NHL Playoffs (1 Viewer)

Huge win for the long suffering Caps organization. A couple of really sweet goals by Burakovsky sealed the deal. It would have been a real shame if Ovechkin had never even had a chance to play in the finals. Holtby came up huge in the last couple of games. The Caps out scored Tampa 9-0 after falling behind in game five. No puck luck for the Bolts down the stretch. Vegas will be the favorite with home ice and plenty of rest. Should be a good series. I think Vegas wins in six (but hope I'm wrong).

The Caps deserve it for sure. Incredible ability to stand that barrage in the second period. I can't believe the puck didn't find the net for Tampa, but the Caps were very strong and capitalized on their opps, hats off to them. And I do like Ovechkin, love his shot, just awesome.

In a lot of ways this was the best final the NHL could hope for. Either a long-standing star gets his first Stanley Cup or an expansion franchise does the impossible and wins the Cup in their inaugural season.

A bizarre pattern of this year's playoffs is that the more rested team has lost game one. So maybe the Caps have a shot tonight. Hopefully there is not a two hour delay during the typical Vegas pre-game nonsense. I like Blue Man Group but enough. Play on!

The pregame is longer than the actual game will end up being; what a tire fire. Is this nonsense really necessary?

And the first goal goes to..............Colin Miller, the ex Bruin. The guy they got from the Kings for Lucic and then lost in the expansion draft.

Naturally.

Entertaining game last night. The Caps had their chances. They may have to play more physical to slow down the Vegas offense. They tend to be less physical on the road to avoid penalties but that be a risk they have to take. Not going to win many games giving up five or more goals. Vegas is now 13-3 in the playoffs winning five in a row and something like seven out of the last eight. The Caps have to win four out of the next six. Scoring on Fleury was a good sign.

Vegas truly played fast, almost like we can outscore you, not much defense and the Caps got a lot of shots on Fleury. I am hoping the rarely seen "bad" Fleury stays away! Entertaining game for sure. I hope Vegas can get up 2-0.

I was torn on what to watch last night as the game was on while the Giants were on ESPN and the Warriors were playing game 7 against Houston.

I am glad that I watched the NHL. It was a great game with loads of scoring and lead changes. Meanwhile the Warriors marched to an inevitable win and the Giants lost in extra innings.

Still way too much crap before they start the game. Shouldn’t be allowed, players already took warm up. Game one ok, now quit!

Caps had a remarkable save, call it luck, whatever, not feeling good if Knights fan, would have like to be up 2-0. Should be a fun and long series!

Hockey is such a fast moving sport that sometimes a little puck luck decides a game. The expression on Ovechkin's face when Holtby made that save was priceless. He has seen so many big games go against the Caps over the years it was like he could hardly believe it. Just one win though. Vegas has been great on the road and the Caps have struggled at home.

Hands down the save of the year; half the yahoos in the stands were celebrating like it was a goal.

Pretty sure the round flat black thing has to completely cross the red line and then the fella behind the net called the goal judge turns the red light on, THEN you celebrate.

If that puck is elevated another two inches, it's a goal.

That could be the save that Caps fans look back on fondly forever, time will tell.

These aren't your Father's Capitals, they are nails.

Interesting how Washington's Eller missed/fanned on a shot for a game tying goal in game 1 and then in game 2 Tuch half fans on one that would have tied it for Vegas.

Great series so far, as a hockey fan it has been well worth watching.

The Caps dominated last night and looked very confident. They were winning faceoffs, blocking shots and making it difficult for Vegas to generate any offense. Even when Holtby gave one away in the third period they just got it right back. In prior years that would have led to an epic choke. Next game is huge. Go up 3-1 and that will be hard to overcome. 2-2 is anyone's series.

They were dominant other than Holtby being a ******* for 2 seconds...........after he gave up that goal, I was waiting for a stripper to slide down a pole and crank up the rally siren, but then I remembered the game was in Washington, not Vegas.

That said, as much as that Vegas lounge act of a game opener is, Mr Wheel of Fortune was brutal last night, murdering one guys name and butchering his stand up act lines........................

Old Pat is probably the only non-politician celeb in DC they could find. And you have to wonder why he is there. I get a laugh when some politician is introduced at a sporting event and gets booed. They always seemed surprised. It doesn't matter who or which party. It's like the two minutes of hate out of 1984. Abe Lincoln could come back from the dead and they would boo him.

He's been a season ticket holder for a whopping 13 years, wow.

"You can come visit me right over there, but good luck getting past my security team".............nervous, canned laughter................just awful.

"We've been disappointed many times in the past, hopefully they finally win a cup"..............even Ovechkin put his head on the dasher and couldn't watch anymore.

Nice pullover he was shoehorned into, I guess they couldn't find one in his size at the arena gift shop.

According to Wikipedia he is actually quite political:

"Sajak has written a number of columns for the conservative magazine Human Events. According to some reports, Sajak has donated over $17,000 to candidates and election committees, all associated with the Republican Party. Sajak is also a regular poster and podcast participant on the conservative blog ricochet.com. He has long acknowledged being a climate change skeptic. He is also a financial supporter of the Young America's Foundation, which sponsors conservative speakers on college campuses."
