Brady and the boys YES

Beginning of the week John Madden
predicted that the SB will be won on
a late comeback 28 - 24 by the Patriot
I coud'n believe the final score on a late comeback
Anybody seen that on football news ??

Brady 53 td in playoffs
12 td in Super Bowl

Can't add to what has been said already. They go from a miraculous catch to a very poor decision. I understand if it was 4th Down.

Anyway, congratulations to George. I'm sure his emotions have been up and down tonight.

In my opinion, this wasn't the Seattle defense we've become accustomed to seeing. They seemed to answer the call in the 3rd but couldn't do it in the 4th.

I called it 2 weeks ago the Pats would win a close one, so Congrats to the Patriots, to come back and win over the Ravens/Seahawks after being down by 14 to the Ravens and 10 to the Seahawks they proved to be the best in 2014, I do agree with the majority of the free world that the pass at the goal line had to be one of the most moronic of all time, but thems the breaks...Sammy

What a game.

Just unbelievable.

I'm speechless.

When Kearse caught that pin ball catch, I wanted to smash something, not again, not another Super Bowl loss thanks to a miracle catch, mind boggling.

Pete the poodle gets cute at the end of the half, goes for a TD instead of a field goal and gets it, then with the best running back in football and two yards to a title, he gets cute and they pass the ball.

This tops the first Patriots Super Bowl win as far as I'm concerned.

This takes the taste of @#$% out of my mouth from that Super Bowl loss to the Giants, Tyree and Goober Manning can both kiss my ***.

Brady has 13 TD's in the Super Bowl, two more than Montana, four wins, as many as Montana and Bradshaw, he's the greatest QB of all time, Belichick has four titles, ties Chuck Noll, he's the greatest coach ever.

Oh, one more thing......................................

DEFLATE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, one more thing; I saw Sherman holding up 24 and signaling touchdown when Revis got beat in the end zone, the cocky SOB that he is.

Here is his reaction to the INT................

Have a nice off season Richard....................

Yeah they where celebrating to early George congrats on the win mate enjoy it.

I am going to soak this in for a long, long time.

Red Sox 2004 WS title #1
Patriots 2001 SB win #2
THIS ONE; #3

Unbelievable.

For people who are not sports fans, they have no clue as to what they are missing.

This is awesome, I'm on cloud nine and will be for a weeks.

This team has a ton of goodwill in the bank now, 4 titles in 14 years, a true dynasty.

I couldn't be more elated about this win. Seattle loses and the local guy, Tom Brady, gets another title!

As I have previously mentioned in this thread, George was with me step by step when the Giants won the World Series, and now it s my turn to share in his happiness with this win. He and all the Patriot fans around this country deserve this win.

Enjoy it George, you stood by your team through thick and thin and you earned the chance to revel in victory.

Strange game. Brady throws over 50 times and gets a win. I think that is a Super Bowl first. NE hardly even tried to run. Seattle was content to sit back and give up those short passes over and over, bend don't break. It almost worked even though it felt like NE should have been ahead by ten TDs. The last drive was weird. Seattle had to take two TOs to avoid delay of game penalties. No way do they pass on second down if they have all three TOs at the end. I think they were concerned with a run getting stopped and suddenly being out of TOs with less than 20 seconds to play. I hate that shotgun formation inside the five. A dumb call but everyone in America expected a run. Play action should have left a guy wide open in that situation. Now the pressure is really on the NFL to sort out the deflated balls issue.

I know NE fans aren't' going to want to hear this and the Pats played great and all that but that game is going to be known as the one that Seahawks gave away. Yes, the Pats won it and it will go down that way in the record books but the Seahawks gave it away, almost in the same sense that the Packers gave it away two weeks ago, but not nearly as bad.

Yeah, you can play that game all day long; if Tyree doesn't make a miracle catch and if Manningham doesn't make another miracle catch, Brady is 6-0 in the Super Bowl.

The Patriots won thanks in part to a great play by a rookie free agent defensive back who jumped a route and picked off a pass.

Just like Tyree and Manningham, Butler made a play, that's what players do, they step up in situations and make plays.

Guess the Madden video game was right, wow; 28-24, right on the nose. Eight out of ten times they got it right.

Fear not Seattle fans; they're already 5-1 favorites to win the Super Bowl in 2016.

So there's that.

This is a little different because they were at the 1 yard line, with three downs at their disposal. There is, of course, no way of knowing if they would have scored on a running play but as great as Brady played, this is the play that people will talk about. In my view, they gave the game away. I'm sure that in most people's minds, they were wondering how much time Brady would have left to engineer a miracle comeback.

As far as who will be the favorite, impossible to figure out at this point. The salary cap changes everything. Seattle will not be able to keep all of its players because Wilson, cheap until now, will be paid. Someone has to go. I'm sure they will be competitive next year but their time may have come and gone.

Several things that really stuck with me about the game:
That Seattle went for the TD at the end of the 1st half. Shocked me, thought the FG was a given in such a huge game.
When NE was down 10 in the 4th, I said to my wife, "NE has Seattle right where they want them." Seen Brady too many times and knew that Seattle was in trouble.
The miracle catch. Slapped head and said "Not again!".
Seattle 1st and goal at the end. Said to wife, They're not in the end zone, yet". Followed by stupidest play in SB history. Talk about outsmarting yourself!
Didn't much enjoy the 5 yards and a cloud of dust passing offense by NE, but it paid results. Just don't enjoy 50 passes a game.
Finally, I must say that overall, I enjoyed the game, mainly because I had no dog in the fight and could watch the game for what it was. And glad that NE won.

Other than the fans of the Patriots, who will savor this for a long time and fans of the Seahawks, who will rue this game, maybe forever, the rest of us can now get back to what really matters: BASEBALL! ^&grin

Will there be an investigation about
the Patriots deflating the Seahawks ??
I wonder what the NFL will say about that

Brady and the boys YES

Butler said after looking at the tapes
when he saw the formation he knew they were
going to pass. Right place at the right time
George it was the longest 2.02 min of the day

340+ carries with 4 fumbles...

that's close to 1 in 100 odds that Lynch would fumble...

he averages 4.7 yards per carry...over 1,600 yards this season...one of the strongest and best running backs in the game...a rugged, gritty running back that always falls forward for 1-2 extra yards..

"Mr. Dependable"...

what was Carroll thinking...

2nd and goal from the 1 yard line with plenty of time left and still holding onto 1 timeout...

not to pick on Seattle fans...the amazing Pete Carroll just out thought himself...I personally don't like him...mostly because he is too animated...I like a little enthusiasm...but I think a coach should be a little more reserved...you can let the players explode...but I think a coach has to be a little more restrained...but that's just me...my coach...Garrett with the Cowboys is just the opposite...and I wish he was a little more extroverted...

but honestly...what made Carroll call a play like that?

this is gonna be a blemish on his coaching skills that will never be forgotten...

I watched the game at home alone...and a friend of mine that bet on the Seahawks...ground on me with obnoxious phone calls the whole second half telling me that I made a bad bet on New England...

when Seattle got the ball on the 1 yard line...I knew Lynch was gonna pound it in and I would be paying my bookie...

then Carroll sends me a gift...

a pass on 2nd and goal...you know the rest...

this was supposed to be one of those plays where you can hear the announcer say...

"Well...everybody in the whole stadium knows who is gonna run the ball in"...

dumb plays happen...but this was a doozie...I thought he was brilliant...maybe he's not...

but then again...if Wilson had connected for a TD pass...I wouldn't be writing this...

Carroll would have been a genius...

I doubt Pete had anything to do with the play call. He might have veto power as the head coach, but leaves the O basically to his offensive coordinator. He is a defensive coach. It was a dumb call in retrospect because it didn't work. But with only one TO if you run the ball as the defense was expecting and get stuffed it is now third down with less than 20 seconds to go and no time outs. No room for error. You can't spike the ball to stop the clock on 4th down if the QB gets sacked or you don't make it in on third down. The problem with the pass is that you have to sell the play action to Lynch and make the D bite on the expected run to open it up for the receiver. Be patient. Someone is wide open if Wilson does that instead of throwing a quick slant to the inside. A bigger risk than the INT in that situation is picking up a holding call or sack which moves you back from the one. Sometimes players make plays and that is what happened. If the play works, then Pete is a genius. If it doesn't, then it's the worst call in history. With all the injuries to the D, Seattle played a heck of a game just to be in a position to win. In fact, the Pats looked as though they gave up after that miracle catch. They let the clock run down. Lynch takes the ball to the one. They were toast.

I think they had 34 seconds and one timeout left...I may be wrong...but I'm pretty sure...
