That penalty shot was embarassing, what a gift that was, a joke actually.

Totally Agree....PLEASE...Let the players decide the game...especially in the 3rd period.....Game 7 Sharks and Kings was one of the best goal tenders duels I have ever seen.:salute::

I didn't catch any of last night's match but am looking forward to tonight's match but since I'll be also watching Mets Yankees, the clicker will get a workout.

Brad, who won last night, I saw it was 1-0 Evil Empire in the bottom of the 7th........

George,

The Mets won in the bottom of the ninth but I have to confess I fell asleep and saw the highlights this morning. Rivera faced three batters and didn't get anyone out. He was 18 for 18 in save opportunities so I guess he was due. It's funny they honored him at the beginning of the game and he threw out the first pitch. Little did he realize that his last pitch at Citi Field would result in a L.

Right now, the Yankees have a lot of no names playing for them.

Brad

Rangers are looking for a new coach. Torts has been let go {eek3}

You mean they weren't calling his cutters that land 6 inches off the plate strikes?

Must have been NL umpires, not the clowns in the AL who give him that pitch just about everytime.............

It wasn't the calls. Mo only threw 9 pitches in total. Gave up 3 straight hits and a 1-0 lead was a 2-1 loss. Happened so fast I almost missed it. Had to happen some time. -- Al

Detroit just caught a huge break.

Sometimes, you just have to scratch your head and wonder what in the #$%^ was the ref thinking. Making a call like that with about a minute left, after letting the teams play hard the entire game. The players were not involved with the play. Detroit fans are happy.

Rats!!!! Not the outcome I wanted. My Wings took the Hawks to the brink but couldn't close it out. I didn't expect the Wings to take the Hawks to 7 to begin so this was just a great series to watch for me. The future was once in question for Detroit but the youth played good and I expect nothing but good things in the future. Now lets go Bruins! Tough one to pick for me but Im gonna pull for the Kings just because the Hawks just beat my Wings^&grin

Worked out in the end! Congrats. Onto the Kings. Should be a great series.

The four teams left are also the last 4 Stanley Cup winners, not bad.........

Time to pick them:

Pittsburgh 4 Boston 2 - The Pens are just too good. Their only weakness might be with the goalie situation. Boston made a good run, but they won't win four games in this series.

Chicago 4 LA 3 - Great offense meets great defense. The Kings have the best goalie in the playoffs. That gives them a chance every night. They are also well coached and physical. But they are not going to beat Chicago scoring only one or two goals per game like they did in prior rounds. Kopitar and Carter will need to step it up to give the Kings some offense. If they can do that - and it's possible against Chicago - this will be a close one.

That is a very nice symmetry. 3 of the Original 6, as well. Anyone but LA.:wink2: -- Al

Well you're 2/3 right Al, Boston and Chicago are two of the original six, but you are 100% correct about the anyone except LA part! :smile2:

As long as it's Boston and Chicago that is. ^&grin

My apologies. Thought Pittsburgh was one. That's what I get for not being a die-hard hockey fan. Should have stopped and thought. Is it Montreal, NY, Toronto, and Detroit that are the other 4? Always liked Bobby Hull and Bobby Orr, so Chicago or Boston will do.:wink2: -- Al

No apologies needed Al, it's all good and yes, Montreal, NY, Toronto and Detriot are the other 4. :salute::

There should be a law against having hockey teams in California, as matter of fact there should be a law against having any pro sports teams from LA ..... it would mercifully spare the rest of the world TV shots of alleged Hollywood "celebrities" and other bodily orafices from the entertainment community in the crowd.

Prediction: Pittsburg in 6 over Bruins easily..... LA Kings in 7 over the Blackhawks in a close one, with low scoring games.

What's the matter, Justin Beiber, Posh Spice, David Beckham, Tom Cruise and the rest of the Kings fans aren't die hard enough for you?......;)...............

Maybe we'll get lucky and the blonde with the guns from Navarone from last years playoffs will show up again this year.............

They are playing an outdoor game next year in LA. It's good for hockey to expand in places like California. A ton of potential talent and fan base to tap into. Dustin Brown was the first American born captain of a Stanley Cup team last year with the Kings. And they have some great teams playing out there right now. San Jose would give anyone a run this year. They only lost twice the entire season at home. Anaheim was the number two seed.
