Good grief. It looks like the competitive part of the Patriots-Colts game is over already, at 14-0 Pats. I'd say game over if it weren't for that Colt comeback last week. Problem is, NE is not KC. This one could be done. -- Al
P.S. - Colts just scored. Prediction could be in error.

Nay, I was right. Somewhere along the line, I missed the memo about NE becoming a old-time running team instead of the pass-happy team I remember them being. Kind of does my heart good to see a run-first orientation for a change. They sure ran the Colts off the field. :wink2: -- Al

That was great to see, run the ball, eat the clock and keep it away from Luck. Over 200 yards rushing.

The linebackers had a great game today, two INT's, took away all the underneath stuff, Luck beat them several times deep, but he threw 4 INT's too.

Eight AFCCG's in twelve years.

Unreal; as one of the commentators said on the NFL network, the Patriots are the gold standard of the NFL.

Regardless of what happens next week, this has been a remarkable season; Hernandez arrested for murder, Welker gone, Gronk out, Mayo out, Wilfork out, yet they plug guys in, change from a pass happy to a run happy team, on to the next round.....................

Great win for the Patriots, like you said they are the gold standard. Good job by the Colts this year too, Beatimg Manning and the Seahwaks in the same season was impressive (the best records in the AFC and NFC respectively). Luck will have his time, it is just not now.

Now it looks like the Patriots are one win away from a Superbowl matchup with my Niners!

Only saw the first half because I have an early flight to catch this morning but impressive win. Also nice interview Cowher did with Coach Belichek.

I missed the interview Brad, what was the theme?

Good win by the 49er's in a tough game. Now on to the championship game and to beat the Seachickens. -- Al

Al:

Yup, tough and well deserved win! I am happy and feeling good about getting to the Superbowl now.

Peyton throws an INT in the end zone, keeping it a two score game, not that it matters as SD looks just awful today.

I love those audibles Manning calls at the line of scrimmage; "Omaha, Omaha, Papa Johns, forehead, hut, hut"..................

Chargers made it interesting but should have gone for the 2nd onside kick. Game wouldn't have been so close if the Bronco receivers could have held onto the ball. Counted 7 dropped passes of Manning's 11 incompletions. We have the dream matchup that everyone figured on to start with. Brady v Manning for the SB berth. Should be a goody. -- Al

I don't have the first clue as to what San Diego's offensive coordinator was thinking, they were conservative for three quarters, even down 17-0 they kept trying to establish the run when they have the weapons to expose the below average Denver secondary.

Then they score and start chucking the ball all over the place and go up and down the field.

Unbelievable.

I'll be on full media blackout this week, all of the Manning vs Brady/Legacy Bowl BS will be painful to watch and listen to.

IF the refs let them play and stay away from the ticky tack BS PI calls, it will be a great game. The Patriots need to find a way to get pressure on Manning, the Chargers got zero pressure on him today, if he has that kind of time to throw vs NE, it could get ugly.

Go Seahawks!

So in the AFC you have the old guard of Brady v.Manning and in the NFC you have the young guns of Kaepernick v. Wilson. What a great final four and I can't wait for the Patriots v. the Niners in the Superbowl.

George...

it was good kite weather...they had 25 mph gusts...the ball was blowing off the kickoff tee...Denver's high octane offense only passed for 230 yrds...SD for 194...it was dangerous to throw today...

Understood, maybe the wind died down in the 4th quarter as they were whipping the ball all over the place on the Denver defense.

Denver opened at -7.5 already; wow, give me the Patriots and those points all day long and twice on Sunday, we'll see if the line moves as I think it will, people will be betting big on New England, even my Dad's Patriots hater neighbor will lay big money with New England.

What a piece of work that guy is; whenever the Patriots lose, he's always out in his driveway when visit my parents during the week so he can break my stones, yet when they win, he's nowhere to be found............funny how that works.

that's what they call a "fair weather friend"...^&grin

and yes...Brady with 7 1/2 is a ton...silly in fact...in my opinion...

I bet it will drop to 6 1/2 before kickoff...

Seahawks -3 has everything to do with home field advantage.

I read an article many years ago...about the Asian community in San Francisco and gambling...

the gist of it was...that they do enjoy their gambling...very, very, very much...

and they bet so much...on their home team...in this case the 49ers...

that they influence the Las Vegas line by 1-2 points...

if that's still the case...

in theory...Seattle may drop to -1 or -2...

My bet is (LOL, pun intended) that the line will change. With all due respect to the Patriots and Broncos the Niners are the hottest team in football having won 8 in row, beating Carolina, Green Bay and Seattle within that streak. I think it will be at -1.5 come kickoff. The bad part, they can't keep winning forever and my nightmares are full of Brady and company handing us our second Superbowl loss in a row.
