Nfl season 2017-2018 (2 Viewers)

Today the Dolphins signed Jay Cutler for one year, 10 million.

So he comes out of retirement and the broadcast booth to take 10 million from Miami.

Wow.

At least Jesse James wore a mask.

No one called me! {eek3} I would have "settled" for a cool million

After taxes, he rakes in about 7 million.

Who can blame the guy, I'm sure his broadcasting gig did not pay that much.

If he is good, he'll be hailed as a savior by the Doofins and their delusional fans; if he flames out, well what can you expect, he's not a miracle worker...............................

Gronkowski is a man among boys, really a shame that he is so injury prone, he's a beast. Imagine being a safety and having him catch a pass down the seam and you're the guy trying to tackle him, forget it.

Some day the NFL will find guys like Gronk and thank them for playing the game because it's players like him who have saved the last shreds of credibility the Goodell NFL has worked so hard to destroy. He is a throwback to my favorite times/memories of the game.

Congratulations to you for getting to enjoy that experience George!! :)

One all star game my kid played this summer we were against a team from Philly.. he went 2-4 with 2 HR and got wiffed twice....the second time he struck out the parents of the Philly kids started screaming and going nuts- about 150-200 people....he held his head high walked into the dugout got his stuff and went out to 3rd...I talked to him when he came in from the field to see if he was ok and looked at me and goes "That's how Brady does it dad" and went back to his team.

So clearly, beyond being a legendary football player, he has been a very positive role model for my son.

Six game suspension for Elliot. I am sure he will appeal, but either way the Cowboys will not be the same without him.

NFL Network is reporting Jones is livid; hey buddy, weren't you the guy who applauded the Brady suspension, the whole integrity of the game thing?

Yeah, I thought it was you; tough ****, karma is a ***** isn't it?

Four games for allegedly letting the air out of a football vs 6 games for domestic violence; sounds about right..............

I have read comments from Cowboys fans saying that this is a Patriot like vendetta by the NFL against them? I guess I just don't see domestic violence the same as letting the air out of a football.

The NFL is a hot mess and it will have a hard time surviving the head-trauma problem that continues to grow, as will football at lower levels. I expect lawsuits involving CTE will eventually become quite common. -- Al

What does the NFL have against the Cowboys, they've done nothing on the field that anyone has viewed as in violation of any rules?

The Patriots have Spygate, Deflatgate, headset gate, legalformation gate, winningfiveSuperBowlsandpissingoffalltheotherowners gate...........................

The owners dislike/jealousy of the Patriots is ridiculous and the best they could do was spygate. However winning a Super Bowl in the face of Brady's suspension pretty much wiped that one out. Even if the Cowboys win the Super Bowl with an Elliot suspension there is no way that could erase the shadow of domestic violence.

The owners were the ones who put the pressure on the ginger haired stooge to drop the hammer on the Patriots as they were sick of them winning.

Gee, that didn't work according to plan.......................................and whenever people ask me to rank the Super Bowl wins, the 2002 win is and always will be #1, last years is #1A, both will never, ever be topped.

Can you imagine what it'll do to his lifetime endorsement income? Kid's got a nice smile. Pepsi coulda hawked drink over that grin for years. Is it just me, or is it <somewhat> difficult to sympathize with a group of guys who seem so incapable of swallowing the bitter taste of success that cruel fortune has thrust upon them?

The problem with professional athletes is they've been coddled their whole lives; anytime they got into trouble whether it was high school or college, it got squashed as talent wins out over justice. Naturally there are instances where athletes got busted and paid the price, but for the vast majority of them, it's always been swept under the rug.

Regarding the NFL, their stance on domestic violence changed forever with Ray Rice; they tried to broom that under the rug, but once the video surfaced of that horrendous act, they dropped the hammer on him and they will continue to drop the hammer, so any of these idiots who smacks around a woman is going to pay the price as they always should have in the past................I have zero empathy for this idiot, he's dead to me now, cannot root for him after what he did, not to mention there are multiple incidents with him.

Just disgusting.

And Jones being "furious" is a bad look, another moron.........................he should get a toupee with some brains in it.

Why Tannehill did not have surgery at the end of the season last year is beyond me, pretty foolish.

The Dolphins were the only legit threat to the Patriots in the division, by legit I mean 10-6 if they are lucky, but if he's done, more like 6-10.

I went to Patriots camp with my best friends youngest son this week as my friend works during the week while I sell toy soldiers...........:wink2:.......and his weekends are pretty booked, his son loves the Patriots. I got him Brandon Cooks autograph.

Some observations;
Brady is a rock star, the place went bananas when he ran onto the field.
Gronkowski is a man among boys, really a shame that he is so injury prone, he's a beast. Imagine being a safety and having him catch a pass down the seam and you're the guy trying to tackle him, forget it.
Cooks is fast and I mean F-A-S-T
Their running backs are quite a group, Gillespee is fast too, the kid they got from the Bengals is something else, two terrific signings.
David Harris is a monster in the middle, I think he'll be the defensive captain this year, he'll wear the green dot.
The two rookie defensive ends they drafted are HUGE, fast too, Wise has some unique spin and swim moves.
Gillmore and Butler are two shut down corners, they both looked great.

This team is simply loaded; injuries are always the X factor, but I cannot envision a scenario where if they are healthy they are not back into the AFCCG for the 8th strait season. They have a tough schedule; the AFC West, the NFC South, they're going to have to earn their way in this year. The 19-0 talk is idiotic; I'm thinking 13-3, maybe 12-4, 14-2 would be ideal, but I think 13-3 or 12-4 will get them the #1 seed.

This has been going on since 2001, just unbelievable. If they manage to win another Super Bowl the next couple of seasons, IMO they are back to back the team of the decade for the 2001-2010 and 2011-2019; in the free agency era, that is quite an achievement.

My friends son is 16 years old; he's never seen a losing season. The worst record they've had during his short stay on the planet is 9-7. They've been in the playoffs 14 of the 16 years he's been alive. When I told him how bad they used to be, he just laughed.

Unreal.

If it all comes crashing down tomorrow, it still was one Hell of a ride, a sports fans dream.

George, a lot of what you posted above are the reasons that Big Ben wants to retire!! Obviously, all is on paper and injuries matter huge, but the Pats are loaded and they are just good. Last year, the Steelers looked a little like destiny until that AFC championship game and it was like night and day, the Pats were fully prepared and executed quite well. Honestly, the only time they looked unprepared all season was the first 2.5 qts of the Super Bowl! And they still won!!

I do think Goodell's days are numbered. He now has a true enemy in Kraft who is well respected by the other owners, the Rooney Family likes him very much and they still carry a big stick. Bischotti votes with the Rooneys as do a lot of the owners. I think Roger is going on borrowed time and if the ratings continue to flunk out, he will finally be done about 4 years too late. Again, all my opinion, speculation and I daresay Hope!!!!!!!

It would be weird if Ben retired, he's been in the league for 13 years, seems like just yesterday he was a rookie starting in the 2005 AFCCG in Pittsburg.

As long as the owners are making money, he's not going anywhere; when their wallets get impacted, then he's gone, it's as simple as that.
