Nfl 2013 (2 Viewers)

I couldn't stand Harblow when he was at Stanford. Not a likeable guy to put it politely, but he can coach football. Most fans only care about winning and he can get that done. I'm a bit surprised that Pete is having such a good run in the pros. I wasn't sure his rah-rah style of coaching would translate to that level, but he seems to be on to some formula that is working.

The predicted no.1 team (49'ers) took a whipping last night, I did not see that one coming as good as they played last week they played that bad last nite, give Seahawks credit they played some good ball and will go far I think this year.

As far as Jim Harbaugh I'm not a fan of his either, even though his brother John Harbaugh coaches my Ravens, I'm sure there are fans that do not like John either but he doesn't come off rude, or I'm better then you attitude as it does with Jim, I will never forget the playoff game last year when Jim went nuts on the sidelines when a call didn't go his way, then come to find out after the Super Bowl he wanted no contact with brother John for almost 6 weeks until a golfing tournament, yea...talk about a sore loser:)...Sammy

Sammy/Combat:

I am a huge Niner fan and I can't stand the guy. He is arrogant, self-righteous and a poor sport. You do not see it on ESPN, but on the local coverage here every loss is met by an excuse about refs or something similar. Like I said in my previous post he is not building on the tradition that Walsh and Seifert built of winning (and sometimes losing) with class.

He didn’t do that at Stanford either. I am actually really happy that Stanford is doing so well without him, proving the point that their winning ways were not all about him.

With 2 full weeks in the books only one thing is certain, Jacksonville is the worst team in the NFL.

It's going to be a long season for the Steelers and Tom.

Boy, you are not kidding. No offense. The Bengals left open a lot of doors but we couldn't do crappola. I just hope to get to 8 and 8.

I didn't watch the whole game from start to finish but it seemed that quite a few times the Steelers special teams gave the offense excellent field position and they just couldn't capitalize.

It also looks like the lack of a running game is really hurting them.

The NY Giants are in desperate need of a win today....IF....they can establish a decent running game, this season may be salvaged.....Just having Eli keep firing 40+ plus passes each week will not work....All the turnovers are also ridiculous.....The offensive line for the Big Blue STINKS this year....No running= No winning..... they better get back to basics or it will be a long ugly season.

If your lucky. Not much going for them this year.Lot of bad draft picks last few years.

Giants are taking a serious pounding today. I can't remember when they were beaten this badly or when they started 0-3.

Pretty surprised that the NFC East looks so weak, especially with the Skins and Giants looking so helpless. Also surprised that the 49er's have been so completely whupped 2 games in a row. Kaepernick hasn't looked good. -- Al

Oh my, who will the media darlings drool over now?? thier boy Kappy doesn't look so happy!! all his tattos/funny hats/commercials/arm kissing antics won't win you the game, the 49'ers have looked terrible 2 weeks in a row (home/away) hasn't really mattered, I for one hope it it stays that way...oh by the way Jim Harbaugh, A. Smith in KC a cool 3-0 under a new coach.

Glad to see my Ravens get a good win today, but must find some offense in these coming weeks.

Shocker of the day?? Cleveland!!!!! who'd thonk it:)..a 3rd string or somebody comes out and beats a good Vikings team?? ..got to love this game:)...Sammy

Two more shockers of the day:

(1) In the first half of the Panthers/Giants game, the Giants gained 18 yards and Manning was sacked 6 times.

(2) The Lions won a game in Washington DC for the first time since 1939.

Yeah, (deep sigh heard), we in DC were kind of fond of that stat.:redface2: Oh well. -- Al

Al:

What is the local DC media's take on the Redskin's problems? Is it defense, RG III etc?
Funny you should ask. I opened the AM paper and there on the sports page, in huge headline letters is this, "RG 0-3". Hysterical. These writers are so clever. At any rate, the main problem is the defense, hands down, no contest. The offense hasn't been very good either, but it is the defense, specifically the secondary, that is being so badly torched. No real solution either. RG3 is taking criticism for his mistakes and such, but he is very young and still recovering from his operation and still trying to get up to full speed. He is not the problem. No one is playing very well.{sm2} -- Al

Al:

Thanks for the update. I was just curious as ESPN seems to only focus on RG III. It seems to me that he is still recovering, but more importantly, he is always playing catch up as the defense puts them in a hole constantly.

Just read where the Skins defense has given up more yards through 3 games than any team in NFL history. NO offense could overcome that kind of historic incompetence. -- Al
