Sammy:

That was a great win for the Pats and a tough loss for the Ravens. My Niners won a ho-hum game against Arizona, but like we say, a win is a win.

I still find Flacco a puzzle. He looks terrible for 3 quarters, then catches fire and plays out of his mind. Too bad it was too little, too late. As to the Pats win, if you give Brady the ball last, you lose. It's that simple and as pretty much a sure thing as the NFL offers. :wink2: -- Al

Stat of the day:

Oakland had a 3rd and 48. 2 yards short of 3rd and literally half the field.

Think of it this way; Flacco makes 20 million a year, so he got paid a million bucks for that performance yesterday.

And as far as Brady; give him the ball last and you lose, unless you've got an NY on your helmet.

Ah yes. Super Bowl PTSD. I still suffer from SBIII PTSD.:p And it never goes away or gets better.{sm2} Is it just coincidence that it is also NY city related? -- Al

Nope, it will go away when they win another one.

The NY has nothing to do with it, the last name of Manning has everything to do with it, he and his brother have combined to cost the Patriots 3 Super Bowls.

That is the question: will they win another one with Brady and Belichek. I don't see it happening this year, although they could get to the SB if Peyton folds again. Beating Seattle or the 49ers? I don't see that as likely.

Take Seattle out of that loony bin stadium of theirs and they are beatable; the 49ers have their own set of issues.

We'll see what happens when Manning comes to Foxboro in a few weeks.

6 and 0, 6 and 0!!! Here we go!!

Unbelievable that my Chiefs are 6 and 0 and the only other team is Denver in our own AFC West our usual rival. Whom by the way with Denver is my man Peyton Manning former and brother Alma mater Tennessee Volunteer!!
Could it get any better!!

And the Giants are 0-6? What is happening there? Not enough time to to follow it.

Arrowhead Mike!

Steeler week!!!!! Which to me is the circle the date on the calendar week!! If my Ravens can win in Pittsburg this week we will be fine, lose this one and it will be time to push the alarm, always a good hard hitting game with no love for each other, respect yes, rivalry **** strait!!...Sammy

Sammy:

I think the Steelers/Ravens rivalry is one of the best going in the NFL. I am not a fan of either team, but when they play each other I always watch.

Cheers to the Redskins, hail victory. Redskins win their second game of the year in a classic shootout with the Bears, 45-41. Second highest scoring game in the NFL this year. RG3 looked good and so did the rushing game but the defense is TERRIBLE. 6 games in and their giving up 30.5 points per. Won't be many more wins if that continues. Thanks to the weak NFC East, Redskins are still in the division hunt, being 1.5 games back of Dallas. -- Al

So today in overtime, Jets vs Patriots, the Jets try a field goal from four miles out, no good, Patriots get the ball almost at midfield.

HOLD ON, WAIT.

Penalty vs New England, 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct, excessive pushing.

Yep, excessive pushing on the field goal attempt.

Jets keep the ball, kick a field goal and fatso and the Jets get the win.

With each and every passing week, I am becoming less and less of a fan of the NFL.

Excessive pushing.

Normally this would annoy me, but after last night, to be frank, I could give a @#$% less.

Actually, Rex is not that fat anymore but I do agree that was a ridiculous call. Football has some strange rules. Anyway, a win is a win and let's face it the Jets mostly outplayed the Pats today.

Considering how the Jets have played, if they win 7 games, it will be hard for them to fire Rex.

Excessive pushing? It reminds me of Art Donavan (RIP), when he was on David Letterman's show. Letterman asked him what he thought of the state of today's NFL. Donovan said he couldn't understand the injuries that involved anything being pinched. He said something like, broken, crushed and amputated were the ones from his day but there was no pinched anything.
