The Left Horn and Right Horn saw some good action on Ebay.

ZS55 $338.33
ZS54 $310.00

Are these rare sets or did someone really want them or just the normal action on AZW Trophy sets.

Brian,

All of the above and in status quo. I sat out on these sets.

With a minimum of 2 bidders who are prepared to dig deep into their wallets for a particular set, the price just skyrockets.

Raymond.:)

I also sat these two out, although they would look nice in the display case. In time I will get these.

Raymond,
My initial thoughts on these split-up sales is that the owner has no idea they're all from a set, or has no boxes:( and lots of figures. I can't blame them, certainly if they fell into the lot via death or the original owner dispensing with them. Lord know my wife would have a tough time sorting!
Mike

Mike,

It does burn me up when I see someone like Conte selling off his collection in dribs and drabs. He should know better, and he's knowledgeable enough to figure out the sets. But he's blinded by the $$$$.

Dave

I would say no also doesn't even look like a TROPHY horse. Did they even do a Samurai range ??

There is an AZW Trophy ambulance set on EBAY. Is this a complete set or a mix and match set.

I do not know how to post a link as soon as I figure it out I will post it, unless someone posts it before me.

Hi Brian

Here's the link

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160406467862&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

It is missing the camp fire with bucket of boiling water but has an additional soldier (wounded and standing at the ready). This is an early set.

Cheers

Martyn:)

Here's my vintage set and the wounded private in shirt sleeves appearing in the ebay set strikes me as being an earlier figure of Frederick Taylor whose closely related to our own Len Tayorl...The Lt.

Hi Brian
Hi,Well spotted young sir !I liked the stance on the wounded chap,so we re-worked the master and remoulded it as my Uncle Fred ,having survived Rork;s Drift he died some months later in Pinetown,Natal of Black water fever, the luck of the Welsh I guess.regards Len .

Hi Brian,

I could not agree more about keeping boxes.

As for labelling, the bases of figures can be used to this end.

Thanks, Raymond.:)

Dear Raymond /"Glossman":
Well said Raymond! By all means keep the boxes! I have made up inventory sheets based on the sets I have in each diorama and display. Each set is denoted as to set # and a description of the set and who made them. In larger dioramas I have put set numbers under the figures stands and / or make sidebar notations as to where they are located on the diorama. I may well do more placement of labels under figures stands in the future. My wife, Karen. would need all the help she can get should she have to take charge of all my metal miniatures!

Hi Gary,

I know that you are very meticulous and will do a splendid job of inventory and labelling.

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

Set#EQ36 – ROCKET BATTERY was very popular.

23 bids with the winner paying $355 or £233.18

I wonder how much the add on set#EQ36A would go for?

Cheers

Martyn:)
