I know, I was just kidding. Given the option I’ll keep him. Rumor is the o coordinator, mcdaniels, will be gone too
Won't watch a minute of the Olympics, haven't in ages. Thank goodness Spring Training opens in a week and a half. Play ball! -- Al
Joe, thanks for the heads up. I'll have to check to see if the game will be televised. Rambo is a huge gap to fill. I have to temper my Terp watching to a certain degree as the football and basketball programs give me headaches. :wink2: -- AlThat's OK Al, College Lacrosse is already up and running. Maryland hosts Navy on Sat. Feb 10. Great to see the Terps win it all last year. No one has to hear "When will the Terps end their title drought?" any more. They're rated #2 coming into the season, but they'll have to earn that after graduating some big sticks. For one you don't replace a Matt Rambo. The last of the Bernhardts, Jared, soph. will have to take up some slack on the attack. Connor Kelly, and Tim Rotanz need to step up on Midfield. We'll see what happens from there. Enjoy the season. Maybe they just didn't have the players this year.
No, they do not, extremely unathletic front 7; no Hightower was a real blow for this defense. Their secondary was the lone bright spot on the defense, but they got shredded last night; when the QB has all day to throw due to no pressure, that will happen.
They haven't stopped a wheel route since 1974.
Teams that run that RPO Harry high school offense (Chefs, Panthers,Texans, Iggles) gave them fits this year. They need more athletic front 7 personnel and they need a new set of eyes on the defense, someone from a college background where they are used to defending that RPO; you know, the thing that Iggles ballwasher Collingsworth was mentioning every 12 seconds last night.
All I know is down 5 with 2:45 left in the game last night, the whole world knew Brady was going to drive down the field and win the game.
Just didn't happen, he's only one man.
And he's human too afterall.
The whole world did know it. Even down by 8 with the Pats receiving the kickoff with a half minute left, I figured Brady to drive and tie the game. That bone-headed reverse on the return made that all but impossible and Brady still got close enough to make Eagle Nation sweat. What a Qb. The NFL will never see anything like him again. -- AlNo, they do not, extremely unathletic front 7; no Hightower was a real blow for this defense. Aren't you pulling for San Fran next year???
Sammy:
Yes, I want the Niners to win it all next year (ok, every year, LOL) but I think they are a few players away from that.
In the meantime I will also pull for the other teams that members of this forum follow. I have an affinity for the Patriots as I have mentioned in the past. Plus, time may be running out for their current dynasty and it would be nice for George and other Pats fans here to see them win one more.

Thanks Jason; as I've mentioned in the past, this team owes me nothing and as Mike has pointed out, 5 titles in 16 years is mind boggling.
That said, for Brady to play out of his mind yesterday and come out on the short end is infuriating to me, he deserved more, he sure as **** earned it.
The defense was a giant tire fire yesterday, shredded by a back up QB who got hot at the right time running a RPO offense.
The mind reels.

George and I are in the same boat, I think time is running out on the Big Ben era which is why this year was so disappointing. I feel like we left something out there on the field. But like George, I have enjoyed in my life one helluva run in 2 different eras. Ben made it to 3, won 2 and arguably if not for Rashard Mendencrybaby's fumble, would have won 3 with an injured Ben, but was not to be. To George's point, the QB can win it , but not every time, the supporting cast needs to show up and we never figured out what to do without Shazier.
I gotta tell you, I am as shocked as anyone that the Eagles pulled it out. And even then a hail mary arguably was on the money and almost won it for them. He is a special competitor and other than 1 or 2 plays last night, he was flawless. I am truly shocked by the 2 inept defenses, just incredible. As to the calls, sometimes luck falls on the other side and the Eagles to their credit played to win, so they arguably made their own luck.

Of course, it is important to note that baseball players make more money in general than any other professional athlete while lacrosse players tend to see there future summed up in the following phrase "Would you like fries to go with that?" {sm4}{sm4}{sm4}
And no, this year the sputzbowl didn't come anywhere near the excitement and enjoyment of the MLB Playoffs (in particular the ALDS) nor the Series. Jose Altuve and, dare I say it, Aaron Judge were easily the two best sports stories of 2017. What the Astros did this year would be the equivalent of the Browns winning the 2021 super bowl.
