Teams will line up to sign him.

He's an incredible talent, I don't understand the dirty player act. Usually, dirty players have crap for talent, so they are dirty to make up for it, this guy is a great player, he needs to lose the dirty player act.

Here's the play; you be the judge.........

I have seen the play several times...I think it was intentional...he stepped on his ankle twice...it's hard to cry wolf so many times and expect any consideration from the NFL office...his reputation is horrific...he was voted the most disliked and dirtiest player several times throughout his career...

there is an analyst on Fox Sports website that says he think it was not deliberate...I disagree...

http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/...-aaron-rodgers-packers-lions-nfc-north-122814

he would be a big loss in a playoff game...if Murray has a good game on the ground...some blame will go to him...

will other coaches...teams...owners stand in line for him...I'm not so sure about that...

All good Tom as all the great experts are predicting a double digit win for the steelers already, one thing I do know of the Ravens they seem to play Horrible when favored to win but the opposite when the underdogs, don't no why?? So I'm hoping the media, papers, exsperts pile it on all week about that double digit win and the steelers sit back and read/listen to every note of it, underdog?? Seems to be a fitting title this year anyway...Sammy

On paper right now, if Bell plays, the Steelers are a ten point plus better team, but that is on paper. Anything can happen in the playoffs, but I am routing for a Flacco flop and I do think Harrison is going to wreak havoc on him. They teed off on Dalton last night with a healthy line, so we will see. Oh, Ravens do get back their drug suspended Nose Guard, that is a crime in my opinion, he should be gone for the year.

Love the media, here's some fellows on the ESPN panel today....rest Bell to make sure he is ready for the next round, as Baltimore basically won't show up:) I'm hoping the steeler coaches listen and think that's a great idea,... pile on on fellows, hell let's just make them a even 20 point fav. that's what they beat the Ravens by last time right??...Sammy

I think you are missing my point, as I said right NOW in this part of the season on paper the Steelers and how they are playing are 10 point favorites, but that is on paper. Its the playoffs and anything can happen, so it is even money as is every playoff game as you only have to win once to move on. One interception at the wrong time, one big pass play and it goes the other way.

TD

No, I hear what you are saying Tom, it's the media that seem to always blow things out of perportion one way or another, you think (the majority) of those guys would know by now that anything in the playoffs can happen and usually does year in and year out, for instance let's say Steelers win Sat. nite we get the "I told you so speech" and if the Ravens win then you get the "team of destiny speech" to cover thier *****, oh well I guess everyone has a job to do and thiers is to make all the predictions...Sammy

Since I don't have a stake in this match, I don't think it really matters who wins. Neither is good enough to beat the Broncos or the Patriots.

Brad,
I dunno, Manning has looked weak, especially the colder the weather gets, so I think the Broncos are vulnerable. I actually think the only teams that have a shot at Brady and Co in Foxboro is the teams from the AFC North. Manning and Luck stink in the outdoors up there.

Again, who knows, that is just my opinion.

I hate to interject with Niner news but good-bye and good riddance to Harbaugh. It will be nice to follow the sports page rather than the police blotter.

I am not going near the Ravens/Steelers as I count Sammy and TD among my friends.

And Suh? How tall is that guy? I didn't know they piled crap that high?

I only know as much as I do about the 49ers because my son is a big fan. Do you really think the team is better off without him than with him? Doubtful. I see something like the Singletary years returning. Where would Alex Smith be today without him. Probably cut. In my view, the GM is responsible for this state of affairs coming to pass. If you're going to say, he's no Bill Walsh. Correct. There was only one of those. However, he got the team to a SB and two NFC title games. Most teams would settle for that.

Brad,
I believe he got them to three NFCCG's, they lost to Seattle and the Giants, but your point stands, he had a lot of success, the next guy is going to have a tough act to follow..................

That's for sure. Whenever my son hears the GM's name, all he can say is "Trent bleepin' Baalke."

Now, I know that he rubs people the wrong way but so did coaches like Bill Parcells. Even though he would tell you where to get off if you asked a stupid question, everybody loved him. I'm not sure Belichick is the most lovable guy in the world but what New England fan wants to see him gone. You probably could say that about many a successful coach.

The problem with successful coaches is they become egomaniacs. Parcells came to New England and brought the Patriots from doormats to Super Bowl contenders, then he had an issue with the GM and the owner, so he left.

His famous line when he left here was "If they want you to cook the dinner, they should allow you to shop for the groceries", the implication being he wanted a say in what players they draft.

It's funny because he went to the Dolphins and was the quasi GM and the Dolphins had terrible drafts while he was there.

The GM is the one who drafts the players, the coach takes what he is given and coaches.

Some of these coaches like Holmgren and Belichick wanted total control; Holmgren was hugely successful in Green Bay, then left and went to Seattle as the coach/GM and had some success, but nothing like what he had in Green Bay.

Belichick is the coach/GM here, his draft record is pretty good, nothing spectacular; I wonder if he has too much on his plate sometimes............

I think the trouble with Rex is that during the Tannebaum regime he bought the groceries, as well as doing the cooking.

For the most part, with good coaches come good quarterbacks.

Look at the 12 teams in the playoffs and their QBs; in the AFC Brady, Manning, Luck, Big Ben, Flacco, Dalton. Two of those are great, two are very good, the other two are good enough. In the NFC Romo, Wilson, Rodgers, Newton, Stafford and some tomato can. One is great, three are very good, one is good, one is mediocre at best.

When you build a team, you need to build from the QB out as if you don't have a good to great one, you're going nowhere.

If you look at the last 15 Super Bowl winners, the vast majority had very good to great QB's, there were maybe two stiffs in there, one in particular was horrible (Dilfer) but had probably the best defense since the 86 Bears on his side.

That is what doomed Rex; he couldn't develop a good QB and it cost him his job.

awwwww...

this sucks...

Suh won his appeal and will play Sunday against the Cowboys...

they did fine him $70,000...but that will probably just make him meaner...^&grin

The 49er fan base (at least in the Bay Area) is not just about winning. How you win is as important as the wins themselves. Harbaugh ran a team that turned a blind eye to player indiscretions, and of course the players loved him for that. The fans cringed knowing that at least once a week a Niner would be in the news for an arrest. And according to local media there was even a sense within the locker room that players could knowingly run afoul of the law secure in the knowledge that Harbaugh had their backs. He was also a sore loser and even worse, a poor sport when he won.

I don't compare him to Bill Walsh when it comes to wins and losses, I compare him to Walsh in other aspects such as sportsmanship and player discipline.

There are no style points for winning. In today's sports it is about winning, albeit winning within the rules. Why do you think there are so many GM and coach openings today. The 49ers are not the only ones with a problem. It's unfortunately endemic.

Not even Yankee fans had the temerity to complain about style points.

I wonder what the fans will say if they bottom out next year: "we lost with class"?

I see that Rex is interviewing next week for the 49ers position. I assume that if he gets the job, he'll say that he's not there to kiss Pete's ring(s) ^&grin
