New Figarti grey Tiger & winter T34 (1 Viewer)

The Early Grey Tiger Model is Excellent....as stated I also would have preferred the Tank Commander to have the traditional commanders cap....But again this is only a "minor point"....Perhaps Figarti will make some tank riders for the recent Tigers released (and make different Tank Commander figures).....That would be a real treat and really bring these models to lifelike realism in diorama scenes....The Figarti Winter Tiger,Desert Tiger and the Early Tiger are the best Tiger Tanks ever released to date in 1:30th scale....Very Detailed/ Excellent Weathering; on a par with award winning 1:35 scale models.....I also hope we will see a Winter King Tiger soon from Figarti.

I would have to say that Honour bound still have produced the finest Tiger tanks of any company to date though, its down to opinion but, they had it all.personally, I would also take a different brand if two were on the table. I must say that I am not really impressed with these releases and, when the Wittmann version was released I think I was in shock at how poor the paintwork looked and mentioned it on the forum at the time. when I saw one for myself it was not any better. IMO as a modeller and painter its a far cry from award winning models of 1/35th or, at least none of the competitions I ever entered.

I am not hugely impressed with this figarti way that people talk about but, each to their own. They have done some nice things but, their figures still let them down and some of the paintwork is far from what should be attained. Just another subjective viewpoint. The irony of this is that a DAK and grey version will be hitting my house as presents from the wife grandparents very soon. Bless them!!!!

Yes, there's a lot that could be done with Grey 100. It saw action from late August 42 on until it was captured in early '43 when the Reds broke the siege of Leningrad with a thin thrust near Lake Ladoga

This could be an interesting topic for Figarti to expand upon with figures. I think somewhere in this theatre maybe just off the maps were German paras. 1942 geared Fall/Winter paras. interesting.

Mitch, I would have to strongly disagree with you....Honour Bound Tigers were very over-rated and very overpriced especially with the "customization stuff":rolleyes2:.....These Figarti Tigers are simply excellent and reasonably priced and they are definitely better then K/C repaints.....If you are unhappy with the Figarti DAK Tiger and the Early Grey Tiger, I know that there are likely at least a doz. collectors who would be willing to take them off your hands as long as you are willing to re-sell them at retail....but my bet is that you will keep them.:wink2:

but it would get repainted as a brother to Grey 100 {sm4}

Thats the good thing about the hobby that we all have our different likes and dislikes. For me HB were superb and underated for you the opposite but, were not at each others throats about it The only thing I did not like about the HB Tigers was the customisation. I see why they did it but, it made them really expensive. If it had been a standard sale it would have been much much more successful. But, thats all in the past. I would say that for me HB set a standard that has not been bettered in most of their armour.

I have spoken with a few people in private about the Figarti Tigers I know I won't change my mind in fact one has already been ear marked for a swap and, I have no need to over inflate the prices on the other so, I would imagine when the time comes it will be traded in rather than sold for something that will suit my tastes. Perhaps a Tunisian for another tunisian. Fair exchange, so they say is no robbery!!

For me the Figarti Grey Tiger is the best around but that just my opinion

I only have Tiger tank from three manufacturer...Figarti, CS, K&C and IMO Figarti tiger tank is the best of the bunch. I don't have HB Tiger but have two of their Panthers and I also like them a lot. To me the HB Tiger looks very nice (thru pictures) but I think it's way over price for my taste ^&grin .

No problem Mitch....We all have our opinions.....Glad to hear that you are not inclined to sell Figarti Tigers on secondary markets for unfair/ inflated prices....for that I commend you.

Frank..

No problems here either just a nice exchange of tastes within the hobby. As for the Tigers I am getting them for nothing it would be bad form to fleece someone so, swap one done and second swap I am sure will be easy to do.

I think this is where I am supposed to say HB and K&C tigers rule!! LOL
Best Wishes
Mitch

Mitch,Sent you a PM

I have to go with Figarti AFV's overall.

Thomas Gunn is doing a great job at a great price and may surprise us when he does some BIG stuff.

First Legion Excellent, but the usual compatibility problem.

TCS Great Price and BIG which solves some of the size problems, great start if you like to weather vehicles and do a little repainting.

Jenkins excellent also, but not much WWII. Does anyone realize their Panzer 1's fit with FL. I am repainting a few for an early war scene with FL soldiers.

Did you try it with a TGM, K&C, Figarti or TCS figure it is to small to be used with them.

First you talk about the compatibility of AFVs in an AFV thread, now you are throwing figures of 4 different manufacturers into the conversation. Shall we just leave it as to whether or not it's going to rain in Hoboken today?

Ah Hoboken....My home town{sm4}....I agree with you Blowtorch.....First Legion produces 1:30th scale figures and their AFV's are also 1:30th "totally compatible within their product line" which might I add is un-matched in quality and realism:wink2:.....A stand alone "excellent product".....K/C, TG, and CS are all 1:28th figures with 1:30th AFV's...Of the 3 I just mentioned, ONLY Collectors Showcase is trying to make AFV's that are compatible with 1:28th figures{bravo}}....Figarti seems to be producing 1:30th AFV's that are compatible in size and style with FL. This may very well be by design and no accident....???? do you mix and match????^&grin

Can you give us an evaluation of the Jenkins Panzer I.....What is the composition? Are the tracks well done? I would be very interested in seeing your re-paints.....Looking forward to your photos with FL figures.....These Panzer 1's seem to have possibilities.

do you mix and match????

When I first got the StuG, it seemed something was wrong. Either it was too big, or the Tiger was too small. I had a CS reaction. But I got out my Bradford drawings & they scale in proportion to each other well. The Tiger is deceptive because it is bare bones...no side fenders, rear turret bin, and small front & rear mud guards. Plus it is dark. Makes it look small.
