"Refugees on the Road" (3 Viewers)

I think thats going to far to be honest, the film goes on to show piles of dead in the concentration camps, there is absolutely no suggestion Andy is or would make something like that.At the moment we have refugees,as I've said I think in a Dunkirk scenario with FOB Figures and vehicles it would look really good, they don't have to be in the process of being persecuted,it depends on what you do with them.If Andy made a 'bombed out' family during the Blitz I would buy that, because its what happened to real people, my mums family included.

Rob the film was made by German film crew ;)

I've just come back from Berlin & I doubt K&C would get away with selling "Refugees on the Road" with two German soldiers taken photos in Germany ;)
It would be interesting to see what the general public would think of the first photo shown
To me the two German soldiers are so wrong & that why I won't be buying them :p

TS = Toy soldiers I suspect mate!:D

My flabber is completely gasted! I just find it difficult to understand how certain threads get all twisted and knotted over model soldiers/figures. These are just models after all and very nice ones at that.

Rob...

None taken and was not my intention to insult our troops as many of my family served in WWII and, I am unbelievably proud of their contribution. It was just to show that both sides did some rather nasty stuff but, that some posters automatically associate these benign releases as an atrocity by the germans.

I cannot see the link between some of the releases and the concentration camps or SS officers shooting a child in stryped pj's For me its bizzare.

I have been fortunate or unfortunate some may say to have interviewed many war veterans from our side and the Heer and SS with the aid of Hiag and, all to a man have stated they saw troops or some more honest that they took part in what could be seen as war crimes.

War is a nasty thing and in the hobby that is what is being represented and, as soon as I saw the SS film crew knew it would spark some comments.

Since the russians are brought up they to have a terrible record and probably with the research out at the moment killed more people than the germans did and most were their own people.

havent been viewing nor participating for a while but its good to see nothing has changed,i suspect like me ,many of us have become quiet bystanders on this forum ,sadly,no matter what K&C make ,someone somewhere has a problem dont know why some people collect objects that depict military figures, soldiers and vehicles and then object to so many good depictions that many of us can use to bring some reality to our military dioramas .Congratulations to Andy ,these civilians will be a huge seller ,inspite of some of the vocal detractors who have no intenion of buying them anyway but always feel their opinions should be heard above all others.Collectors should buy what they want and others should concetrate on their own collection instead of preaching to others on the rights and wrongs . In war there is no right because its causes and effects to humans are all wrong but this is miniature collecting not the real thing ,seen that and done that,so what not doing it now,but enjoy the hobby all the same, cause no manufacturer will ever be able to come close to creating something that depicts the reality of human conflict . Hey Mitch,

Some good points there.

And to be honest who on earth would buy concentration camps figures even if anyone ever made them,I'm sure I can't think of anyone I know who would!.

I'm hoping one day to convince Andy to do a Home front series, the scope for civvies and emergency services is huge and would be very interesting and very evocative of those dark days,I'll ask him in London in December;)

Welcome back then Ken!.You've been AWOL,consider yourself on a charge,we'll talk about it at the next K&C get together, unless we can tempt you down to London on Saturday...its going to be a good one...you know you want to;)

It just never changes... those that object get more vitriolic and shrill until they close down the thread. It's never enough to simply state there feelings, if they can't WIN, then destroy!
These figures are in no way a celebration of war, they are a stark reminder, they are fact, your personal feelings are just that personel, please don't project your darkest thought on the rest of us.
Many lines have come and gone due to lack of support, act accordingly.

Amen, brother.

Then please explain to me why they do not have the Star of David armbands???
THAT would make them "spot on", mate.

As Andy said in the description of the refugees, they are generic and could be from 1939, 1940 or even late war and from France, Poland, Italy or possibly some of them might fit a bombed out London display. I think what put them in a controversial light are the 2 German photographers. Otherwise, the figures look good.

I thought you would know mate you did not need to be a Jew to be sent to a concentration camps ;)
When I went to the concentration camp in Berlin there was a monument for ten British & commonwealth soldiers who lost there life there :(

I do not see any captured soldiers in the refugee group. That's what we are talking about.
