Hi All,
We're about to add some new subforums in a few places on the forum and I was wondering if there would be interest in adding a dedicated area in the King & Country specifically to post diorama pictures.
We've had lots of great pics posted lately and it's easy to get lost trying to get back to specific ones you liked at and if you prefer to look at other people's pictures for inspiration rather than posting on the discussion threads it would make it a lot easier to find them all in one spot.
Some collectors enjoy mixing and matching figures and vehicles from a variety of manufacturers so of course we would keep the Diorama/Diodrama part of the forum the same and people would have the option of posting in either area whether it was primarily a K&C dio or not--this would just make it easier for your K&C dios to be found by your fellow K&C collectors. We would consider adding dio sub-forums in other company's forums as well if collectors were interested.
This is a very image-rich toy soldier forum so we want to celebrate and encourage that and give them an opportunity to shine!
Let us know what you think.
Best regards,
Shannon Reuss

Hi Shannon,
Thankyou for the opportunity first of us having the forum. I personally do not like to just stick to a specific manufacturer for they never provide the kind of coverage our minds and wishes tend to demand......the limit always being our available budgets.....Having said that I would apreciate the mixed diorama areas as well as the specific manufacturers given that in the later is were you go for expert information.....
Cheers
Luiz

Hi Shannon, as one of the offenders in posting dio pics on the K&C section I will have to agree it is a great idea and stick my hand up in support.:)

I think its a brilliant idea! I don't very often venture down to the diorama section so it gets a little anoying when the great K&C & Britains dios posted in there section get moved! At least if they are group in there manafacture area ill be more likely to see them.

Great idea,
I am all for it . Today dios on which collectors have worked for days ( and sometime months) rapidly disappear from the forum's 1st page and after a few days one has to do some severe research to find them back amidst all the other threads. In much cases the titles give no info if behind the title a dio is hidden or if it is just another general thread ( if the word "dio" is not mentioned in the title)
It would also enable collectors to elaborate on how the dio was made, what materials were used etc . It would also give an opportunity to answer other collectors questions for the benefit of all ( questions which are now mainly asked through the "personal message system") .One condition however: this section may not become yet another chit-chat forum.( ej: to put it blundly but with all respect and just to give an example : rugby competition between Australia and England; this is of no interest to the rest of the world)
I would welcome an exclusive dio forum section very much.
guy:)

I think it would be a good idea, but if the poster wants to place it under K&C in general this would allow more diversity. Just a thought. Yes this is a diorama /picture
rich forum, probably why it is very popular....:smile2:

How about Lt.,MikeMiller,Mestell, and UKReb sub forums.^&grinGood idea but you should do it for all the main companies.

Good idea, would include KC, WB and JJD, probably some others will get support as well. Chris

I think it would be great to have a different thread for the diorama pictures.

for my two cents, I would too, although it might be difficult to catalogue/search/find given the volume

Dear Shannon:

Having a King & Country sub-section for dioramas/displays sounds like a splendid idea!

Go for it Shannon, i think it's a great idea.

I think it would be a shame myself. Most of the guys I share my dio's with are up here in the K&C section and would not be shared if they were down in the basement as it were. All we have to do is ask the guys who post many dios to put all their dio's in one thread under the title ' such and such's dio's' etc and they can then keep bringing them up when they post a new scene. It would be a real pity to banish everyones dio's downstairs where they simply won't enjoy the coverage they have up here. Without intending to offend anyone here the K&C section is the liveliest , most enjoyable part of the forum and a great part of it would be ripped away and put downstairs where its just not the same. I do agree the threads are getting swamped with dio's but if we just did what I've just suggested I'm sure it would make a big diff, at least lets try it??

Sorry Rob, I thought Shannon meant that a new dio sub-forum is to be part of the King and Country forum. eg 'up here', or did I read it wrong? I would agree with you if it were to to go 'Down in the basement', that would be a bummer.
Wayne.

No Wayne, my fault, you could be right, it could be up here. But I still think we don't need an extra area for this, just put our dio's under one heading and then all could share them without them overwhelming the forum.

Rob

Waynepoo being a decent considerate chap has just agreed to give this a go, so lets see how it works out.
