Nfl season 2017-2018 (2 Viewers)

NFL has another issue: the owner of the Texans said in an owners meeting that “we can’t have the inmates running the prison” in discussing the anthem issue. He’s apologized but the players were so mad they had to be talked out of walking out of practice.

Let me guess... All the NFL players will pull some type of stunt this weekend in support of their brethren in Houston??? If so, count me out of the NFL if it happens, if the player's rather play politics then football then I'll move along.

You're not alone; viewership it tanking this year, as is attendance at games.

Millionaires working for Billionaires; meanwhile, I'm about to bust my hump for two days doing a show this weekend and these morons just have no clue of what it's like to really work for a living.

Right there with you Sammy, I think I've just about had enough of all of this.

Time to move on.

Mike Francesa was discussing this issue on his show yesterday on WFAN and feels the NFL have a real problem on their hands, one of their most significant ones in years. He also noted that viewership is down by 15%.

As discussed, the anthem issue has elicited strong reactions. One of his regular guests, who is a broadcaster (can't remember his name) was in one of the NFL cities to do a game and during the cab ride, the cabbie asked him what he did for a living. When he said he was a NFL commentator, the cabbie pulled over and asked him to get out of his cab.

Now tell the truth George, you sit and eat danish pastry and chili dogs while your loyal and trusty assistants do 99% of the work. ^&grin

Getting pissed by the minute in this Steelers game. The referee just affected the outcome of the game IMO , I hope I am wrong, but with 5 mins to go , Steelers up by 5 and 3rd down, Big Ben was clearly hit WAY LATE, NO FLAG. That is just plain horsecrap.

that one made me sweat. We looked lethargic, pathetic and somehow won......driving me nuts. Back to the hit, Ben is a large guy, when he goes down like a ton of bricks after he throws, turns around, etc, you know it is a late hit and unnecessary. How does the official miss that? Irritating.

These players don’t seem to get it. Who wants to watch the Houston players kneeling. I understand they’re not happy but the field is not where the point should be made. Moreover, the point has been made so they need to move on.

They can’t seem to see the forest from the trees.

Tom:

I loved Bryant's reaction to the pass interference call in the end-zone that nullified his touchdown in the 3rd quarter. That response was priceless.

Love him or hate him the guy makes everything entertaining.

With Garoppolo going to the 49er's, I guess the rumors that Cousins was headed that way are DOA. Also means that the Patriots are going to have to gold-plate Brady's wheelchair, because who needs a backup Qb just because your starter is 40 years old and will last forever? -- Al

Jason, you mean Brown! But yes, but you bring up another irritating part of that game - inconsistency in calls in the secondary. Let's be honest, receivers were mugged all game long, of course I felt more on the Steelers side, but I am sure there is an unbiased opinion it was both ways. SO, OK, but then on a TD pass, you call it and a score there would have iced the game?????? I swear the officials in the NFL use Madden Catch up rules. I just don't understand how it can be that inconsistent. It is maddening and ruins part of the game for me. Along with all of the other BS going on this year, the officiating is the icing on the cake. I think it is really really bad and hurts all teams. I feel like I am watching Scripted WWE Wrestling pay per views on Sundays.

Tom:

Yes, I meant Brown and I couldn't agree more about the refs using Madden Catch up rules. To be honest that type of officiating really only works in hockey.

That game was a prime example of what can happen when there is no consistency in the calls. Luckily it didn't cost the Steelers a win.

Al:

As a Niner fan it is difficult to get too excited about this trade. No matter what the circumstances, I can't help but feel that Belichick always knows more than his opponent, that goes for games and trades.

The way the moron fans around here are talking, you'd think Brady was the one being shipped out of town.

Brady is still playing at an elite level, he's shown zero, as in no, drop of in play this year after hitting 40.

The way he takes care of himself, it's not out of the question that he plays until he's 43 or 44.

So, what to do with the back up?

His contract is up after this year, his agent told the Patriots he's not signing another contract to hold a clip board for the next three years, so see you later.

Get a very good pick for him, one that Belichick values, basically top of the first round.

And if Brady goes down this year, Garoppolo is not leading them to the Super Bowl, it's a no brainer.

They are sitting at 6-2 with big away games vs Buffalo and the Steelers looming. If they finish 14-2, they get the #1 seed; 12-4, probably the #3 seed, meaning playoff road games at KC, then at Pittsburg.

Even with a healthy Brady, that's a tall order................

This year has one of the deepest QB draft classes in years. Most teams can find a back-up with a second round pick (except for Cleveland who can't seem to find one with a top 5 pick year in and year out). Belichick will probably find the next Brady with theirs.

I read a story that the Browns and Bengals worked a deal where the Bengals sent their back up QB to the Browns; the front office stooges in Cleveland were high fiving each other for so long, they forgot to call the league prior to the deadline, so the trade did not go through.

What a broken toilet of a franchise.

Bills and Jets tonight. With no baseball or college football on TV I might have to try and watch it.

As a Jets fan, it will probably be bad but not too many other options!
