Some great games this past weekend, throw out the Bengal debacle that is, really surprised how the Chargers took over that game against a strong Cinncy defense, already looking forward to this weekends game Cam or Cappy?? I'll take Cam, Colts "Luck" will run out in New England, and the Saints will go marching home after a loss in Seattle, Chargers at Broncos?? The movie 'a river(s) run through it) rings a bell :) but not happening twice as Manning and co are still pissed at losing in the divisional round last year, I expect a blow out to be honest byDenver...setting up what all the NFL fans want (except me) another installment of Brady vs. Manning for a trip to the big show, that week the NFC teams left wont even exist as the media hype will be in SuperBowl mode due to Pats/Broncos, they had it all planned last year but just didn't happen :) so a Seattle vs New England Superbowl perhaps?? why not, if I remember the last time the Sox won the World Series the Pats won the Superbowl...Sammy

Sammy I agree with all of your picks . . . which probably does not bode well for you!{sm4}

I think the Saints will have a really tough time of it so I don't see them having much of a chance of winning. However, I think the other three games should be very competitive. This is a must game for Manning to prove that he can handle the playoff pressure. If he doesn't, his legacy takes a little bit of a hit. The Chargers remind me a little bit of the 2009 Jets: they had no business being there so everything from here on is gravy. Go with the Chargers. Gotta go out on a limb once in a while.

I like the 49ers against Carolina, who remind me of the Giants from a few years ago when they had the league's best record and went out in the divisional round (against the Eagels I think).

Colts vs. Pats is the QB of the future vs. the aging king. Are we seeing the passing of the torch? Not yet, but it should be a great game.

The dream finals would be Manning v. Brady and Revenge Match III: 49ers vs Seahawks, two teams and two coaches that really don't like each other.

Brad

I think the best game and most even match-up will be the Niners v. the Panthers(all bias aside, LOL). I think we have a good chance of winning but I am not as sure as I was against the Packers.

I guess I am in the minority wanting one more Brady v. Manning game. It won't be long before they are both gone from the game and as a fan I truly want to see them play as many times as possible before it is over. They are two of the greatest ever, plain and simple.

To be totally honest with you Jason I like the 49'ers and wouldn't mind seeing them win it all but I can not stand Jim Harbough!! Love my John Harbough so maybe I'm to biased but the arrogance of Jim H. Just kills me, watching his press conference yesterday was pure Jim, he never gives credit to the other team and its always a me-me type conversation with that dude, the best was at last years Super Bowl press conference with both coaches, John was easy going, relaxed in answering questions dressed in normal street clothes, while Jim was fidgety, nervous, of course wearing his coaching side line attire, sorry for the rant Jason but the guy needs to work on modesty a little...Sammy

Why does he need to work on his modesty? He is what he is. You can express your dislike for him but don't expect him to change. I don't think it's a requirement that we like the people who coach or play for the teams that we follow; we just want them to succeed. Athletes are driven people who to succeed need to think they're the best. If they don't have confidence in themselves, they probably won't be successful.

I will agree with you only on one thing... he is what he is and I'll leave it at that...Sammy

Sammy:

I am one of the biggest Niner fans there is and I can't stand him. He certainly does not fit in with the alumni of Superbowl winning coaches that we have had. Bill Walsh was full of humility and quiet confidence, while George Seifert was so unassuming that you would have guessed that he was a programmer for IBM, not an NFL head coach.

He is arrogant, not confident. His actions in dealing with Jim Schwarz and Pete Carroll following wins the past few years were embarrassing. His excuses at the end of last year's Superbowl were pathetic.

I hope we win it all, but dread seeing him and his ego on full display if we do.

Best,
Jason

Well, the Redskins got Jay Gruden suckered into the head coach position. Not sure about this one, but what the heck. Short of reincarnating Vince Lombardi, what were we going to do, anyway? My opinion is that the head coach makes no difference as long as Danny Boy Snyder is running this team into the ground.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Al:

Any word from the local press about the reports that RG III has/had some sort of powerful influence with Dan Snyder?

Hi Jason. That particular story has been in and out of the news here all season. Snyder was the driving force behind getting RGIII, without much, if any, input from the front office/coaching staff. Snyder likes to be 'one of the guys' in the locker room and be accessible to RGIII. I'm sure RGIII has Snyder's ear but to what degree is what all the speculation is about. Snyder needs to step back, stop being a pal to the players, and let his football people run the team. -- Al

Al:

Thanks for the insight. We don't always get the whole story nationally. Snyder sounds a little like Jerry Jones.

Time for weekend picks, I was 2-2 last week, I will give the 49ers a close win, also have the Broncos whipping the Chargers, the Pats knock off the Colts in their regular playoff fashion, and the Seahawks beat the Saints in a close one, love this weekend!!...Sammy

OK, this is just too funny.

Dan Snyder giving his staff a bag of apples as their holiday bonus??? Way to develop a loyal following!

Perhaps the new head coach can hold out for the full fruit gift basket (including oranges and bananas)!!! Come to think of it, something that profound will need to be written into the contract so Mr. Snyder doesn't renege!

Well, it is better than ashes and switches. Marginally. :rolleyes2: -- Al

Hope the next game is better as this one sucks, hawks up 16-0 Saints look terrible...Sammy

I was hoping that N.O. would pull this one out. Don't much care for Seattle. From the looks of things, it must be raining everywhere today.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Me too. Just a couple of mistakes hurt them. Had they got it going in the first half they might have done it.
