NFL Season 2016-17 (2 Viewers)

The NFL has a problem on it's hands and it's called Monday and Thursday night football. They have to guess and hope that the match-ups, scheduled so far in advance, actually turn out to be entertaining contests. There have been far more misses than hits for many years now. I haven't watched a Monday or Thursday night game in years unless the Redskins or Ravens are playing, with the possible exception of the rare marquee contest, which as mentioned, don't occur very often. The NFL should dump Thursday night altogether and put more effort into Monday night, or maybe just dump that as well. -- Al

Sunday night is their marquee game now.

I'm no Dallas fan, but you don't fix what ain't broke. Cowboys should ride the hot hand. If and when he cools off, then go back to Romo. You will then have a full blown Qb controversy, just like the Redskins did with Sonny vs Billy. But what the heck, what's a little controversy among friends?:wink2: -- Al

Agreed; in 2001 after Mo Lewis nearly killed Drew Bledsoe, Belichick stuck Brady in there and he got on a roll, when Bledsoe was ready to come back, Belichick rode the hot hand and stuck with him all the way to a Super Bowl win, then the next year they shipped Bledsoe out of town and the rest as they say is history.

The whole "The starter shouldn't lose his job to injury" mantra and all, but again, ride the hot hand until he cools off, then deal with it.

If they put Romo in there and sucks, Cowboy fans will burn death star nine to the ground and skin Jerray alive..................

They interviewed Bledsoe about it and was interesting to hear him say the same things. Seemed like he had no hard feelings, or at least could act like it.

Drew was a professional about the whole thing, he took it in stride and did not whine and moan and make it about him, major kudos to him for that.

Plus in the AFCCG, Brady suffered a twisted ankle and had to leave the game and in came Bledsoe off the bench and he threw a spectacular TD on a corner route to David Patten, it was one of the sweetest passes Bledsoe every threw. They ran the same play in the Super Bowl for another TD.

Leading up to the Super Bowl, people were mixed as to whether they wanted a banged up Brady to play or Bledsoe; Belichick went with Brady and they won the game.

When it was tied at 17, the Rams kicked off and in the sideline huddle prior to the last series, the coaches told Brady to run the ball and not take any chances, ie, play for OT. Bledsoe chimed in with "What? @#$% that, go out there and chuck it!!".................just classic...............and they did chuck it and they won the game.

Bledsoe saved this franchise as the #1 draft pick the year Parcells was hired; without Bledsoe and Parcells, this team would not be where they are today.

Can someone please explain to me how that piece of human garbage Burfict does not get suspended for stomping on Blount’s leg in the Patriots Bengals' game last week? The guy is a repeat offender and is exactly what the league claims to be cleaning up. I am no fan of Blount but that was egregious especially when Burfict was just coming back from a suspension for dirty play.

Welcome to the NFL BS. It is awful, I said it after the Steeler playoff game last year, this guy has no place in football. (Or the entire organization for that matter for condoning the behavior).

I guessed you missed the other play where he dove at Bennett's left knee and almost ended his season.

So that's a repeat offense from a repeat offender.

In the same game.

What a dirtbag; it's one thing to be a headhunter, it's another thing to deliberately try to injure.

This guy has a rap sheet a mile long, other players should be speaking out about his non-suspension too.

Apparently he is not fazed by the monetary penalties. He has been fined a total of $805 K in 53 total games. Just stop fining the PoS and suspend or ban him. No excuse for the way he plays. -- Al

And who makes the NFL TV schedule? Packers and Bears tonight? That was a great game about 20 years ago.

Here's a statement you haven't heard in a long time: the Giants defense pressures an opposing QB, has 4 interceptions, and wins a game!{eek3}

After being subjected to that broken toilet of a game, I wouldn't be surprised if England sent troops to the US for the third time.

Peter...

you just got screwed...

Mills absolutely mugged Diggs on that pass...

fingers inside his face mask...

arms wrapped around his neck and arms...

took Diggs to the ground...

ball wasn't even near them yet...

unbelievable...

I will never understand what is pass interference...

announcer called it textbook interference...

ref picked up the flag against Philly...

no penalty...

unreal...

that is one sloppy 1st quarter...5 turnovers already...

I watched wall of 10 minutes of the Giants game. I just don't like football at that hour of the morning.

Patriots beat the Roethlisbergerless Steelers today 27-16, Pittsburg hung in there for awhile, but the Patriots won it going away in the second half. Brilliant offensive game plan today; in the first half, Gronk and Bennett were blockers and decoys, which opened up the running game and the underneath stuff. In the second half, they took the wraps off of Gronk and he had one TD down the seam and another long completion across the middle that set up another TD.

Tough game next week in Buffalo; if they can win that one, they'll be 7-1 going to the bye and to the halfway point of the season.

Not bad, I'll take it.........................

Here is what I learned from watching a few NFL games today:

The Patriots are really good, the Browns are terrible and when your team runs a pick play it is called a rub, when the other team runs a pick play it is called a penalty.

What I learned today is my Ravens are just bad...simply put, got to face it,last year's team was dealt a bad hand on the injury front but they fought hard, not so this season, they can't get out of their own way to attempt to win a game, be it penalties, bad coaching, no offense, no defense, you name it there are so many reasons why this team is 3-4, it sucks to face the hard truth when your team has been a regular for the most part in the playoffs or fighting for the division, but not happening in 2016, I don't care the standings show 1 game out, that's because the Steelers/Bengals are playing bad as well just not as bad as the Ravens, let's see....got to play the Eagles, Cowboys, Steelers, Bengals (twice) oh yea, the Patriots!!! hmmm...well we do have a barn burner on a Thursday night game against the Browns who almost beat us earlier!! if the final record is more then 5 wins I'll be shocked...Sammy

Sammy:

Do you think that Harbaugh's days are numbered?
