IMHO only).

Raymond:)

Can someone tell me if this is Trophy. I'm just wondering because of the base and because my knowledge of Trophy is poor. Thanks. I can get you more photos if necessary.

Not very good on AZW sets Brad but it looks very similar to this one on Ebay now, different paint job but the figure is very similar. By the way are there any stampings on the base?

Cheers

Martyn:)
