The way the Rangers are playing this might not be a very long series; they're averaging 1.88 goals per game in the playoffs and Caps won the faceoffs 40-18 or something ridiculous like that.

That was a great game last night, playoff hockey at it's finest. Both goalies played out of their minds, Lundqvist specifically, he made some incredible saves.

Smoltzy was just being Smoltzy; I saw this movie back in 2012 and the ending sucked, so be prepared.

Calgary is a different team at home. They probably win one or two games in the series, but it has been a mismatch. I'm not a big fan of the Ducks. My interest in the west is quickly narrowing to which team I dislke more - the Ducks or Blackhawks. I'm pulling for Caps at this point ony because I see a lot of their players here in Hershey. And Ovi had earned a shot at the Cup. The guy is playing out of his mind. It's now or never for him.

Good call, Calgary was clearly a different team last night.

Smoltzy stands on his head again and the Caps win to take a 3-1 series advantage, they can wrap it up in MSG Friday night.

The Rangers can't put the puck in the ocean right now.

The Rangers seemed to be in a funk even against the Pens. Struggling to score more than one or two goals in that series. If you can't score against the Pens, then you are going to be in trouble against the better playoff teams. Not much evidence of their speed advantage as yet. Given that the Rangers traded away about the next three years of draft picks to make a run this year, they are in for a major collapse if they go down. And the Caps are mentally tough. They have a ton of confidence. But they also have a history of choking away 3-1 series leads. So I'm not counting my chickens just yet. Tampa put a major crusher on Montreal with that game winning goal with one second left. Up 3-0 with a win like that is difficult to overcome. I can't see Montreal gettting back in this.

Lundqvist has a 1.64 GAA and a .939 save percentage in nine playoff games games yet he is one lose from elimination.

Wow.

Rangers are done. Pretty simple. You don't score, you can't win.

Maybe I'm biased, but I can't see any East team beating either Chicago or Anahiem in the finals.

The Rangers-Caps game last night was maybe the best of the season. Lundqvist has single handedly carried the Rangers to this point. He has been amazing. NYR got that first goal and then another big one with only .3 seconds. Up 4-1 the Rangers in the third went into the turtle and the Caps made one of the most ferocious come back efforts in recent memory. They were swarming Lundqvist like angry hornets. They cut the lead to 4-3 and Ovechkin busted down the middle and fired a laser on him before destroying a Ranger player on the boards. An awesome display of skill and speed, but they couldn't get that tying goal. Ordinarily I would say the Caps were toast again after blowing a 3-1 series lead against a team with a goalie like Lundqvist. But they are not going to go down easily. Should be an interesting game 7.

Game 7 will come down to the goalies; Smoltzy vs Lundqvist.

I'll take Lundqvist seven days a week and twice on Sunday; he made several spectacular saves last night.

He's super aggressive, Smoltzy plays too far back in the crease IMO, get out there and challenge the shooter you tomato can.

This series should be over, but as usual, the Caps are being the Caps and doing things the Caps way.

If they blow this one, it will be business as usual.

Yes, the smart money is on the Rangers. I think they are undefeated in game sevens at home or have at least won all those in recent memory. The Caps have a woeful playoff history of choking. But not so fast. I have a hunch Ovechkin is due. He was like a jet fighter burning down the ice and knocking over defenders like bowling pins. This team has impressed me with their mental toughness and that was a brutal beating they put on the Rangers down the stretch. They completely dominated them in that final 15 minutes. I think they gained a lot of confidence. A couple of careless turnovers and a miracle goal at the end of the first period put Caps in a hole they couldn't get out of. The first goal in game seven is going to be huge.

I'm pulling for the Capitals (sorry Brad and my favorite Yankee fan Michael) solely because Ovechkin is my favorite player and they are more exciting team that would make the EFC and SCF more exciting; that said, watching Lundqvist is hockey porn, so them moving on wouldn't be the end of the world either.

Caps had this sown up, then they let the Rangers back in. They do have a terrible record in game 7s but did beat the Isles in what now seems like an eternity ago. You would have to think that at some point their luck will turn in game 7s.

If Caps win, Ranger fans will rue losing game 1 and if vice versa Caps fans will rue the last few minutes of game 5 when it looked to be all over.

Interesting that the Caps' and Rangers' AHL affiliates are also locked up in a very good series. Hershey and Hartford are tied at 2-2 heading back to chocolate town for game five. The Bears have a great facility and usually draw about 10K fans.

Well Montreal was shown the door with hardly a whimper. It must be a day of mourning in the great white north. They probably didn't even realize there was an NHL team in Tampa. Now onward to the big one tonight! Hopefully the Caps don't choke this one away.

Hockey is Canada's sport, must be tough to lose to an American team in the playoffs.

Stamkos is a Hell of a player, would love to see him and Ovechkin square off in the ECF.

Lundqvist is the best goalie on the planet, so he'll have something to say about that.

Momentum is on the side of the Rangers, that is for sure.

Best of luck to Doug and Brad, may the best team win and advance.

Another great comeback series win by the Rangers but a tough loss for the Caps. Lundqvist is just hard to beat in a game 7.
