Ravens/Steelers threw the ball 101 times between them. I hate the modern NFL and this pass-happy crap. -- Al

Well, what another barn burner, I thought for sure our goose was cooked, but what a game, Steelers seem to do what they need to do WHEN they need to do it, it is becoming maddening as a fan. Just amazing, the Ravens did everything but win it. Weird ending with the clock, I don't think that Flacco knew that if you fumble the ball, it is at the spot and they only stop the clock to set the ball, it's like it never went out of bounds b/c no Steeler touched it. With only 8 secs or less, not sure it would have mattered, but the Ravens cost themselves a play.

ANyhow, Sammy, it was exciting!

Garoppolo looked good again today. I am trying to hold off on getting too excited as the Texans defense is absolutely decimated, but it was a good showing nonetheless. I am waiting to see what he does against the Jags on 12/24.

Speaking of the Jags, I need to eat a little crow. Two weeks ago I ran my mouth about how Bortles was the Jaguars' biggest weakness. In the last two weeks he has thrown for close to 600 hundred yards with 4 TD's and no interceptions. I was wrong about him.

Good game Tom, I wasn't expecting a shootout but when these 2 teams seem to play with a lot on the line it's always a tough game, maybe round 3 later in the playoffs??

1.) Steelers fall behind to team A
2.) Steelers mount a furious rally led by Frankenstein in the pocket vs team A
3.) Steelers complete a long pass to Brown after team A plays man to man with no safety help over the top
4.) Steelers kick a last second field goal to win it thanks to a kicker with worst looking get up in the league

Rinse, lather, repeat.

Watching the Steelers week after week hoping they lose proves one thing; Einstein was right.

Someone may have been right but it wasn’t Einstein; that quote has been attributed to him but more than likely he didn’t say it. The person who probably coined it was writer Rita Mae Brown.

Did surprise me they didn't constantly double team AB. That said, James racked up 100 yards to as a tight end. Defense has to figure out post Shazier b/c I don't want to be in a shoot out with the Pats. I don't think we win that way. George, you now can't blame the Steelers if the Ravens win out and are in, we did our part!!!

Seriously, on the Ravens, they do have a fairly easy road to the playoffs, if they can put up 30 points in each of the next 3 games, they are in b/c I don't see the 3 opponents doing that.

Tough break for the Eagles losing their QB for the season when they are on a roll. That is another cursed franchise. Looked like a pretty full crowd in LA. I can't imagine why anyone would want to go to a football game in 70 degree sunshine on a perfect day in December.

"Did surprise me they didn't constantly double team AB"...................beyond stupid is more like it. How can you NOT double team the ONE @#$%ing guy on that team who can beat you? Bryant is hot garbage, Brown is the go to guy and they leave him one on one with a corner down the sideline, no help over the top with a safety, just infuriating.

"Defense has to figure out post Shazier b/c I don't want to be in a shoot out with the Pats. I don't think we win that way".................No, you are not winning a shoot out. You just gave up 38 points to the Ravens, the Patriots are going to run the ball to the edge, the Steelers have no outside speed, they are also going to work the middle of the field to exploit the lack of speed in your linebacker corps.

"George, you now can't blame the Steelers if the Ravens win out and are in, we did our part!!!".............yeah, I'm not worried about the Ravens.

George,
one pretty big positive was putting up 500 plus yards on I believe one of the top defenses in all categories, we proved we can score a ton, but need to figure out the defense issue, losing Shazier is just huge.

Losing Jimmy Smith for the Ravens was just as bad, if there is one player that has played A. Brown tough year in and year out it's J. Smith...how unlucky can this Raven team be in the last 2 years Smith has gotten injured before the Steeler game in Pitt, did it cost the Ravens both games the last 2 years?? no, the scoreboard says we lost so it is written.

Injury or not, he also violated the substance policy so he was gone either way. Not picking on him or singling him out but I am amazed at the suspensions for drugs, it is mind boggling, I mean they know they are getting tested. Of course we have Bryant who for 2 years couldn't stop smoking weed for a few months, so go figure. I always worry about Bell, I hope his smoking habits have died off.

Shocker of the week, I had forgotten about the NFL since Sunday night :mad: but then took a look to see the pats lose to the fins??{eek3}{eek3} in some ways that helps my Ravens as the Pats will have to play the Bills (Who the Ravens are in a WC fight with) at full steam instead of resting players if they had locked up HFA, but since the Pats still have the Steelers and Bills to play it's going to go down to the last week of the season for HFA I believe.

Brady looked almost mortal last night. Although Cutler looked good, they were flat in the 4th Quarter and the Pats could have won the game.

Perhaps it was your typical trap game or he had an off game. He is human after all.

Brady got rushed and hit a lot, that helped tremendously. If you make him uncomfortable, he is human! The same can be said of Ben or any QB really. If they get out of rhythm and zero comfort in the pocket, it can shape up to be long games!
Tom

This really sets up one of the headline games of the week next Sunday - Pats at Pitts. I hope it will be televised in my area, Delaware.

I am staying out of this one as I consider George and Tom friends.

The only thing I will say is that in my mind the Patriots' loss last night actually hurts the Steelers' chances of winning this week as the Patriots rarely lose two games in a row.

Panic in the streets today; look out below, the sky is falling...................

Brady is showing his age
Brady has lost it
This team has too many injuries
Gronk being out hurt them
Five road games in six weeks caught up to them

We'll see what team shows up on Sunday in Pittsburg..........................

George...
it's the end of the world as we know it...{eek3}
Armageddon...
frogs falling from the sky...
the Apocalypse...
pestilence and famine...

but I think Brady will be just fine...
I don't think he got that old in 7 days...
everybody has a bad game once in a while...
should be a good game next week...
