There are no style points for winning. In today's sports it is about winning, albeit winning within the rules. Why do you think there are so many GM and coach openings today. The 49ers are not the only ones with a problem. It's unfortunately endemic.

Not even Yankee fans had the temerity to complain about style points.

I wonder what the fans will say if they bottom out next year: "we lost with class"?

Good point about winning at all costs in this day and age, sad but true.

I don't think that they that we will say "we lost with class" but there is something be to said about losing without a roster full of criminals. The way Harbaugh Handled Aldon Smith fiasco did it for me. Now we are hearing that he also wanted to keep McDonald on the roster after he was accused of sexual assault but had no clout left and was already halfway out the door.

The worst stat as a Niner fan in 2014, there were more 49ers arrested than Raiders.

It reminds me of Suh, I have a heck of a lot more respect for organizations that pass on him as opposed to those who ignore his antics simply because it means more wins.

I see that Rex is interviewing next week for the 49ers position. I assume that if he gets the job, he'll say that he's not there to kiss Pete's ring(s) ^&grin

Ok, I know this may sound strange but I would love it if Rex became the next Niner coach.

Bad enough that a sub-.500 team hosts a playoff game, but trailing by only 1 at the half, could they actually win, as well? Come on Cards. -- Al

Carolina has played well lately, Arizona not. Having a quality QB has hurt them. Had they not lost Carson Palmer, I'm sure they would have been the number 1 seed.

Arizona's punter is no asset to their defense...this guy looks like a high school punter...

Arizona left their offense and special teams in Phoenix.:rolleyes2: 77 yards of total offense. What a disgrace. -- Al

Not that I'm an Arizona fan but since they had to go to a third string QB, I believe they've had trouble scoring points. I actually did think the Panthers would win today. Arians should get an award for holding it together this long.

the amazing Joe Montana...

He doesn't look so amazing in the new commercial rifling down that "free" slice of Papa Johns floor tile with confetti and ketchup on it passing as pizza.

They should give you a roll of toilet paper with every pizza purchased.

And the jersey tucked into the jeans look is not working for Frankenforehead in that commercial either.

Pretty typical Ravens/Steelers game so far. Don't think for an instant that a 13-9 lead will hold up. Baltimore has to find a way to keep hold of the ball for a while and give their defense a rest. -- Al

That was an unfortunate turnover and even more unfortunate result on the next play.:( Typical Ravens/Steelers... -- Al

Alright Sammy, your boys have pulled it off. Impressive win on the road. Congratulations to the Ravens. -- Al

Like I said on paper means nothing and the lack of bell really hurt. Ravens defense deserves the win. Ok sorry Sammy but I am a number one Patriot fan next week.

Td

Full credit to the Ravens for that win but the Steelers were pretty much doomed the moment Nelson took out Bell's knee the week before. They had no run game without him and more importantly they missed his blocking as he is considered one of the best pass blocking backs in the NFL.

Sammy,
Not sure I agree. I think the Steelers D is starting to gel and Harrison looks like a 25 year old and he absolutely loves to eat up the Ravens especially against reserve tackles. Even though I am a fan, I think the Black and Gold is starting to churn, momentum is looking good and I like home field against the Ravens. Who knows, should be a good matchup, but I would rather play the Ravens at home than go against Luck in the dome, especially where it seems every call goes to Indy. SO, if we keep up our momentum, I think we win this by 10.

TD

Sorry Tom, Ravens win by 13, and really it wasn't even that close by the 3rd quarter, Harrison looked like the guy that came out of retirement by games end, (those reserves played pretty good) and the the defense that looked like it was gelling tonite was the Ravens, and as for ol boring Flacco all the dude does in playoffs is win, hell of a game tonite and if T.Smith had dragged that one foot down another td would have been added. if you got tired of hearing Ravens last week Tom you're gonna love this week, gonna be a lonnnnnggg day at the office on Monday.:)

I'm sure the Ravens will be a 10 + point under dog next Saturday as well, I guess that's why they play the games...Sammy
