Beautiful model. It's a work of art. I would be very afraid to know the cost of acquiring such a piece {eek3}

Beautiful Richelieu figure!! My only question is did Kolobob pack it well? I have always worried about having a detailed mounted figure shipped so far.
JW

Seeing as it's been a while, I decided to break out the big boys for today's post.

The first is Cardinal Richelieu (120mm) from Arsenyev/St.Petersburg Collection #RIC
(sorry about the blur in the photos. I didn't use a the tripod...LAZY!

That's fantastic Zach. Some more big boys are headed your way today :wink2:

Thanks Brad!

This figure wasn't from Kolobob, but from a private collector. It was packed very well.
I've gotten some from Kolobob (Boris) as well. They have all been packed well. If the figure is Russian Vityaz, they come in a Vityaz box with custom foam. The ones that are labeled as "kolobob" are self packed by Boris. I've never had a problem with either. That being said, I have had issues with some "Russian packing jobs" and am very careful who I order from.

This one came in a while ago, but I hit a photo-lazy period (I felt sort of like the guy on the floor in this piece)

This one is "Hussar and Servant Celebrating Medal" from Grudsky Studio / St. Petersburg Collection catalog# 3180

This one I bought solely because of the shield. I have no real interest in Byzantine soldiers, but the shield blew my mind!

it is: Byzantine Infantry Guardsman w/Decorative Religious Shield from AeroArt/St.Petersburg Collection #6339.2

Ok, ok...yes, I have an addiction (I like to call it an extreme affinity), so what about it! hahah :tongue:

Zach,
Fantastic acquisitions once again, congrats!! Pompey the Great in triumph armor is such a stunning piece.{eek3} Mine just arrived and I couldn't be happier! It has shot straight to the top of my list of favorite pieces. The introductory run sold out FAST! I got the same version as you. I think it's the better of the two variants, but you can't go wrong w/ either one! Your particular example is superb, as is your mounted Arab w/ hawk. That has long been one of my favorite Aeroart pieces. The artist who paints this piece has a stunning, incomparable style. I feel lucky to two examples of her work in my collection. I picked up the Byzantine guardsman at the Wescoaster, and I too was attracted by the shield. It made it a must have for me! A classic piece for sure! I have a few pics to share as well. First is an Argo knight w/ morning star # KK02:

Joe

Next up is an Assyrian archer from Arsenyev - such an incredible level of detail{eek3}

And here's a pic of my Byzantine guardsman w/ religious shield (oops, forgot take the foam of the spear heads!)

Joe, great pieces!
I didn't even notice until I saw yours, then checked mine and it's there too. What is that stick coming out of the head on the shield supposed to be? I have to go check my figure and see if I can figure it out.

Thanks Zach! That's a staff that the angel is holding in her left hand. It rests on her shoulder and rises up behind her head.

Ahhh, yes, I see it! I guess I have to eat some more carrots for my eye sight!

"Generally" speaking I have a major issue with this collection - I can't help myself!

Arriving over the weekend were these civil war generals! If anyone wants a close up of any, let me know. I was too lazy (common theme) to take individuals!

They are (not in order):
Gen. James Longstreet Arsenyev/St.Petersburg Collection 0102
Gen. George McClellan Arsenyev/St.Petersburg Collection 0115
Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman AeroArt/St.Petersburg Collection 205
Gen. Joseph Hooker Arsenyev/St.Petersburg Collection 122
Gen. George Pickett AeroArt/St.Petersburg Collection 3829
Gen. Joseph Johnson Arsenyev/St.Petersburg Collection 116
Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman seated Arsenyev/St.Petersburg Collection 108

These arrived today from one of our (don't know if he wants to be known). Neither of us know the manufacturer. They are 90mm and I am quite pleased with them. He didn't have Stalin, so I will just pretend that Stalin had to go use the can while these two continued the meeting
(sorry for the garbage picture quality - it's even worse since I just made fun of Louis B. for his! :redface2:)

I got this piece knowing that it was broken. Even with the damage, i am very happy with it.
