NFL Season 2016-17 (3 Viewers)

The Ravens seemed to play decently in the first half but not in the second. Why Morningwheg is the OC is beyond me. I also wondered if Harbaugh's days are numbered.

Meanwhile on Sunday night football, the Diamondbacks just singled and scored three runs to take the lead over the Mariners 6-3.

Oh wait..............

It's one of the more amazing games I've seen this year. Defense was dominant. Both teams had the game won in OT but they couldn't make the FG to win it. Seattle made a heck of a goal line stand and should have won the game but then when they got the ball back and drove down the field their kicker hit it wide left.

Sammy:

Do you think that Harbaugh's days are numbered?

-Jason

I think Harbaugh is safe, he has a solid relationship with Biscotti (owner) but I also know Biscotti has been very successful in most all of his ventures be it sports/business etc. and he hates to lose, that being said if the Ravens finish will a terrible record (which I think they will) there will be some tough calls for a rebuild of this team, to many older vets with high salaries, as well as the 2nd most dead money in the NFL on the books going into 2017...Sammy

Well.........................Steelers had a shot on a superb Patriot team that was not playing well. I think the Steelers outplayed themselves with the talent they were able to put on the field, but for me, the turning point was not capitalizing on the first drive on turnover with the INT in the end zone. That is the difference between Landry and Ben. End of day, the better team won the game, I am happy they kept it a game at most points.

George - you gotta a great team again this year!

I had a tough time rooting against Landry Jones, former OU QB. The offense is still loaded with Bell and Brown, too many missed opportunities, two fumbles recovered inside the 50 and zero points, that's a killer.

I just hope Ben doesn't rush himself back and cause a problem, they're saying now 6 weeks, then later they said 2-3 weeks, so we'll see. He said if it was a playoff game, he'd play.

Good luck the rest of the way out, the division looks winnable for the Steelers.

Tom...that was a good effort...it was unfortunate for Pittsburg to catch NE without Ben...but Jones looked capable to even impressive at times...Bell was certainly fun to watch...he makes something out of nothing...I was surprised he ended up with only 81 yards rushing as it seemed he ran at will and would have 300 rushing before the game ended...adding his 68 yards receiving made him a handful for NE...when will Ben be back?

What I learned today is my Ravens are just bad...simply put, got to face it,last year's team was dealt a bad hand on the injury front but they fought hard, not so this season, they can't get out of their own way to attempt to win a game, be it penalties, bad coaching, no offense, no defense, you name it there are so many reasons why this team is 3-4, it sucks to face the hard truth when your team has been a regular for the most part in the playoffs or fighting for the division, but not happening in 2016, I don't care the standings show 1 game out, that's because the Steelers/Bengals are playing bad as well just not as bad as the Ravens, let's see....got to play the Eagles, Cowboys, Steelers, Bengals (twice) oh yea, the Patriots!!! hmmm...well we do have a barn burner on a Thursday night game against the Browns who almost beat us earlier!! if the final record is more then 5 wins I'll be shocked...Sammy

Your Ravens are 26-29 since their Super Bowl win vs the 49ers, when they got on one of those three game runs and they milked it to a Super Bowl win.

Newsome has not drafted well in recent years, he was all world with his Lewis, Reed, Ngata and Suggs picks, your talking pro bowlers and two HOF locks, maybe three.

It's all about drafting and making the right personnel decisions; you were between a rock and a hard place once they won a Super Bowl, you had to sign the QB at that point and it's looking like a horrible signing, stuck with him till he's 34.

Harbaugh isn't going anywhere, nor should he; as the saying goes, you can't make chicken salad out of chicken ****.............................if he gets fired, BB should grab him and stick him on his staff until he's ready to retire, then Harbaugh can take over, I'd have him as my coach in 2 seconds, as would 30 other teams (Ravens and Steelers excluded)...........................

The Steelers have only had 3 coaches in the last 47 years. At that rate Tomlin has about 6 more years.

Tomlin makes some dumb decisions to say the least; idiotic is more like it. He wasted a challenge on a Gronkowski catch that was clearly 1000% a catch, yet he challenged it anyway and lost a time out he could have used later on. Then he didn't go for it on four and 2 and his kicker missed a long field goal, this after he had missed a chip shot earlier in the game.

Dumb, dumb, dumb......................

The Patriots defensive plan was to let Landry Jones beat you with long drives, no long passes, they gave him all the underneath stuff, no over the top stuff.

If Roethlisberger played, the defensive plan would have been totally different.

I don't disagree, he is brilliant at times, idiotic is a good word at others. I read online speculation he challenged it knowing he was going to lose, but trying to break seemingly unstoppable momentum the Pats had at the time.................................................that didn't work out so well!~

BB is still the best coach I know of in that he coaches every game with the thought of getting the best out of the 11 on the field at the time. He won 3 of 4 without Brady and arguably could have been 4 and 0. That is a difference maker. Tomlin coached not to lose with Landry, I don't like that, I would rather go out swinging with the best plan I can put in place with what I have.

Now, Harbaugh is a good coach, he has had a few questionable decisions this year. BUT, mainly I believe the issue is the lack of consistency of position coaches and coordinators. How many have been there over the last 5-7 years? A lot and that is tough in my opinion.

Ben is throwing this week, so it will be interesting to see if he plays against the Ravens. I think it depends on how Jones looks as well as Ben's readiness. I would love to get a win against the ravens without him playing, but it is a big game division wise and I think if we can beat the Ravens in this game, it goes a long way toward winning the division.

Belichick has spoiled me in that when he goofs, it rolls right off my back. Like you said, to go 3-1 with a back up, or better yet, once the back up got hurt, he won a game with a rookie third string QB.

To think this guy by all rights should have been the coach of the Jets after Parcells stepped down; the problem was Parcells was staying on as a front office guy and Belichick didn't like that, he felt like he'd still be under Parcells thumb. What a gigantic goof as if the Jets had Belichick, guaranteed they'd have won probably two, maybe three Super Bowls.

Instead, they got "You play to win the game" Herm, then Fatso, now the statue on the sidelines Bowles, who I think is a good coach, but he's saddled with a bad roster that is going to be in salary cap Hell next year.

Williams from USC is a very good player, but why on earth would you draft him when you already have two oustanding defensive tackles, you can only play two of them at a time, just a dumb high first round draft pick, they should have traded down and addressed other needs with multiple picks.

And the Revis signing to stick it to the Patriots was just idiotic as he's clearly on the back nine.

Woody is chopping, but no chips are flying.

And lose that stupid hat too while you're at it.

Hoping some how, some way, the bye helps the Ravens with injuries, and a way to figure out how to win again would be nice, I'm sure if Ben is walking/throwing he will be starting in the Raven/Steeler game, just as Suggs said old vets like himself/Big ben aren't going to miss this game unless it's broken bones type of stuff, as well as being a battle for 1st place it's always a tough game, and I'm sure come Sunday after next it will be a ol Raven/Steeler slugfeast just as always, we don't like them, they don't like us, let the festivities begin!!!...Sammy

And then there is tonight's game, wait for it, wait for it.................

Jaguars vs. Titans

I think I will be watching Cal. vs. USC instead, it will probably feature some better football.

I'm glad you mentioned the SC game. I didn't have a clue they were playing tonight. 10:30 kickoff on the east coast makes for a late night.

London got to see the NFL at it's best today. Redskins and Bengals fought to a savage 27-27 draw. At least der Englanders are used to ties.{sm3} -- Al
