Nfl season 2017-2018 (4 Viewers)

The strangest look was two missed PAT and so many futile attempts at 2 point PATs.

Terry

Good point. That was odd. That's a whole 'nother discussion I have about football that I'll save for another day {sm4}

But yeah, the 2 point conversions are a by product of the missed XP's. Coaches have a sheet they use that tells them if they are down/up by "x" points to go for 2 or kick a PAT. I think it's a zero sum game that usually leaves teams playing catchup in one form or the other.

Well needless to say, I'm totally and utterly disgusted.

The defense was pathetic yesterday, a total no show, they reverted back to their form of the first four games where they couldn't get off the ****ing field on third down.

Dare I say it, Belichick got outcoached.

Give the Iggles coach credit, he played to win, not to lose, going for it on fourth down on the one yard line, runs that ****ing Harry high school trick play and it worked, good for him, same with going for it on fourth and one on his own 40 yard line. He knew his defense was not going to stop Brady, so he went for it. If the Patriots make a play there, the game is over, but nope, no one could make a play, so the drive kept going.

The Iggles offensive and defensive lines won the game, Brady was sacked once and naturally, it's a strip sack, but he was pressured and hurried for most of the game but man oh man, how do you throw for 500 yards and lose, it's embarrassing.

Brady is a God; 40 years old and he torched that Iggles defense, that loss is not on him, that's for sure, he played his *** off, the defense let him down.

Nick tomato can Foles put 41 points up on the Patriots; let that one sink in for a moment.

He had all day to throw, was pressured a few times, but no sacks.

Belichick benched one of our starting corner backs, no reason given as to why; just a complete and utter ******* move, Kraft must be furious as that boneheaded, idiotic move cost them the Super Bowl.

The refs did a good job for the most part, a lot of holding on both sides that did not get called, one on Harrison was pathetic, he beat his man and the guy turned around and grabbed his jersey right in front of the ref, no call. And that TD was not a TD, he bobbled the ball with one foot on the white line, but whatever, it was a perfect pass by Nick Namath/Unitas/Starr/Montana.

And on the Harry High school trick play on the goal line, the Iggles had only 6 men on the LOS, illegal formation, five yard penalty, fourth down.

Unbelievable that they lost to a back up QB.

So much for all the nonsense I heard all week about how the Patriots are all business, they've been there before, the Iggles are just happy to be there, they got thoroughly outcoached.

Sickening to blow a game like that.

Just sickening.

Who knows, that may be it for the Patriots. Brady could fall off a cliff next year, Belichick could retire and that's that.

Now instead of being tied for the most SB wins, they're tied for the most losses.

In a nutshell, yesterday sucked for me.

Ok Iggles fans, go back to burning your city to the ground.

Adios 2017 football thread; peace, out...................................................oh and Jason; thanks so much for having my back, I appreciate the support, they should have won the game in a blow out except the defense did not get off the team bus. Just a bunch of JAGS out there, specifically the secondary, when you've got special teams players like Richards, Rowe and that other stiff playing, you're toast....................good job Belichick, you really showed Butler who's boss.

You idiot.

Brad...I don't mind a little celebrating...or even a lot of celebrating...and to their credit...I heard no reports of smashed windows and saw no pictures of people walking down the street with 60" televisions on their shoulders...all in all...it seemed pretty civil to some I have seen...can't blame the fans for getting excited...it's those one or two clowns in the crowd that can throw a harmless celebration into a tizzy...

I don't mind a little celebration, either. I mind the perception people get based on the media and the Internet. A few posts on the Web showing someone starting a fire, and all of a sudden, people think Philly is going up in smoke.

It goes beyond this specific topic of celebrating a sports win. Take the stories about the flu season. If you only get your info from the media, you'd think we're in 1918. But if you go to the CDC's own website and look at the numbers they publish, and read their statements before reporters get to them, you'd learn that the CDC doesn't think this season is that bad, that it's been milder so far than the past few seasons.

My point ultimately is that we must be very careful about what we hear and see in the media and in the Internet, before forming our opinion.

Brad...
that is what sensationalism is all about...
poor journalistic efforts...
the reporters beat the bushes as hard as they can to make a story intriguing...interesting and "news worthy"...
they have no job if they don't...
in most cases they dramatize it so exuberantly...
that it is an overly distorted actualization of what really happened...
tv ratings...that's their job...
Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry" on steroids...
tv...like the Internet...take it with a grain of salt...
or as the old timers say...
"believe half of what you see...and none of what you hear."

George...
even though they lost...
and you find you're disgusted...
and say it was sickening to you...
you have no idea how us losers wish we had the success that NE has had...
you need to walk in our shoes to understand how we feel...
I wish the Cowboys had made the playoffs...
I wish they had won their division...
I wish they had won the NFC...
I wish...
it goes on and on...
I wish Dallas had gotten to the Superbowl...
even if they lost in a lopsided game...
you have no idea how good you have had it the last decade...

I am now reading explanations about why that wasn’t an illegal formation. Supposedly Alston Jeffrey checked in with the red and got the nod. They are basically sayin it was red discretion and once approved by the nod, it became a legal formation. Strange explanation to me but who knows

When you’re a fan like George — a deeply committed fan — losing a game like that, especially when it’s in your grasp, can be tough, a night of tossing and turning. Sometimes it’s better to lose in the conference championship game than the SB. It’s a little easier to take.

Here is one version of why it was not illegal. The Ref approved the receiver's position as being on the line of scrimmage even though he was a bit further back than the other 6 linemen. The line of scrimmage is not a precise line. Done by design as a trick play.

"Football Season is Over" as Hunter Thompson wrote just before blowing his brains out. Now we can look forward to the overhyped Winter Olympics. I hope they put together plenty of human interest stories about how some athletes have overcome adversity to get there!

Won't watch a minute of the Olympics, haven't in ages. Thank goodness Spring Training opens in a week and a half. Play ball! -- Al

After that game, they can have him 😉

I don't know Zach...
he was a superstar for 6 years...
you think he suddenly got bad...

wonder how Belichick feels about starting from scratch with a new defensive coordinator...
wonder if any as good as Patricia are even available?

I consider him leaving as pretty substantial...
