NFL 2015 Season (2 Viewers)

Jones should keep his mouth shut. That is why social media is bad, not just for athletes but for anyone. You go and say stupid things and then regret it.

I think the Bengals are a good team but don't think the Steelers are that good; even worse now with a hurt QB, no Brown, no running game and a poor secondary. The only thing to look forward to is William Gay scoring and giving us a little dance; I got a laugh out of that on Saturday and his getting a penalty. I believe the TD was reversed but he still got the penalty. Go figure!

The refs blew this one, by not calling a penalty on the Bernard hit. When they looked at replay to see if he had fumbled, they should have been looking at the helmet to helmet hit. That's when a nasty game turned even nastier. If the Bengals keep the ball, perhaps Roethlisberger and Brown don't get subsequently hurt -- I have no doubt that Burfect was trying to give Roethlisberger a little extra because of the non call -- and the Steelers just win the game in ordinary fashion. If, if....

Agree. Supposedly early reports are both Ben and brown play. I think steelers o if healthy can do it all, but the odds would say in this case they will be operating at 50%. With a Jekyll/Hyde defense against a fresh and hof in Manning, I don't have high hopes. I think I am happier that the bengals went home which that thought goes against the sportsmanship instilled in me, but I justify it by the character of a number of bengals. End of day no matter who you like, those characters and others like them around the league are what is wrong with the game today.

So Burfect was giving Roethlisberger something extra just because of the non call?? Nothing to do with him being a dirty player or anything. The guy was benched at Arizona State because of personal foul calls. He was such a dirty player he wasn't even drafted. He was fined $70000 earlier this season for going after Roethlisberger's knees. Check out the hit he laid on Max Williams of the Ravens last week. One of the cheapest hits you'll ever see.

Saw a report today that Roethlisberger has a sprained/seperated shoulder, one good shot Sunday and he's toast, Brown got his bell rung, so how effective will he be?

All of this means I can't wait for the excuses for Frankenforehead when Denver loses.

Despite some reports to the contrary, Brown is in the concussion protocol. I doubt he'd play. For his own wellbeing he should be kept out.

The problem is, despite his reputation as a cheap-shot artist, Berfect is a very talented defensive player. There is no way the Bengals will cut him (as I'm sure their fans wish they would), and if they did, some other team with an owner without morals, such as the Cowboys, would pick him up in a minute. He is appealing his suspension, and who knows if it will hold up. In the end, while talented cheap shot artists should not, they always will have a place in the league.

how about this...

I think Berfect just might fit in better with the Giants...

Odell could teach him a few things about cheap shots...

he would blend well with them...

the Giant's organization doesn't seem to care about cheap shots...

lack of morals I think...

You really don't know the Giants if you make a comment like this. The Giants shy away from people with questionable character. On the other hand, the Cowboys didn't show much compunction about signing a person who belongs in jail.

the comment was for Louis...
but you're welcome to chime in Brad...
it's a public forum...
and you're certainly welcome to your opinion...

maybe I don't know the NY Giants...
at least as well as you do...
but if you don't think I find his comment a little personally inflammatory...
then you don't know me...

to single out the Cowboy's organization...
out of 32 teams...
knowing I'm a Cowboy fan...
and post that the organization has no morals...
implying they will stoop low enough to acquire a talented cheap shot artist...
did you not expect me to respond?

so...if you really believe what you're saying...and reading in the last couple of posts...
then Odell will be traded by the highly morally fibered NY organization ...
the NY organization will not just overlook his on field behavior...
meaning he is also a talented cheap shot artist...
that could of seriously injured someone and halted their career...
3 times in one single game...
3 personal fouls in one single game...

I feel a double standard here by a Cowboy's hater and a NY fan...

lets get our morals straight for all teams...

fair enough?

Since you're argument is with Louis, Mike, I'll butt out and let the two of you go at it :wink2:

I remember him going after Matt Barkley's knee in high school, and they were both committed to USC at the time. What a great way to treat a future teammate! (Although Burfict ending up going to ASU.) Burfict is a savage on the field, always has been. He's one hell of a football player but routinely goes over the edge, nothing new here; it's who he is. I must say he fits right in with the Bengals but not so much with today's NFL.

I watched the game...saw the tackle and all the replays...it looked clean to me...even Roethlisberger said he had no issues with it...this is what they are paid to do...tackle and tackle hard...it's a shame things like this happen...but it's a physical sport...this is really gonna hurt Pittsburgh if Big Ben is out...

"I do not think it was a dirty hit. I think he was playing the game… I know that there is some video of him supposedly kneeing me, or kicking me, or whatever, but I don’t think there was anything intentional."

He said Burfict was just playing hard on the sack late in the third quarter, unlike in Week 14 when the Bengals linebacker hit him low.

Football is violent game played by individuals, some of whom who get cranked up before the game and become another person when they step on the field.

I love the famous quote by Lawrence Taylor "Let's go out there and play like a bunch of crazed dogs".................defensive players especially can go off the deep end on the field. I should know, I played linebacker in high school and college, talk about getting cranked up, I was the crankiest for 8 years strait.

Throw in PED's, which take you to another level and there you go, not that I'd know anything about that.............:wink2:

Not excusing the way he plays the game; he's going to have to learn to dial it down a couple of notches or else he's going to continue to get fined/suspended.

I really love the Boston media; they love to build up our teams, but I really think they love to tear them down even more.

It's only Tuesday, but they are already predicting doom and gloom for Saturday as the mighty Chefs come to town; by Friday, they'll be the 1966 and 1969 Chiefs all rolled into one.

Tell you what; if they are going to lose, I'd prefer they lose to the Chefs than have to travel to Denver and lose to Frankenforehead and Denver, where the refs will come onto the field with one hand on their flags, ready to throw them at a moments notice.

George...the media will write about anything to get the fans worked up and stay interested...it's their job...let it go in one ear and out the other...NE is a shoe-in...they are the cream of the crop...they are gonna be fine...KC can make it interesting...but Brady will carry the day for you against them......

Mike,
We have a lot of media members here who hate Belichick; one word answers, never says anything juicy or controversial, not a quote machine like Rex Ryan, "Hey coach, how come you won the toss and kicked to the Jets, what were you thinking there?"............"We're on to Miami"................

Some of them would love to see them fail to they can say "I told you so".....................whatever...................

Mike,

The Giants never ever sign free agents with criminal pasts or disciplinary issues. Odell Beckham, Jr. is a total punk, but the Giants did not know that when they drafted him, had had no history of personal fouls in his college career. The Cowboys under Jerry Jones have a long history of signing free agents with nasty pasts. The Mara and Tisch families do not. Indeed, one of the reasons cited as the straw that broke the camel's back with regard to Coach Coughlin was his failure to bench or otherwise reign in OBJ during the Panthers game. Unlike Jerry Jones who took the side of his free agent convicted-domestic-abuser defensive line man against his own head coach.

The Bengals did the same thing in signing Berfect. He was a known head case in college, which is why he went undrafted. After the draft, they signed him as a free agent with full knowledge of his history.

Did I say one word about Cowboys fans in my post? I spoke about the owner. An owner who has been known to sign anyone he thinks can help his team win, regardless of his history on or off the field. I make no bones about the act that as a Giants fan I hate every other team in the NFC East, but the Cowboys aren't on the top of my list, the Eagles are.
