They are playing an outdoor game next year in LA. It's good for hockey to expand in places like California. A ton of potential talent and fan base to tap into. Dustin Brown was the first American born captain of a Stanley Cup team last year with the Kings. And they have some great teams playing out there right now. San Jose would give anyone a run this year. They only lost twice the entire season at home. Anaheim was the number two seed.
Hmm. Outdoor hockey in California? I'm guessing Venice Beach, at high noon, on ROLLER skates.{eek3}{sm3} -- Al

I don't see how they are going to pull that off, Dodger Stadium? They had issues with the ice here in Boston and that was on New Years Day with a ton of snow on the ground, not to mention it was a very cold day, that's a bad idea, period, I don't care how much of an up and coming hotbed for hockey the Left Coast is.

I am hoping for Bruins/Blackhawks or Penguins/Blackhawks, the years 2004-2007 where you had the Ducks, Hurricanes and Lightening winning the cup were not good for hockey, end of story.

The only shot the Bruins have vs the Penguins is to stay out of the penalty box and get their first and second lines going, they need more offense from Seguin, Lucic and Horton or else they are toast...............

Dodger stadium. They played an outdoor game in Hershey PA last year. It was about 40 degrees and they were crying about the ice. So hopefully no one falls through and drowns in LA. The Kings are old school. I can still remember the garish purple and gold uniforms. Quick is a beast in goal. Anyone who can win a cup with the Kings is from a different planet. The Florida teams and other California teams are a different story. I'm pulling for the Bruins only because the Pens fan base is about as obnoxious as it gets. And that extends to the AHL Wilkes Barre-Scranton Pens.

Will be interesting to see the Kings try to hang with the Black Hawks, the Kings are averaging 2 goals a game, that's not going to cut it vs the Black Hawks, unless Quick stands on his head, which is not out of the question.

I actually liked those purple and gold Kings uniforms with the crown on the front, don't like those black ones at all, they look like a uniform a team would wear in a cheesy Hollywood type movie about hockey.

Would love to see Jagr haunt his old team, although I have a feeling Iginla is going to torture the Bruins, this being the guy who said thanks but no thanks to a trade to the Bruins, wanting to go to Pittsburg instead; be careful what you wish for you coconut head..............

Talk about obnoxious fans. None can be worse than Chicago! They flock down to St Louis and make the game miserable for the average fan.
Back when I was on the police department and worked part time security at the old arena, mind you I rode the high rise housing projects and other god awfull areas. I still say my time on the PD there was nothing worse than working a Blues-Blackhawks playoff game.
As for outdoor games they should have one, the Winter Classic.
I,m still putting my money on the Hawks to win the cup, although Quick could change that.

Hawks played well in the 1st period. Up 2-0, the Kings look out of it.

4-0 now; is Quick in goal or did they pull him for the extra attacker when they were down 1-0 for the rest of the game?

I was busy this weekend and just returned home and see that Chicago is up 4-1. I thought Quick was supposed to see the greatest thing since sliced bread so what happened here?

The Kings looked off tonight, the Hawks outplayed them in the 1st and 2nd periods.

Apparently he didn't get all those memo's saying he's the best goalie in hockey. :rolleyes2:

Well, I guess we're all entitled to a bad day, now and then.

The Kings are letting Chicago play their game. And that is trouble. Chicago has the most talented skill players in the league. The only way to beat them is to beat on them. Why the Kings are not dialing up the physical play is a mystery. Only Dustin Brown has shown up. The Kings are going to have to disrupt that system and then get into Crawford's head. They simply are not generating enough shots. I do like the rookie Toffoli. He gets a goal and an assist in game two. The Kings actually played much better on offense in game two. For one night Quick wasn't superman. The back to backs are tough on a guy who is so active in the goal. He's never done well in those situations.

Penguins.............................................:mad::mad::mad:
TD

Was a bit surprised at the final score in this one and also the way the game was played as well.

Pittsburg had buzzards luck, hitting posts a couple of times, one puck dribbled from one side of the net to the other, another just sat there and nobody could get to it, Rask made a couple of top shelf saves as well.

Pittsburg seemed to get frustrated and got chippy, specifically Crosby, first jawing with Rask at the end of the second period, then barking at Chara (pretty comical to see Big Z have to bend over to look Crosby in the eye), then slashing Seguin which lead to a penalty.

Cooke was up to his usual crap, but IMO, not as bad as some of his other nonsense, although they made a big deal out of it here, but again, it was more his past reputation than the actual hit.

Malkin pulling the jersey over Bergerons head and once having him down continuing to punch him goes against the fighting code in hockey, but Malkin has had what, 4 or 5 fights, maybe he didn't get the memo.

Pittsburg seemed to get out of their game quickly once they got down 2-0, haven't seen too many of their games this year, but their style seemed a bit off to me.

Their goalie looked a bit shaky too, not sure if he will be pulled if he has another off night.

I fully expect the Penguins to come out flying tonight and be all over the Bruins; I'm just glad the Bruins managed to win a game as many of the experts predicted this was going to be a short series in favor of Pittsburg, I think it's going to be a long series, 6 or 7 games, we'll see............1 down, 3 to go.

Kings are in serious trouble....I'm a bit surprised...Could just be the way these 2 teams match up???....Chicago is playing very well.

Looks like the Pens are going down big time tonight. 0-2 at home and heading to Boston. I'm shocked. The Bruins looked like a dysfunctional team a few weeks ago.

I am a bit surprised also^&confuse....It looks like it's going to be Bruins vs Blackhawks... The way they are both playing it should be a great final match-up:smile2:....Still it ain't over, til its over:wink2:

It's one thing to be down 2-0 and going home like the Kings, quite another to be down 2-0 and going on the road.

The highlight of the game for me last night was after Pittsburg scored with less than a minute left in the first period cutting the lead to 3-1, the crowd was into the game the Penguins had a bit of momentum.

So what happens; that cementhead Cooke starts crap with Marchand, trying to screw with him when Marchand looks up, sees the Bruins are rushing the puck up ice, jumps into the play, takes a beautiful pass and whistles one past Fleury with about 9 seconds left.

4-1 Bruins.

Game over.

I don't get what the Penguins are doing out there, trying to get physical with the Bruins?

Play your game, don't try to be something you're not.

I am waiting for the Penguins to explode and put 5 or 6 biscuits in the basket.

Right now, their goaltending is a mess, as is their defense, so they are going to have to start scoring or else they are toast.

This series is far from over.

But that said; two down, two to go.
