NFL 2015 Season (1 Viewer)

Arizona's defense lets up two count em two Hail Mary completions to force overtime, and Larry Fitzgerald, with Carson Palmer doing his best Eli Manning impersonation a la the David Tyree Helmet play, wins the game in Oscar Tango! Now that is unbelievable!!

2 games...177 total passes with 1155 total passing yards...87 total rushes with 348 rushing yards = pinball football at it's best/worst, depending on your preference. I don't care for it. Would like a teensy bit more balance to the running game. Arizona and New England virtually ignored the running game, but both won. Go figure. -- Al

Oh well, Packers lose, what a great game, what a comeback, Rodgers is just incredible.

And the OT rules blow, Green Bay should still get one shot to tie it.

Too bad for Green Bay, they had that 2007/2011 New York Giants lucky horseshoe up their ***** mojo going too; if they had won this game, no doubt it would have been on to the Super Bowl for sure.

Home team looked shaky tonite, but a win is a win, let's go Cards!!!!!...Sammy

I am happy for George's Patriots and Sammy's Cardinals.

The Cards/Packers game was incredible, Rogers did everything he could (for someone who went to Cal he is ok).

I don't think it matters who New England plays, they are in the Super Bowl. The NFC is a different story. Any of the 3 remaining teams could go.

Now for today's games: If the Steelers were healthy, it would still be hard to pick them going into Mile high, as even though Peyton Manning is a shell of himself, the Broncos have an amazing home field advantage, and beat a much better Steelers team there with that joke Tim Tebow at the helm. With half the team on IR, and Big Ben playing through torn ligaments in his throwing shoulder, unless Manning is equally limited (which he might be) and Denver turns the ball over at least 3 times, the Broncos should win.

The Seahawks had been playing very well until they laid an egg against the Vikings last week, and should have lost. The Panthers have been playing well all year. The Seahawks have been in the last two Super Bowls, but had home field in every playoff game both years. This is pretty much Cam Newton's first rodeo. If the Seahawks had looked good last week in the cold they would have been an easy pick, but they didn't. Against my better judgment, I am going to take the Panthers at home.

It's maddening to see the Pats run the same short pass play over and over again. You would think NFL coaches would put all eleven defenders within ten yards of the line and make Brady beat them long. Instead they play it safe and give up the short pass over and over until the Pats score. They can't get any pressure on Brady when the ball is out of his hands within about three seconds. The D gets tired and frustrated and then it's game over.

All,

HOW IN DE HELL does the ref "flip" the coin toss (for OT Cards-Pacs) and it does not even turn once? I mean that is like un heard of. What did he do. I am calling foul there man. That was just waaaaaay to obviously weird. I am so glad the players called that one on the spot cause, but it should have never happened in the first freaking place.

Suspect man, suspect...

I agree with that the OT rules blow big phat...you get the idea. There should be no "GOLDEN GOAL"...*** this is not soccer man. Play until the clock runs out...plain and simple. That had BS written all over it. You score and then its over and the other team does not get a chance for possession? Thats how they got to overtime in the First place!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not digging it.

I can't argue with the success that teams have had with the 2 yard dink and doink passing games, but I sure don't enjoy watching it. The passing game is where the NFL perceives all the excitement to be, so rules are made to weaken pass defenses, strengthen pass offenses, thus relegating balance to the dustbin of history. I just miss the old NFL when the term 'football' actually meant something besides pass the ball till your arm falls off. -- Al

As much as I hate not having my Ravens in the playoffs this year it has been an exciting few weeks of NFL playoffs (mostly) the Vikings chip shot missed field goal was a shocker (sorry Julie, Pete) the Cinncy debacle was just down right unbelievable,(congrats Tom) and last nite's game was about as good as it gets (hurrayy!! for my home team) looking forward to some good games today as well...Sammy

The Pats may be the only team in history that can throw 50 times and never get a hand laid on the QB. That quick passing game is a killer when the D sits back and gives up the short pass. And why have a LB trying to cover guys who constantly outrun him? I don't blame the Pats but can't understand why the opposing coaches don't make an adjustment. Rush three since they are not getting any pressure.

For the Steelers to have a shot today, they need to copy Patriots with short quick passes and the d needs many turnovers. If not, the party is over, too much injury, too good of an opposing defense and no home field advantage. The sky is falling in the Burgh.

Certainly anyone who wins the Heisman trophy and a national championship in college and then falls short of the NFL standard, while conducting himself in an honorable manner and making an extraordinary effort to improve himself, that person is certainly a "joke" in my book, as well, absolutely. In fact anyone who fails to reach the highest levels of success, in any endeavor, no matter the effort, must be similarly rated as a joke and/or loser.

If they used a silver dollar instead of a manhole cover, these things wouldn't happen................

Blount, their feature back, is on IR; Lewis, his replacement is on IR. They have 241 year old Steven Jackson back there, ie, no running game, so the short passing game in effect is their running game. They have one standard receiver in LaFell, a beast of a tight end and two waterbuglike, shifty slot receivers in Amendola and Edelman, so those two move the sticks for them in place of a running back.

Plus, Brady cannot throw a deep ball, never has been able to, so the short passing game is their main weapon.

Brady did not get sacked once yesterday, so I'll take the short passing game; do that with an up tempo, no huddle offense and like you said, the defense is gassed; those first and second touchdown drives were a thing of beauty.

Gronkowski looked like a different player yesterday, kept getting seperation and had a nice burst after the catch several times.

Cannot wait for the AFCCG; if it's at home, I'm 75% sure I'll be going...................if it's in Denver, it will be the usual 20+ person group we have who watch all the games together, we have a ball either way, the comedy flying around really breaks the tension.....................

I was not making a judgment on Tim Tebow's overall merit as a human being, I was commenting on the fact that in the NFL as a starting quarterback drafted with a high first round pick he was a joke.

You left a lot to be inferred, then, as you did not make that distinction.

High draft picks often dont pan out. The reasons why are varied but one cannot say Tebow fell short in terms of effort or focus. Rather he just didnt have the physical skill set required in the NFL. Which sounds like a failure of scouting to me.

A joke would be Johnny Manziel who has behaved like a clown since just about day one in the NFL. That is said regardless of whether he ends up making it.

Yeah, his NFL career is a strange one wasn't it? I mean the dude is obviously a stand up guy and spends a lot of time reaching out to the community here in the US and the Philippines on missionary trips and the what not. He had an impressive career in Florida and an enormous amount of expectation was thrown his way when he was picked up so high in the draft.

With the exception of the exciting comeback in the Dolphins game in 2011 he got caught up in some sort of NFL political drama that got him traded and eventually bounced out of the league. Honestly, I think John Elway just did not like the dude and I also think that ALOT of people did not like him in the NFL because he was just TOO squeky clean.

I think he became a victim of "haters" and he just "turned the other cheek". I also think this is one of those situations where this "nice guy" did finish last and had all the talent, skill and potential to be a legendary QB who could have changed the game. But, we will never know as he was never given the chance. Or he did not fight for the chance. Who knows?

I guess he is...Tebow the Omnipotent.

Johnny, Johnny, Johnny...if he would have had just a little patience he would be graduating school this year and talking to Jerry Jones about playing for the Dallas Cowboys. But noooooooooo, he took the flash and cash of camera's and money and spends his down time in rich kid rehab talking about "I'm Johnny Football, they ain't gonna do nothing to me".

Well, the owners and veterans get tired of baby sitting a guy like him and paying him at the same time. Meanwhile, there is another kid out there who is up and coming, humble, ready to play AND ready to take his place. So, Johnny better get his act together quick or he will be playing third fiddle in the CFL.
