HETZER-MADE IN THE USA

Yes, you read right: made in the USA! TCS is very proud to introduce our first TCS USA manufactured AFV: the Jagdpanzer 38t or Hetzer. The Hetzer was a more refined version of the Marder III and without a doubt an attempt to slow down Allied army thrusts on a variety of fronts. Based on the 38t chassis, it was a simple but lethal instrument of war. Our model features a figure, our well known thrown track option, removable schurzen, open copula, and comes in a Normandy and Winter pattern. Made of polyresin and metal, we just know that this first made in the USA piece will sell out fast, especially as the production numbers are just 300 units each.

For months we’ve been working diligently here in Austin to set up the TCS USA manufacturing pipeline. Well, it’s complete and we’re ready to rock and roll! All of the price increases in China over the last 18 months have made it, for the first time, possible to start up US production. I believe out-sourced contract manufacturing has probably seen its best days, and to get a lot of things done right, in house production capacity is now a must for any company. As all you good folks know, we specialize in in-house sculpting already, so we made the decision some time ago to add our own production capacity as well.

Quality? Your going to see a big difference. You see, we’ve created a custom polyresin blend that adds rich detail that is customarily missing in a lot of work done overseas. Metal parts? You’re going to see a lot more of those as our spin cast machine works away, pressing out parts hourly.

From digital sculpting to our casting equipment, to our state of the art paint booth, we now have it all: in house! And we can now proudly designate a new range of products as being made right here in Austin, Texas of the USA. So join us in celebrating this fantastic milestone at TCS. Pre-order our Hetzer with any number of excellent TCS dealers worldwide and receive a special celebratory grand opening gift. The Hetzer is priced at just $159.00 and available with our May catalog.

Cheers!

Brian

irregardless of our discussion about scale This is a very nice AFV and, interesting hearing about the productivity in the US as it seems not to have affected the pricing which, was always a concern to some when talking about geting sets done away from cheap China.

Another winner. Glad to see it's US produced, with the price staying level. Can only be good news for the future of CS. -- Al

Nice tanks especially the Normandy version. Very interesting to hear production is possible in the developed world where wages were traditionally a big deterent to profitable production. I wonder if its due to the high cost of transportation to deliver goods to the end markets we see this switch. If it means quality increases and prices stabalize or decrease then I say........USA, USA, USA...!!!%^V

Made in the USA....Brian that is AWESOME!!! What a great surprise. I kept wondering who would be the first to do this, aside from Honour Bound having their Shores of Tripoli line painted in the US. But I've always heard how it is not a viable option to produce in the US. Well I guess that doesn't apply to CS. So congratulations and good luck on the new manufacturing outlook. This is welcome news indeed as is the part about better materials and more metal!:smile2:

Out frigging standing! Brian you just made me a very happy Vamp! You shall be exalted among the heathen! Count me in for the US production goodies! And the Hetzer? Wunderbar!{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

This is where the larger CS scale concept does pay off with 1/28 figs. You see, matching 1/30 vehicles with 1/28 figs is OK if you're talking Jagdtiger, Tiger, Panther, etc., but the smaller you go in vehicle, such as motorcycle, car, Hetzer, etc., it does start to look odd. This does look right to me

Congrats Brian!! and it's about time the U.S.A. gets some love from the manufacturers:):) I really hope it works out for Collectors showcase, it just seems over the last 2-3 years there is no such thing as "cheap labor" and I understand the Chinease views on wanting more from thier hard work, who doesn't?:) and the price of collecting has been in a steady incline for most manufacturers, some more noticable then others, but the fact is if you can do it here in the States and control the shipping/rent space etc...then hopefully that will reflect in your future pricing.

The new releases look really good, and congrats on that as well, keep up the great work there in the great state of Texas!!!!!...Sammy

Not bad and made in the good o'l USA is interesting!

Very nice Normandy 214, must be off the same production line as the TG which is 213. Will have 2 in my collection now. Cheers, Brian.

Any chance we could get the production costs for this model in the US versus China? Maybe not exact figures but some sort of sample comparison.

Great news! What is this free gift? I am not a WWII collector, so this is not on my list, but if you do some Naps.....

This is great news Brian!!!! Made in the USA is way great news, and this Hetzer will be mine!!

Great looking Vehicle,Hetzers every where, now you lucky folks in the US will be able to head to Texas and take tours of the factory.
Anyone on the Forum apply for a job there,if a TS company came to Perth i would be first in line for work..............^&grin i can't paint but i can pack.
Will you be doing tours Brian?
I know Brad did one of the Figarti factory that would be awesome to see the whole process.

The style and painting looks identical to your previous stuff, did you move all your staff from china to the US?

Getting an Identical style and look from a new factory in such a short time is very impressive!!
