The whole game turned around on that strip sack.

The Colts defense stunk today and they were incredibly lucky, Charles goes out for the game in the first quarter and they still couldn't stop the Chiefs.

The Broncos will light them up next week.

A choke job worthy of the title. Luck was channeling his inner Frank Reich. -- Al
For those unaware of it, Frank Reich (former Univ. of Md. and Buffalo Bills QB), for a time held the record for leading his teams to the largest comeback wins in college and pro football. In 1984, UMd trailed Miami U 31-0 at the half. Reich then lead his the Terps to a 42-40 win. In Buffalo in 1993, the Bills trailed the Houston Oilers by a 35-3 score before Reich lead the comeback to win 41-38. Not a bad job by the old Terp Qb and quite an unusual record to hold. -- Al

This goes down as the second greatest comeback in playoff history as they came back from 28 points down whereas the Bills came back from 32.

Glad I'm not a KC fan. Suicide watch will be on alert tonight in Kansas City.
Especially as the Chiefs started the season 9-0 and then limped to elimination at a 2-6 record over the last 8 games. Tough collapse to swallow but consistent with Reid's playoff record. -- Al

Reich still has the NFL record. Colts' deficit was 28, Bills' 32.

The vaunted Philly offense isn't doing much tonight. 5 minutes gone in the 3rd and they only have 7 first downs and 120 total yards, and they trail 13-7. -- Al

Two close games to open the playoffs, one a wild shootout and one a more modest offensive display, but both good games. Congrats to the Saints for their win in Philly. I didn't think they could do it. You just can't leave Brees time on the clock. -- Al

Well, if the 49ers can win tomorrow we could be potentially looking at Seahawks vs 49ers in two weeks time.

Ok fellows time to pick our winners for this weekend wild card game, I will take the colts over the Chiefs, the Bengals over the Chargers, the Packers over the 49'ers and the Saints over the Eagles, bottom line the Bengals are playing some great ball and wouldn't be surprised if they are in the AFC championship game...Sammy
Well not to shabby on Sat. games 2-0, tough picks for Sun...Sammy

Have to come out and say it, I feel bad for the Chiefs. The hit on the receiver who left b/c of a concussion was an easy 15 yard target to the head that was not called early in that game, also would have changed that possession. I just feel like the Chiefs got screwed in this game. That said, if ALex Smith hits the wide open guy late in fourth qtr, they win despite letting the Colts back into it.

Luck got lucky, call it a great comeback sure, but the chips just seem to fall in place no matter what.

TD

What about the play early in the game on the huge Chiefs gain by Bowe where he looked like he was going to score and the Colts defender got past the other Chiefs receiver and made the tackle on the two yard line, the Colts defense stiffened and held the Chiefs to a field goal there; if that receiver makes the block there, it's a TD, a four point swing and the Chiefs win 48-45.

Although is there any doubt had the Chiefs punted the ball back to the Colts with 2:00 left that Luck would have gotten them into field goal range to tie the game?

Never seen a quarterback look so horrible one minute and then so good the next, talk about a up and down performance.

As a Chiefs fan like Tom said, man you've got to be just sick today, that team would have had a real shot at beating Denver next week.

The traffic jam of covered wagons leaving Lucas Oil Stadium yesterday must have been epic.

Marvin Lewis and the Bungals have once again lived up to their reputation as post-season disasters. The Chargers are a dangerous team. -- Al

I've never been a huge Dalton. He shows occasional brilliance but is often more of an enigma.

Best of luck with that one Peyton.

All three of the remaining AFC playoff teams have one thing in common; they've all beaten the Broncos.

I think once again this year we will not be seeing the two #1 seeds facing off in the big dance...............

Happy to see the 49er's move on, winning in another nail-biter. Went 3-1 on my picks, with only the Colt's comeback spoiling my weekend. Kaepernick played a good game and killed Green Bay with his legs. On to the next round. -- Al

Al:

That is the third time in about 12 months that we have beaten the Packers, mostly due to Kaepernick's ability to run. Green Bay simply does not have enough team speed on defense to contain his style and it has been exploited in all three of the Niner wins. As we saw in the regular season, teams with agile and fast linebackers/defensive backs tend to do well against us (ie Carolina and Seattle). The best I can hope for is that we can beat Carolina and the Saints knock off Seattle. Then again, like George mentioned about Denver in the AFC, the three remaining NFC teams have one thing in common, they have all beaten the Niners.

Three of the four home teams lost, the fourth absolutely should have as well.

Next weekend should be interesting, I hope those games are as good as these four were...............

Another interesting fact is that 3 of the 4 winners trailed at halftime.

I was most surprised by San Diego. I wonder if they have a little bit of that "hot at the right time coupled with luck" thing going.

There seems to be one every year; at one point they were 5-7 and done, won 4 in a row, had all of the teams in front of them lose, played the Chiefs B squad in the last game, Succop missed a chip shot field goal and off they went...........

Some great games this past weekend, throw out the Bengal debacle that is, really surprised how the Chargers took over that game against a strong Cinncy defense, already looking forward to this weekends game Cam or Cappy?? I'll take Cam, Colts "Luck" will run out in New England, and the Saints will go marching home after a loss in Seattle, Chargers at Broncos?? The movie 'a river(s) run through it) rings a bell :) but not happening twice as Manning and co are still pissed at losing in the divisional round last year, I expect a blow out to be honest byDenver...setting up what all the NFL fans want (except me) another installment of Brady vs. Manning for a trip to the big show, that week the NFC teams left wont even exist as the media hype will be in SuperBowl mode due to Pats/Broncos, they had it all planned last year but just didn't happen :) so a Seattle vs New England Superbowl perhaps?? why not, if I remember the last time the Sox won the World Series the Pats won the Superbowl...Sammy
