Nfl 2014 (2 Viewers)

From what Mike Pereira said the ground can cause an incomplete pass and you have to show that you have possession when you hit the ground. I don't believe that the ball hit the ground but he didn't have full possession when he initially hit the ground. Therefore, no catch.
It looked to me as he had perfect control of the ball until his arm hit the ground and caused the bobble. Even so, he never lost the ball. Now how can the ground cause an incomplete pass when the ground can't cause a fumble? Like I said, he appeared to have complete control as he went down. Cowpokes got robbed. -- Al

Broiled wild caught Alaskan Salmon in a lemon and olive oil marenade . . . yummy . . .

Well I know the weather is so darn cold the fish wouldn't spoil in transport. I'll save you any leftovers and send them to you next Christmas . . .
:p Mike

You can believe it.....in the second game those beautiful white helmets with the horse shoe, still gets me ;(....Sammy
Me too, Sammy. Can't bring myself to root for the Irsay's and their Indy team. Hope Denver creams them. Denver is my last hope for a team to root for in the playoffs. I'm 0-3 with the others.:redface2: -- Al

I'll settle for the recipe on your pulled pork with that sauce you make...^&grin...

I just wish they would get rid of all replay. It's ruining the game. If anything, that Bryant catch was a TD. Yes he bobbled it but I saw no clear evidence that the ball hit the ground. He regained full control in the endzone. Right before the 2nd half the ball to Cobb clearly hit the ground. The view from behind showed it yet Steratore said it was a catch?? I don't think the refs even know the rules now. Just make the call on the field and that's its. Replay review is just made for TV garbage.

that is the way I hoped the officials would see it...^&grin

and I remember that catch by Cobb...it was hard to tell for me...

but I don't think I want to give up instant reply...

most times...I think the corrections are right...

they do make for a longer game...^&grin

Beginning to think the same way. Dump the replay crap. Slows up the game and too much indecision on what can be seen and what can't be seen. -- Al

if anything...and I have watched it now 20 times on replay...^&grin...

it kind of looks like he pinched the ball between his palm and his shoulder as he extended...

with it never touching the ground...maybe...hard to tell...

and it squirted up into his hands while he was on his back rolling into the endzone...not touching the ground after that...

it's a judgement call...the human factor...

I'm not mad or gonna cry over whether it was the right call or not...it is what it is...so it's over...I don't think any game hinges on officiating...there are some calls that seem game changing...but Dallas should have stopped them and gotten the ball back...

but Romo has a lot of time off to get healthy...and if they can add to their secondary and pass rush...resign Dez...and maybe Murray...I think they will be competitive next year...

this was a big year for the Cowboys...

after losing Hatcher...their # 1 pass rush/sacker...Demarcus Ware...and Sean Lee...all before the season started...I knew they wouldn't have a pass rush and the secondary wouldn't get many favors due to a pass rush...

they have the basis of a good run offensive line...they can run the ball...I think they can be competitive next year...

Mike:

This is one of the best posts in this thread. No excuses or complaints about a questionable call from a dedicated fan of the team who the call went against, rather you chose simple acceptance with an eye towards the future. I hope that I can be as gracious the next time something like this happens to one of my favorite teams.

Somebody need to explain this idiotic Qb rating system that the NFL uses. Manning is 5-9 passing, with 52 yards, a 5.8 yard average, with a rating of 109.5. Luck is 15-20, 134 yards at a 6.7 average, and has a rating of 109.2. In what world does Luck get a lower rating for having better stats in each catagory? Idiocy. -- Al

Quick impression; Manning can't hit the broadside of a barn so far today. Hope it gets better in the second half or I am going 0-4 with no one to root for.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Lesson learned during today's Dallas / Packer game. Put up enough earned points on the board so that one call does not cause you to
lose the game. All of the teams that made it to the playoffs deserve credit for getting to this point. Good luck to the final few :salute::

okay...I got a friend...who is such a Cowboy fan...we tease him that he has a Romo tattoo on his ***...

he just emailed me this...

interpret it anyway you think fit...

it's pretty interesting really...

COMPLETED OR INTERCEPTED PASS

Article 3 Completed or Intercepted Pass. A player who makes a catch may advance the ball. A forward pass is complete

(by the offense) or intercepted (by the defense) if a player, who is inbounds:

(a) secures control of the ball in his hands or arms prior to the ball touching the ground; and

(b) touches the ground inbounds with both feet or with any part of his body other than his hands; and

(c) maintains control of the ball long enough, after (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, to enable him to perform any act

common to the game (i.e., maintaining control long enough to pitch it, pass it, advance with it, or avoid or ward off an

opponent, etc.).

Note 1: It is not necessary that he commit such an act, provided that he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so.

Note 2: If a player has control of the ball, a slight movement of the ball will not be considered a loss of possession. He must

lose control of the ball in order to rule that there has been a loss of possession.

If the player loses the ball while simultaneously touching both feet or any part of his body to the ground, it is not a catch.

Hard to remember a more ineffective game by Manning. Can't get anything done. A passing average of 3.5 yards per attempt isn't a passing game, it's a rushing average. -- Al

Waiting for spot replay......if not a 1st Down Colts win??...Colts win this one

Colts looked sharp on offense and defense and think they will give the Pats a hell of a game, of course I'm still bitter, so let's go C-O-L-T-S!!!!!!!!!! haven't said that in many a year:)...Sammy

Always bet with my heart, which is why I never back my bets with money. Had my heart broken many a time. My picks are Ravens, Panthers, Cowboys (though it hurts), and Broncos. On my past history, I'll lose all 4.:rolleyes2: -- Al
Well, I sure called that one. What a disaster of a weekend for me. I've watched my last pro-game this season. Can't stand any of the 4 teams left so I won't be watching. Good luck to my friends with teams left in the mix. For me, it's college basketball until spring training starts. This will be the first time I haven't watched the 2 championship games or the Super Bowl. Kind of depressing. Adios until the 2015 NFL regular season gets started. -- Al

This is not the game I picked as an upset. In fact, I thought Denver would beat them easily.

Guess there's a new sheriff in town.
