The painted elements were placed into positions to finalise the fit. It looks ok and final details will be added next to this vignette.

Finalising the details around the icon.
Reworking the mtd horsemen and the scene ard them.

After carefully studying the ptg, I repositioned the group between the preening priest and behind the Titans. This is in order to tighten the composition and also to move the horsemen behind the icon into a More visible position. This also creates some space to the right side to insert more figures.
The whole group was carefully moved about 1 cm towards the centre. I also added another horseman to the left of the scene. I spent a very pleasant couple of hrs repositioning the figures.

Now crafting two mostly hidden figs abt 1/24 scale just behind the Titans.
Using basic Fujimi Tamiya 1/24 scale figs as mannequins.

Now developing more crowd scenes. I found and old pkt of subbuteo supporters for this.

Glueing the figures onto a strip of cardbd expedited the work. I intend to make castings of these
probably followed by using round pinheads for the final crowd layer. We’ll see.

Made numerous crowd castings. Additional heads were added from map pins

I’ve completed the penultimate layer of bkgd figures. Waiting for them to dry before I fit them into the scene.

I was having some trouble getting to this site and posting. It seems that my last posting wasn’t properly captured.

anyway. I’ve grouped all the castings and arranged them into 3 layers and placed them at the back of the scene. This seems to work well!

Hello Louis ,Michael and Steve,

thank you for yr very kind comments. But you don’t know half of it….

Btw, here’s the other half. Hahaha.

I’m redoing some of the figures around the icon. Raising their heights.

Also for the mid range figures where a lot of details can be seen in the ptg, I am converting some of those castings to make detailed vignettes. As y can see, many of these castings are pretty dire, and require extensive rework to make them presentable.

Also knocked up a couple of mtd figures, using a 1/76 scale metal horse Pax Brittanica I think and a subbuteo figure for one of them. The other is a converted 1/72 scale casting.

The first pix shows how the bkgd crowd scene was fitted into the scene with putty to hold up and keep the crowds level. It also shows the mtd horsemen being test-fitted into the scene. Notice the mid area spaces where I intend to place the detailed vignettes.

i made some banners to fit into the bkgd scene. I am further extending the bkgd crowd with more smaller pins. I also remembered and dug out a couple of unsued Preiser Ho/oo sets ad. I tk the would make excellent transition figures to blend the crowd scene into the painted bkgd.

I’ve identified this patch of space to fit in some detailed figures between the horseman and the two high priests. The figures to be added are being sculpted. I may also shift in some of the figures on the right to place more figures. Starting to tighten up the scene. Notice the banners fitted to the bkgd crowd scene.

Starting to focus on the bkgd.
Here are the smaller ho/oo figs. Prob will make castings of these as well.

Bldg up the small icon in the bkgd. Covered with metal strips and attached to the crowd scene. Here t is ptd and then placed inside the scene. I’ve also ptd the bkgd with some banners receding into the distance.

Here are three of the mid ground figs ready for ptg. The guy with a blue stocking cap is a high priest and will be placed nx to the other two high priests in the crowd.
